Who: Anya Jenkins and Open
What: As afterlives go, this one sucks
Where: A street in downtown Lawrence
When: Early Morning 7th
Rating: Not high, but Anya does say things :)
Status: In progress

Funny, she hadn’t expected an afterlife like Buffy had gotten. Being all former vengeance gal and all Anya had expected something a little more...demony. Maybe D’Hoffryn looking smug and superior. Maybe choirs of fat men in dipers if she got lucky enough for heaven. She could mock them. Maybe some disturbed hell full of bunnies. It could have been anything really. She didn’t expect a sign saying ‘Welcome to Lawrence, Kansas’. What was welcome about that! Why was the afterlife Kansas? Puzzled, she did what she knew would have been expected of any Scoobie in this situation. Even if it was Kansas not Oz her mind switched to backward Wizard shenanigans. She’d been spending too much time with those people. Nonetheless the former vengeance demon clicked her heels together three times and repeated ‘I wish I was home’ with each click, scrunching up her eyes as she did and waiting for something to happen. Annnytime now. Anytime at all.

Nothing. Glinda was a crock. But she supposed her shoes weren’t red and sparkly which she believed was integral to the whole wish. What kind of wish was that even to offer? Glinda clearly didn’t know what she was doing. Anya would have turned Dorothy into the home she so wanted to be. If she’d gone in for that kind of vengeance. She was sure there was a vengeance demon of squished sisters, the West Witch should have done it. Dropping a house on ones sister was just rude. Not that Anya had had sisters back when she was Aud. She’d have done it if someone had dropped a house on Buffy.

...Maybe. She might have thought about it.

This wasn’t helping at all. It was irrational and silly thinking about witches and poorly designed wishes and flying houses. And it was a ridiculous afterlife. “I died heroically for this!” she exclaimed irritated as she started to walk. Checking her pockets as she went didn’t help, in fact it only managed to make her sad. She was moneyless. And that wouldn’t do at all. Still it proved to Anya that clearly she’d gone to hell and hell was Kansas. Had to be. Heaven would never have left her without money.

“Hello” she called “Glinda? Green one?” If she found the pink bubblegum witch called Glinda, they were going to have a long talk about wishes and their practical application in the world. And then Anya might pull her hair. And kick her and steal her wand. It was a distinct possibility. If not Glinda then she wanted to talk to whoever had brought her here. Troubling would be if they didn’t have hair, but she’d find something else to pull. And nothing they’d enjoy.

Elphaba was up early that morning. She was concerned about Elena, but so far things had gone well with her surgery. But it was more than just the surgery Elena had to deal with. She could tell the recent influx of people from Elena's world was difficult for her friend to handle, and she only hoped that eventually, things would be alright. Elphaba certainly did what she could without being accused of hovering, and Chistery tended to run around Elena, doing what he could for her. At least Chistery was helpful. His language skills were still touch and go as they always were, but he always meant well.

Having decided to go for a walk and get some coffee, Elphaba had cast the glamour spell on herself to change her skin to a normal color before she left the house. She'd gotten some coffee and was walking along when she swore she heard someone say Glinda. Stopping, Elphaba looked around, her gaze eventually resting on a blonde woman. And at the "green one" comment, Elphaba's mouth dropped open a bit. Was she being blamed for this? Because this wasn't her fault. Not this time.

"Going for the 'I'm not in Oz anymore' joke?" She asked as she approached the other woman. She wasn't entirely certain if this woman was a new arrival or not, but she was going to operate on the assumption she was. How she responded to her question would give her that answer more clearly. Though if the wicked witch accusations started, Elphaba was going to have to put the record straight. Again. It had been a while since Elphaba had played the welcoming committee to a new arrival. It obviously was her time to be so again, if this woman indeed was brought here by the Seal. Hopefully she was one of the nice ones and not one of the psychopaths. Elphaba didn't want to have to explain to Elena, or anyone else, if she'd come back home a bit worse for wear if this encounter went sour.

Anya blinked. The woman that came up to her was traced in magic, there was something abut her she couldn't put her finger on but magic, oh yes, she had it in spades. Human Anya may be now but there were senses that didn't fade, and that was one of them. She was asking about Oz and Anya could only respond in one way. She shrugged. "Well Kansas is what it is and I did sort of expect a house to fall from the sky. Why else would I be in Kansas. Who would want me in Kansas? But look its fine. Whatever dimension this is, I expect there's a spell or other which will hurry me on back to..."

Anya trailed off as she realised her mistake. Hurry her back to what? To death? To nothingnesss. It was a sobering thought and she didn't like to think of the alternative. Because she didn't think she was due to go to heaven.

"Well penis." she said simply, sitting on the curb more than a little defeated. There was nothing to go back to and nowhere that needed her anymore. She had died a stupid pointless mortal death and she was tired of it.

"Can you tell me why I'm here? What this place is and why I seem to have traversed dimensions. I don't think I'm supposed to have done that and I certainly don't have that kind of power anymore. Not alone."
