WHO: Lois & Clark WHAT: Time for a talk. WHEN: September 2nd. Afternoonish. WHERE: The Fortress of Solitude. RATING: TBD!
Slowly, but surely, Kon was making progress. Clark didn't expect for him to bounce back from the personal trauma that came with having one of your greatest enemies showing up at your doorstep overnight, but he couldn't help but hope that Kon would find a way to deal with what had happened so that he wouldn't have to rely on hiding away in the Fortress forever to avoid doing something that he would later regret. It had been well over several days since Clark had decided to focus all of his attention on staying at the Fortress with Kon and, as far as Clark could tell, the world outside of the crystallized walls that contained them was as safe as it could be when trapped in the middle of a silent apocalypse. There were no outbursts of war from Lucifer, no sudden pinch of insanity back in Lawrence - everything was calm, for the moment, which made the process of looking out for Kon a world easier. Clark didn't have to worry about everyone else. At least not any more than he usually did.
And he didn't have to worry about Lois. Not with her here, wandering around the Fortress where he could keep a close eye on her. While the idea behind her coming to the Fortress was centrally focused on her providing moral support to Kon, who really needed it, Clark had to admit that Lois had unintentionally helped Clark too. Clark worried for Lois a great deal on a regular basis, but ever since their conversation about having a serious talk about what was going on between them, Clark quickly discovered that his concerns had quadrupled. With her nearby, Clark didn't have to worry about anything harming her.
...unfortunately, Lois being around ever since that conversation of theirs had also made things more complicated. He didn't have to worry about her getting mugged over a crazy story, but he did have to worry about slipping up and doing something stupid that would ruin whatever it was that was going on with them. Her being around was both a blessing and a curse; with Lois around, he knew that she was safe, but were they?
There really was only one way to find out.
Clark had promised Lois that they would talk. Kon was off somewhere, probably putting another one of his Kryptonian artifacts into fritz mode, and things seemed calm enough. If Clark was going to try to talk to Lois, now seemed like the right time.
In the living area, Clark found the door to the room Lois had been staying in and awkwardly knocked. "Lois?"
