Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Enigma and Peter Parker
What: Spaghetti, Drinking and Grieving
Where: Peter's Apartment
When: After the ghosts vanish
Rating: TBD
Status: Closed, Ongoing

Enigma kissed Cole's cheek in thanks, pausing in her apartment long enough to grab a bag, some clothes and the stuff she needed for dinner, before taking off down the road, sneakers hitting the ground with a slapping noise as she pushed her body to it's limits in terms of speed, a feeling of desperation filling her at Peter's sadness. She darted up the stairs three at a time, before knocking on the door to his apartment, panting softly, leaning on her jean clad legs.

She slipped the messenger bag from around her chest, checking on the tomatoes inside, ensuring they weren't bruised, before knocking on the door away, hoping Peter was alright, that he was safe...that he wasn't broken entirely.

She wasn't sure she could put the pieces back together when she was breaking herself.

"Good, they just get in the way," she said with a grin, sipping her wine as she gently rotated the meatballs and stirred the pasta, watching the noodles for a moment before resting her hip against the stove, turning to him.

"Am I being any help?" she asked watching him. "I can shut up and let you be in silence if you need..." she smiled at him sadly. "I'm just...never sure what to do or say at times of loss, no matter how many times I've gone through it.

"I agree," he nodded. "Makes a pretty big mess of things when you're trying to keep up with a bunch of secrets... they end up like lies, one builds on top of another and eventually, you start to lose track."

"Yeah," he nodded, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips, "you are, actually... Keeping my mind off of it, at least for awhile."

“Yup. Especially if you're trying to remember who you've told and who you haven't and the you tell the wrong person and get shot and it's just a mess,” she said with a grin, grabbing a colander and setting it in the sink, running cool water over it as she dumped the cooked pasta, gently cooling the noodles so that they stopped cooking before patting them dry.

“Alright, doll, where are your plates?” she asked, as she returned the pasta to the pan, gently stirring it around the still hot metal so that it cooked off the last of the water and cooled the pan. “And how many meatballs do you want?”

"Well, you've clearly thought this out to further points than I have," he teased her, a small smirk playing on his lips.

He turned to grab two plates from the cabinet,. "Plates." He said, holding them out to her. "Two or three, should be a good start." he chuckled softly.

“I may have kept secrets, once upon a time,” she said with a smile. “Years ago, when I was younger and stupider.” She accepted the plates and set them on the stove, carefully putting the pasta on them before adding the sauce in a puddle on the noodles. She added three meatballs to his plate, carefully slicing one open so that the cheese oozed out a bit, making sure the arrangement was visually pleasing before handing it to him with a grin, turning back to making her own plate, a bit more haphazard with her own.

She grabbed her plate and wine glass, turning to look at him. “Alright, lead me to a chair, cutie. Unless you want me to stand and eat,”

"Young and stupid, isn't that what our generation tends to do best?" He laughed softly, taking the plate she handed to him. Grabbing his wine, he led her into the living room to the couch because tonight? He didn't care about being proper and sitting at a table. Tonight was about distracting from the normal order of things.

Enigma grinned, following him and taking a seat on the couch, carefully setting her glass on the ground and toeing off one of her sneakers, using her toes to keep the glass steady as she twirled pasta around her fork, carefully taking a bite.

She chewed thoughtfully, chasing a meatball around her plate for a moment before giving up and simply eating as she normally would, pursing her lips for the next bite, sucking in the long noodle strand that had escaped the fork, giggling slightly as it flew loose of the fork and hit her chin, leaving a trail of sauce across it. “I'm a bit of a messy eater, sorry,” she said, using her thumb to clean the sauce from her chin, before sucking the finger clean before taking a sip of her wine.
