After missing out on going to the movies the previous night, Allison was especially looking forward to going there tonight. Her, Scott, and popcorn in a dark room was a recipe for success. Even if you took away the popcorn and the movie it still sounded appealing. She’d tried to find excuses to be in his company for a while, now, but now that they were officially a couple once more it was easy to simply declare something ‘date night’ and just go with it. As they walked she turned her head to smile at him, linking her hand in his.

“Last night was nice,” She sighed quietly. “You were right. You’re absolutely great for chasing bad thoughts away.” Allison gave his hand a gentle squeeze. She wasn’t lying. In spite of still being haunted by nearly losing her life to Peter when he was a vampire, being near Scott always seemed to leave her feeling safer. She thought that he was wonderful in that way.

“Still, I could really use a funny movie.” She nodded with a smile. Movies were second to Scott when it came to the chasing away of bad thoughts, but they still worked for a short time. It was nice, she thought, to sit and watch a screen, effectively removing herself from her own world and placing her in another, and not in the creepy way that the Seal did. For a while, she’d be laughing and smiling and not thinking about the things that went bump in the night. She liked the idea of that.

Objectively, Peter knew Scott was right. He would never have willingly hurt anyone like that. Memory was a tricky, bitchy mistress though, trying to sort out what was him and what was just the monster. And either way... it was still his own fault that he'd been turned.

He still hardly dared look at them, even though it was pretty clear at this point that neither of them were feeling at all aggressive towards him. He still couldn't fathom it. He'd seen some of the things people had talked about before, when he was still the monster. The anger and the hurt he'd caused wouldn't just go away. But no one had challenged or threatened him at all since. At least, not where he could see. But that didn't make interaction any easier.

He had to relearn how to do this though, because Allison was right; he would run into them again. All of the survivors, the people who'd been affected by what he'd become... there was no way he wouldn't run into them at some point or another, unless the Seal took them or him back. He knew there was no making things right again, no making it up to them. The least he could do was try to face them. He wasn't ready for it yet though. Many of them might not be either. "Still," he said softly, "I'm sorry. I... I don't want to make things any worse for you." He swayed a bit, uncertain if he should get out of their way or what.

Scott bit the inside of his cheek. This was just getting more and more awkward with every minute that ticked by. None of them really seemed to know what to say or do, here, and one of them needed to take control of the situation before they ended up standing on some side street forever. He wouldn't expect Allison to, and it was pretty obvious Peter wasn't in the right mind to do it either, so that responsibility was going to fall to him. Now, to figure out how to do that, exactly.

"She's right, and I mean, I don't think you're really making anything worse, you know?" He looked at Allison, as if to double-check that he was right in that thought. "It's not like you were seeking us out or something, and...you, you gotta face it, you know? Both of you." he looked between them, before looking at Peter again. "I mean, don't rush it, that'd just make it worse in the end, right? But...nobody can hide forever."

Scott was right and Allison knew it. Nobody could hide forever. While she was pretty collected and believed herself to be handling herself well, she was still a little shaky on the inside. She had to confront her fears stemming from that night. That didn’t mean confronting Peter. He wasn’t the monster he had been that night, but his human self. It would be meaningless and only stir up trouble. She had a feeling that the man couldn’t take much more guilt before he snapped from the weight of all of it. Instead, Allison knew she had to focus on smoothing out the troubles. Gently, not in a confrontational way.

“I have a feeling things are getting better from here on out.” She smiled tentatively, still not exactly a ray of sunshine. A brush with death was a brush with death. It would have taken a lot out of anyone. She sometimes had to remind herself that she was doing well to combat the feelings of shame and weakness, but generally she knew that she was doing better. It was apparent that Scott was doing better. Peter... Well, she could only hope the same for him.
