Getting pregnant wasn’t something that she had planned. Not at the age she was now. Back when she was a carefree princess in love with a stable boy, definitely. Marrying Daniel and starting a family with him was all she had wanted. But, Regina Mills, wasn’t that naive little girl anymore. She had grown up fast - hardened herself to ever carrying a child of her own - and set out to get her revenge. Living up to her title of the Evil Queen. Her first attempts at raising a child had failed. Owen and his father were never meant to be hers. When she had finally decided that a child was something that she wanted again, Regina, adopted. Henry was everything to her and would always be.

And yet now here she was. Pregnant with a child of her own. By a man that she loves and loves her in turn. House wasn’t one to come right out and say it but she knew that he loved her. Only now she wasn’t sure what was going to happen with them. Children of his own wasn’t something that he wanted. Regina knew his reasons. Afraid that he’d be terrible at it, become like his father, that his addiction to pills and alcohol made him a terrible role model. Regina had countered with her own response to that last one but had given up the fight not long after. She was just not in the right frame of mind for arguing with him. And so she would be true to her word and give him space. Katherine’s room was empty and for however long it took for him to process that they were going to be parents, she would stay there. But first she was going to go over and see Harry.

Precious Harry. Where Katherine was the sister she’d never gotten to have, Harry was the brother that she had never gotten to have. In their more recent conversations she had noticed the old Harry shining through. It wasn’t until she had seen these glimpses that Regina realized just how much she had missed him. Missed the smiles and easy flow of their conversations. And right now that was exactly what she needed. Her brother and greasy food.

Picking up the burgers hadn’t taken long. Two cheeseburgers and a side of fries for them both. Though her fries was a double portion. Her stomach - though having rebelled earlier - was craving the grease covered, fried potato. The entire meal should go up as a red flag considering how “fast food” was something she avoided eating at all costs. And anyone who knew her was well aware of that fact. But this was Greg’s baby too and apparently all he or she wanted was greasy food.

In a cloud of purple smoke, Regina, appeared in Harry’s living room. As the smoke cleared she called out, “Harry, dear, you better come and get your cheeseburger before I’m tempted to eat both of ours”

Harry had known Regina was planning to drop by, but wasn't sure when exactly she'd be there. So he'd settled onto the tiny, thinly padded sofa he'd put in his kitchen, with Nix nestled up against his chest, gently stroking his soft fur. He'd missed his little friend, while he'd been off in the Shire. Sylvia too, but she was snubbing him at the moment, pretending to ignore him. She hadn't been pleased by his sudden disappearance. Nix had no such grudge and was leaning into Harry's fingers, eyes closed in contentment.

He'd missed his human friends too, of course; Kirk and Amy and a few other familiar faces had been with him, but all the rest had been somewhere else. He had a lot of friends here in Lawrence, now, and he'd only wished they could have all been there with him. The Shirt was a bright and kind place. It reminded him of Embrey, in all the best ways - a green, warm farming community full of simple, cheerful, hospitable people. It was soothing. He lived for soothing now, for quiet and ease and gentleness. He didn't remember Hell unless he tried to now, thanks to his wish, but even with that dulled, he still felt that sense of taking a rest to catch your breath after a long, horrible, agonizing struggle.

And for Harry, that meant home, friends, comfort food, and soft-furred pets.

Regina's arrival in the next room didn't catch him by surprise, but her greeting words certainly did. Brow furrowed, he twisted his head up and around, trying to peek around the back of the sofa, but still couldn't see her. Carefully cradling Nix close, he swung his feet to the floor and stood up. Once he was sure the bat had a good grip on his shirt Harry let him hang there, his weight pulling Harry's shirt taut from his shoulders, and peeked around the doorframe.

"Cheeseburgers?" he asked, lingering in the doorway uncertainly. "You got a cheeseburger? Who are you and what have you done with Regina?" The teasing was fond if genuinely confused. Harry kept a hand close by Nix, still stroking his fur gently.
