Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:gamora, peter quill/starlord

Who: Peter Quill and Gamora
What: Two Guardians arrive back on Terra.
Where: Graveyard of arrivals!
When: Earrrly Monday Morning. Like 4am early
Rating: ...um...probably low ish.
Status: In Progress

She didn't know when it had happened. She had been resting her eyes. That was all, resting her eyes and when she opened them again she was surrounded by burial monuments. And she found she was cold, wearing only a dress. It had been fine on the Milano but did very little to warm her in the night. Was this some trick of someone's to claim the stone. They didn't even have it anymore. It would be foolish to have gone for them, and if they'd just taken her, well she'd have no one else to watch out for and would therefore be absolutely fine

"Hello" she called out, looking around at the stone symbols, marked with names. She was armed of course. She was always armed. But she hadn't drawn a weapon yet. It didn't seem prudent until she determined if these people were friendly or not. "Quill?" are you here, "Drax, Rocket?"

She didn't call for Groot. She didn't think he could find her whereever he was, potted as he still was and unable to move. Though Drax had sworn to her he'd spotted the little tree dancing. Gamora doubted it. He'd been through quite the ordeal.

Ultimately, she was annoyed. She didn't like suprises, didn't like being stuck in a world she didn't know and most definitely didn't like being in a place of death and walking all over remains of people. She didn't know their customs. It could be a great insult. She began to watch her step a little more.

This was a very odd place. Why would someone drop her in a place of death. It was tacky.

She got up to move when she spotted him. Red Jacket. And dancing.

Woken up in a new world same as her, no longer on the Milano and he was dancing.

She'd surrounded herself with idiots, she thought, walking over and lifting the ear pod device from his ear.

"QUILL"

Something good. Something bad. Or a bit of both? He’d asked the guys. Gamora said they’d follow his lead. Even calling him Star Lord, in an almost fond tone. He grinned as he declared “A bit of both.” And they left Xandar for their next adventure. Whatever that would be.

And they had. They’d been investigating a rumour of something which should bring in lot of credits, when he blinked. And, everything around him changed. And looked achingly familiar. A sight he hadn’t seen in over 26 years.

Okay, so it was a graveyard. But, he hadn’t thought he’d ever see Earth again. Wasn’t entirely sure that he wanted to, either. There was nothing left for him there. But, it seemed that he didn’t have a choice. All the same, he pressed the button on his neck for his helmet, using it to check for abnormal heat signatures, infra-red etc. He could be sensible sometimes.

But, convinced that he could see no immediate danger, he clipped his walkman to his belt, and pressing the button to minimise his helmet again, he put the headphones over his ears. Grinning, he explored his immediate vicinity. Dancing his way around the graveyard.

When she'd lifted the headphone from his ear, and yelled his name. he almost jumped out of his skin. He'd been more lost in thought than he thought. Remembering that last night on earth 26 years ago.

But, he slipped the phones around his neck, and grinned at the beautiful green-skinned woman in front of him.

"Gamora! How did we get to earth?"

Gamora blinked. Earth? His Terra. Is that where they were? It wasn't what she had expected but then she supposed it was night. Only one moon though, how very disappointing. He smiled at her, taking off the music and she thought he looked happy. At least, that he hadn't expected to be here and perhaps didn't hate it.

This was his world. The world of the music he loved, of Kevin Bacon their great hero. Perhaps she would find him. Ask him to retell his saving of a town from the sticks up their butts. Metaphorical though Quill insisted they were.

"I don't know how we have come to be here. But I do not see Rocket or Drax so I can only assume something has targetted the two of us. And I refuse to be party to some plan of some malevolent being." He didn't think her father could have sent them here, even he could not do that. Could he? "It is your world Starlord? How would you suggest we proceed?" she asked him. it was prudent to listen to the native. Even if he had not been there since childhood it made the most sense to Gamora.

He could focus on tactics and she would stop anything that tried to attack them. Like the...the thing...

"Quill" she hissed. Pointing at something small and furry sitting atop a gravestone, licking itself.

"What is it? Is it poisonous to us?"

Peter's face set into a more serious expression as she spoke. He'd been so surprised to be home, that a few things hadn't occurred to him.

Okay, so he had wondered how they're gotten there. But, since there'd been no immediate danger, and no one else there, he'd decided to enjoy the moment. But, now Gamora was there. And inspite of himself, looking after the people he cared about seemed to be a habit of his.

He nodded at her giving him the lead, again. Somehow managing to hold in the grin at her calling him Starlord.

"We should probably leave the graveyard, first. It's creepy." He was thankful it was night, at least. People might be less likely to notice that Gamora was green while it was dark.

Then, she got freaked out by a cat, and he couldn't help but chuckle. "It's just a cat, Gamora. People keep them as pets." He said moving over towards it, allowing it to sniff his hand and bolt if it so chose. It didn't, so he scritched it's head.

"How is it creepy?" she asked confusedly. She didn't understand being frightened of death. Oh she didn't want to die any time soon but it was in no way a bad thing or a thing to fear. She was mearly worried about disturbing any customs they may have had on this world.

But if he wanted to leave because it was 'creepy' then she wasn't going to tell him otherwise. Besides it would be silly to stay here. There seemed little to learn from this place of the dead. The 'cat' it seemed was a friendly thing. Though she wondered to herself if it liked being kept as a pet or if it was free roaming. Either way it seemed fond of Quill. Perhaps it knew him as a native.

"Is it to come with us or do you still wish to leave and find out more of where we are in your world and why we are here?" she asked curiously. She was still mostly suspicious of the cat. It was nuzzling Quill's are and occasionally looking over at her. It was probably planning something. It looked the type.

Quill shook his head. Knowing that Gamora wouldn't understand. More, it was memories of his childhood. But that was unimportant now. They needed to find answers somehow, and they weren't going to find it there.

"No. We should leave." He grinned, "Come on, this way." Peter had noticed the gate to the cemetary a short way away and started heading towards it. And out into the street.

Things looked....different. It was definitely Earth, of that he was sure. But, the cars were different, among other things. He supposed that technology had progressed in the last 26 years. Still not as advanced as what he'd gotten used to with the Ravagers. But, more advanced than when he was abducted by them.

Gamora followed along still unsure of how they would get by on Terra. Already the strange animal had gone on its way clearly bored of them. It was quite an arrogant thing, she thought.

The place didn't look like many worlds she knew. Obviously technological but primitive by her standards, and she expected by Quill's now. The cars were still running on roads alone. It was all rather ridiculous. And she could smell the pollution in the air. Now that she remembered from some worlds she knew.

"Do you have any destination in particular planned." she said, scanning frequancies for some kind of way to find information in this world. "Or do you intend for us to wander until we hit a wandering plan? We've done stranger things."
