Davina caught her breath as she drew away from him, her hand lifting automatically to her mouth, covering the offending lips as she shied away. That had been forward, very forward, and she couldn't tell whether it had paid off or not. Kol was over a thousand years old and, over that time, he'd managed to make himself almost impossible to read. Still, she didn't think he was angry or irritated. If anything, he seemed amused.
A little frown formed on Davina's forehead as she peered up at him, her eyes wide and nervous.
"We had some unfinished business," she replied, her hand dropping from her lips back to her side. She was glad to hear that her voice sounded steady and strong, even though she felt like jelly on the inside. "I don't like leaving things half done."
