========================

Damien was outside of his apartment. He had the day off for patrols, so he didn't have to be anywhere urgent for now. He had noticed how many people the Seal had returned home. He was also aware of the aftermath that inevitably follows, as it often does. Lost families, broken hearts, rifts in their lives. Until the same people would return. And they may. However, he knew some might not. He knew that fully well. He had only just recently, after everything, begun to feel whole again. At least a major threat had been taken care of. Fortunately, the good people hadn't lost a fight yet.. though there had been an occasional casualty, temporary or not. So today, he felt like checking around the Greaves House apartment property. This was his home for now after all. If one doesn't feel safe in their own home, then the world is quite dismal indeed. He had mentioned a few ideas to Kirk a while ago on the boards. Nothing had been decided yet, but he was willing to put his finance towards any of it to make sure it could happen. No evil could enter the grounds, but that didn't fully put him at ease. A truly dark person would find a way around that and attack from afar. Or send in someone innocent that may unknowingly possess a bomb that can go off by remote. Or anything that involves being out of range.

He thought now may be a time to go around the buildings and lots to get a view and assess things himself, make mental notes of any possible improvements. He wore black pants, shirt, and a dark overcoat. He held a small notepad that he'd jot down some info on, once in a while as he walked. Taking notice of possible exit routes for tenants, the doors, entry points, but mostly? The windows were of intrigue to him. Might not be too much work to reinforce them, he'd though. Make them a bit impenetrable from outside attacks, he imagined that some police or government agencies used strong glass surfaces like those too. Possible even some tech that allowed for metal shutters to come downward on doors and windows during a needed lockdown scenario. It would take a bit of work. Though probably not much, he could just supply the money and workers could install it. He would just hope that the residents might be on board with the plans as well.

He had went around his own building, and had with the second.. and circled around the third, making notations of the layout and what might be needed soon. He would save this for Kirk and Catherine to review shortly as well, when they would each have a fee moment to speak on it. He was nearly done assessing things and was making his way to the front lot. He noticed some pebbles on the sidewalk in front of him. So he just made a gesture of his hand and the small rocks just rolled off and into the grass and gravel section of the path, as if on their own. He checked his watch. 12:30. Might be time for lunch within the hour. As he walked toward the end of the walkway, he heard footsteps approaching around a corner. Fast. Repetitious. Ah, maybe someone on a run? He had done so in the morning. He stepped aside slightly and looked up to get a look at who it was. Maybe it was another tenant that he'd seen around the place, or perhaps a neighbor. He'd see soon.

Damien paused in his step once he saw who the other man was. Oh, wow. He knew full well the twin phenomenon, of course. But actually seeing it in person and this close? Amazing. He looked very closely identical to the other. Though different clothing style, and maybe other things too. It was like looking into a mirror. It was almost surreal. Now he knew what it had been like for Peter Vincent and the Doctor, Mel and Ruby, and many others. He had heard of Christian as well, so it was interesting to see him in person. "Uhh, hi," Damien said at last as he quickly accepted the handshake. "Yeah, my name is Damien. Formerly head of a company, though I'm close to starting it up here in Kansas soon. Nice to meet you, Christian.. or Chris, if you prefer."

He added, pointing to his place over in the distance, "I live over there in Building One. I was just checking around the area, going over some safety ideas and stuff, and just a little quick patrol around the property. You just got back from a run?" He'd assumed as much, from how fast Christian had been walking moments before. "I do that sometimes, usually early mornings before breakfast. Though other times it's the occasional archery and fighting practice too. I like to mix up and switch activities once in a while, keep myself well rounded that way." And just seeing and talking to his.. twin, now, he couldn't help but have questions as to how similar or different they may be. Who knows, maybe they could eventually prove to be allies for the next big fight.

"I don't think anybody's ever shortened my name before. It's going to take some getting used to I think. Back home I was getting ready to start college," Christian told him. He hadn't given much thought to whether or not he wanted to go to college here. He'd gone to the campus a few times with Lissa and gotten permission to sit in on some of her classes but he hadn't gone to the registrar's office to enroll but it was probably only a matter of time until he did. "What's your company do?" he asked, curiosity obvious. Damien didn't look to be that much older than him and the fact that he was already the head of a company was impressive to Christian.

"I'm in Building Three with my girlfriend Lissa. I just needed to get out for a while and a walk around the place turned into a run. I need to figure out some kind of exercise program here I guess. Something to keep active." He also needed somewhere to practice his element so that he could stay in control of it and maybe even figure out new ways to use it offensively when the situation called for it. "What kind of fighting?" He'd had a little training thanks to Tasha, and he hoped the hurt he still felt when he thought about his aunt didn't show to much on his face.

"Well, there's always an opportunity for college here, or in Kansas City," Damien suggested. He hadn't needed college since he'd already graduated before showing up in this world. "I had finished with Yale. Had some friends in there, did pretty well in the various clubs and student government." Those were good times. It was slightly better than military school. Not as rigid, bit more freedom, and he learned more.

"My company, Thorn Industries," he answered, "it usually creates and works with agriculture areas of work. Pesticides, fertilizer, farming equipment, soil improvements, and such. There's other areas that have to do with energy and computers too. It was multinational, had offices in a few other countries around the world. Its main focus was on curing famine or hunger, helping to improve land for crops, and other purposes like that. Been working to get it set up here too, should be ready in a few weeks or a month, possibly a little longer. I probably won't have a branch in a lot of countries, but starting it up in a couple American cities may do well for a while."

He understood a need for exercise. He'd often done a lot himself. Of course he found it easy to be fit, but he did like working to keep it that way. And staying in shape, workouts and such, it also served to keep him on his toes, and meant his styles and methods wouldn't get rusty. "Oh, usually martial arts fighting. Kenpo karate, bit of kung fu, wing chun, street fighting, things like that. I have done sword practice too.. I actually have a sword I got recently, if you wish to see it sometime." He paused, wondering if he should also mention special abilities, powers. Christian seemed like a cool guy and living in an Apocalypse world, one saw all sorts of things. Maybe he had talents too. And Christian looked just like him, so he felt he could trust a bit more. "I also have.. okay, this may sound odd but you may know this of others. But I have certain powers and abilities too, that help me in surviving threats. It's kinda like telekinesis but more to do with weaponizing my environment in cases of crisis. I don't always use it, the physical training and stuff usually is sufficient most of the time without adding the 'special' stuff into the mix. Although.. I admit it can help."

"Yeah. I haven't quite decided about going to college while I'm here or not yet. Although I'll probably end up enrolling at the college here before too long," Christian admitted. He knew he couldn't continue just sitting around like he had been. He was already starting to get bored with it and he did want to continue his education.

He was impressed by the things Damien's company was involved with, the ways that they were trying to help people, trying to help the world. It seemed to him like a company that would be good to have in any world. "Sounds to me like they were working on a lot of good things there. Even if you don't have branches in other countries - I think it sounds like it could do a lot of good here."

"That actually doesn't sound all that odd to me," Christian told him. He paused for a moment before continuing. He could tell him about his abilities without mentioning Lissa's he was sure. He knew that chances were people knew about Lissa's magic but that didn't mean he was going to tell people about it. "I've actually got some of my own. Mainly - I can control fire. It's the element I specialized in at St. Vladimir's - that's the school I went to back home."

"Yeah, Kansas seems a good place to start," Damien admitted. "I'd thought of Chicago.. but this is where I live at present, plus everyone I know is here. Maybe later I can have one in other cities. But for now, Kansas will be its beginning. I did have help, though. My friend Kirk, we had talked a bit and it led me to make the business decision and try it. He's a good friend to anyone. If someone needs help or advice on business, he's always there to give assistance. He was the one who met me when the Seal had brought me back here. Haven't seen him use a phaser yet, but maybe one day soon." He'd look forward to that. But the food replicator was an equally worthy invention to witness.

Fire? Christian had control over the fire element. Damien was suddenly very impressed by that, and it showed in his expression. "Fire, you say? Wow. That.. that is quite awesome! Fire is actually one of my favorite elements. I'd known others who used it before too. I do too, in a way. I can't make flames from nothing. But using what's already there, increasing the temp, or making explosions, that I can do at least. I also have a bit of an immunity. I never get sick, poisoned, drugged, and I heal fast from wounds too. If you want.. well, maybe only if you'd want to. I might like to see some of that fire as an example, or demonstration. Nothing too big, maybe just a minor thing. Could be fun to see. Only if you would want to, of course. One good thing about this place, people with abilities will always be accepted. By displaced anyway. Locals are often the ones to be wary of, in any universe."
