"You have got to be kidding me." Buffy looked around the graveyard and shook her head. "Graveyards. What is it with me and graveyards?" she said to no one in particular. She should probably be concerned that she wasn't on the busy where she'd fell asleep however long ago, but Buffy was really no stranger to weird. Was she happy to be here? No, definitely not. Especially since she didn't know where she was or how she'd gotten here and, oh yeah, where the hell was the bus? When Buffy pulled the wooden stake out of her pocket, it was more for comfort than from a sense of danger. At the moment, she didn't really sense anything vampy, which was kind of weird, too. She felt better with a weapon in her hands all the same, though. She might not have a clue what was going on, but kicking ass was something Buffy knew she knew how to do. That stake in her hand helped her to feel more in control. She was glad for that impulse a few minutes later when she hear some rustling from nearby. Buffy spun around in the direction of the noise, but even with her enhanced Slayer vision she couldn't see anything there. Great. This was awesome. It wasn't like she'd just done battle with a bunch of uber vamps or anything. Noooo, she totally hadn't earned a vacation from the slaying. Of course, there was something out there. And Buffy really wasn't in the mood to play games. "Hey, you wanna come out and face me like a man?" she called out. "I don't know what's the up here, but I'd really like to get back to my bus, so let's just get this over with, k?" Yeah, the bad guys never cooperated, when you were in a hurry or otherwise, but it was worth a shot. |
