That whole conversation had pretty much landed her no where. She was still a kid, and she still had a lot of power that could cause massive destruction, but no one really cared to hear about that. So that was that. To say she was pissed off was an understatement. Her apartment was still raw, unfurnished. She needed to find a job to support herself. That was a little more plausible with no rent to pay. She had a little pocket money left, and with some of it she was heading out for coffee.

She'd picked up a sketch pad and pencil the other day. Not a very good pencil, but it would do. Before she left, she rolled up her sleeve to look down at the still black rune on her skin, the ones used in this world for anti-possession. It was permanent, and it was better than any necklace.

Twenty minutes later she was inside a Starbucks, having found a seat in the corner. In front of her was a vanilla latte, and a chocolate cookie that was demanding to be eaten. She'd kicked off her shoes to sit in the over stuffed chair, and leaned back with her sketch pad in front of her. She was stuck here, she couldn't get back. Things had just calmed down for her, things were getting on track, and now it was a whole new world all over again. Only this time in a different reality, but with no Simon and no Jace.

Without even thinking, her hand began to draw.

"Thanks." she said with a slight smile. If it could be defined as very good, she wasn't all to sure. It was just as online. She could draw, she wasn't perfect, but she could draw.

Clary set down her pencil, looking at Phoebe with interest. She'd been under the impression that didn't matter what experience she had or where her life came from. At least someone was asking. She'd got the speech of 'i wont ask questions if you don't want to tell, but we're here if needed' from Buffy but she hadn't said anything then.

"I just came out of a war, actually." she said, looking out the window the a frown. "An uprising, sort of, that I helped stop." and all she wanted was her fireworks, her Shadowhunter training, and Jace. She didn't get any of that now.

Honestly, Phoebe liked to know a little about someone before she started teaching them. It was easier to anticipate things, that way.

"A war? Wow." Phoebe had some experience with that. She'd been embroiled in a magical war between good and evil for almost seven years. "You helped stop it? That's great!" Which meant that she should know something about fighting already. She could sense that Clary was sad and homesick, and all the witch wanted to do was help her feel better.

"Well, that means you might even be able to teach me a thing or two! And since you have some experience, it should be fairly easy for you to pick up what I know."
