Regina woke with a start. She couldn't answer what it was that was bringing up the memories that were plaguing her dreams. Her memories of Daniel were something she always dealt with. He had been her true love and losing him had been the catalyst for future events. But to recall Tinker Bell was puzzling. To be honest she hadn't given the fairy much thought after they'd last parted. She'd been so young then. Though skeptical at the time Regina had still believed in hope. Well, at least, until her own fear of having happiness again won out. Daniel had been her true love and it was just too much to believe she could have it again. And yet here she was decades later. Turning her head Regina observed the man she had grown to love. He was so very different from her beloved stable boy. Where Daniel had been sweet and always gentle, Greg was rough and harsh. Though she hadn't lived that moment her Daniel had told her to love again and perhaps at this point of her life this is what she needed. Someone who was rougher around the edges. Regina certainly wasn't the innocent gentle girl that she had once been. Every now and then there may be traces of that girl but she couldn't be her again. Far too much had happened, her heart too damaged by letting the darkness take hold. Throwing the covers back, she pulled herself out of bed, slipping her robe on and moving to the large window in the room. Instinctively her arms had wrapped around herself as she looked out into the night. Regina knew what she needed right now was her best friend. With Gaia gone, Katherine was the one person she had left that she could talk to. And events of late called for a heartfelt conversation. In the name of doing the right thing she had used her magic to help at the complex. That alone had exhausted her but at the time ensuring the man she loved got out safely was all she was consumed with. Regina would be damned if she were to lose another love. In the days that followed Regina was feeling more and more taxed. Between these continuous dreams and the conversations she'd had with Belle she really needed her best friend. Only it still wasn't safe for Katherine to return home. The bloodlust still too strong. A feeling Regina was familiar with and understood the continued seclusion but oh how she wished it would be over. She refrained from pushing but patience and Regina Mills was not something that went hand in hand. Oh, she could be patient, but Regina liked things to happen rather than having to wait for the right time. Though she was still wary of vampires, Regina trusted Katherine and Elijah, and though she'd never admit it felt safer when either of them were around. Katherine more so than Elijah but that came from having known her longer. And been through hellish situations together. It was why she hadn't shunned her best friend for choosing to be turned again. With a sigh Regina leaned against the window feeling the coolness of the night seeping through the glass and her body. "Come home Katherine," she whispered quietly. The conversation bubbling inside of her was one that she could not have with House. And the longer it was delayed the harder it was to avoid discussing it with him. Regina needed advice before she brought up this topic. Hell she'd needed advice before asking him to move in permanently but that conversation had gone smoother than she hoped. It had been spontaneous and a deflection of everything else she was suppressing but certainly not something she had never thought before. But this, no this, was a conversation that required advice. |
