Anna really didn't even have the slightest idea how to cope with what had happened, so she was suppressing it. She didn't want to talk about it, that seemed to be what most people were doing. They saw the horrible things they saw and that was it. They were done. Anna still flinched some at shadows in the house of her friends, but she didn't talk about it anymore. Not that she'd really started to in the first place, she was just scared. She stuck close to Elsa lately and mainly and those who had been in the strange Angel house. Surprisingly to Damon, she still worried about him some times. She worried about a lot more these days than she had in a very long time.

She hadn't really been out of the house much, nor did she want to start trying now. She had been hesitant when James wanted to come by, but felt bad about not at least trying to see him. She had just finished trying to bake, but it failed miserably. Her heart wasn't in it. She left her things in the kitchen, she'd tend to them later on. All she really wanted to do was curl up in a blanket and sleep. She sank down on the couch and waited.

She took notice of it though and just sighed. Getting up to grab one of the games. But then she decided to take her time in the thick silence. Silence wasn't something she was comfortable with, and she did know the difference between a good silence and a bad one. This one felt like a bad one.

"Is..something wrong?" If he was going to tell her he didn't care either, she'd rather at least know now than later. She was getting tired of men pulling that on her. She had hoped most men were better than Hans, but now she really had no idea. Damon had confused her, the entire angel house had worried her. Things just didn't seem as bright as they were before.

He looked up at her when she spoke. This was the absolute worst time to bring this up, but it needed to be talked about. It needed to be dealt with before it got to the point where they resented each other. He cared about her and didn't want to hurt her, but if they didn't talk he thought it might turn out worse.

He took a deep breath. Hopefully he didn't screw this up too much. "You're not okay, are you?" he asked. "I don't know what happened to you but I know it wasn't good. And I want to help you but I'm not sure if I can or if you want me to."

She turned to look at him in confusion. "I'm fine. I told you I am?" Why would he bring this up? She really didn't know what it had to do with him being there. She just wanted to play a game. She set out the board game carefully. It was monopoly. Since when did she ever care about board games so much?

The answer?

Never. Yet there she was. Carefully placing all the little pieces where they needed to go without looking up. "I don't need help." She could cope on her own. Everyone else was. She wanted to also, even if she didn't have the faintest idea how. How was everyone dealing with it? They looked to just be moving on. Even Jesse who had an Angel in her eye, and Anna didn't get how. "I just want to..I don't know." Her knuckles were a little tight on the game now. Uncomfortably so.

He nodded, watching her set up the game. It had probably been a mistake to bring it up, but he had thought maybe she would open up. He should have guessed she wouldn't. But when he watched her tighten her grip on the board he thought she might talk after all.

"It's all right not to know what you want or need right now," he said quietly. "The only person who is going to be able to figure out what you need is you, and that's probably going to take time. I want to help, but part of me thinks you don't want me to help. I can give you time and space, if that's what you think will help, but I just need to know if that's what you want."

"I don't know what I want." She said a little sharply. These types of conversations were ones she wasn't very good with. She'd lived most of her life in solitude so she didn't have much preparation for them. What she did gain from it was an overly thick skin that wouldn't allow her to cry or break down in front of him if that was what he was expecting from this meeting. She was too proud for that. Even after all the death. She'd dealt with hers and Elsa's parents death in solitude and maybe that was what she needed for this. She didn't know how else to react.

"How is it okay? How is it any form of okay that I can't sleep anymore at night without the light on?" These days she kept it on to keep the shadows to a minimum. She just rubbed a hand through her hair finally and left the game alone in frustration. "Fine. Yeah, good. Space. Space is fine." She didn't know if space really was fine or not. She knew he didn't deserve her silence, but she didn't know how else to deal with it, so she agreed.

"It's not okay at all," he said. "The Seal likes to screw with people and it's not fair. It's not right. The best thing we can do is deal with the stuff it gives us however we can and then move on as best we can."

He hesitated a minute, then got up and moved next to her. "I care about you. Don't think I don't. If you decide you need me I'll be there, no questions asked. But I think you need to sort things out, and I think right now me hovering is the worst thing I could do."

She should have known this was coming. Things had been weird for a while. But it still didn't make it easier. Anna nodded as she listened. Not really sure how to handle break ups. That's what this was. He'd come over wanting to 'give her space' or something. She really didn't understand relationships after all.

When he sat next to her it wasn't like it had been before, it was different. There were no sweet words or hand holding. Just worry and concern. Anna pushed some red hair from her face, but it fell right back in vain and she sighed. "If you think so." She repeated, attempting not to sound angry or hurt or anything at all. She'd rather go out with a little dignity if that's what was going on. She was too strong headed to let him see her cards now."Maybe you should go then."

He nodded, standing up. He ran a hand through his hair. He hadn't wanted it to end like this. It was a better ending than his relationship with Ginger had gotten, but it still sucked. But really, it was the best choice. He didn't plan on going out and jumping into another relationship for a while, if ever, and if she got things settled in her life maybe they could get back together. He wouldn't mind hoping for that, at least for a while.

"If...if you want to talk, about anything, I'm still there," he said quietly. "I mean, if you don't want to speak to me I understand, but if you do need anything don't hesitate to ask. If I can help, I will." He paused, not quite sure what to do next, but he decided the best thing to do would be for him to leave. He made his way to the door and paused, hand above the knob. "Bye, Anna," he said, a tinge of sadness in his voice. And with that he opened the door and left.
