Elena was beyond worried. She also felt guilty. Perhaps if she had pushed more with Elphie, perhaps they could have realized what was happening with Moriarty before all of this had happened. Perhaps they could have found a way to help her. Perhaps she wouldn't be lying on her bed, catatonic, most likely overwhelmed with guilt. Perhaps she'd be eating and living and helping in this fight. Instead she gave no response and Elena was at her wits end. Especially because she was also trying to get Galinda to open up. Oh, she had known that Fiyero had messed with the blond, but she hadn't realized how bad off she was. Galinda hid behind a mask of superficiality and being shallow. Befriending everyone and being popular, but all she wanted was to be loved and thanks to Fiyero, didn't think she was worth it. He'd been gone for months now and Elena still wanted to yell at him. And of course all of this was happening at the exact same time so that both Ozian witches were unable to help the other because they were both hiding away, leaving Elena in the middle while trying to graduate. Which was in a month. May 20th and she'd be a high school graduate. How was that possible? And what of Jeremy and making sure he was okay? He seemed to be adjusting, which was good but Elena still worried. Then there was the Stefan thing. She knew she shouldn't involve herself. After everything he had done back in Mystic Falls, but Elena could never give up on a person, no matter how much they hurt her. She hadn't given up on Damon and she couldn't give up on Stefan, even if she didn't love him the way he wanted her to anymore. Even if more and more, she found herself attracted to Anakin. Which couldn't happen because if he got sent back, he would be dead and she couldn't handle that. Stefan had been safe. Because he could live forever. He wouldn't die and leave her like her parents. Like Jenna. Like everyone. But that didn't matter much now. And here she had to go and fall for Anakin all the while knowing it was borrowed time and she just... she didn't know if she could handle that.
Which was why Elena was sitting in the park instead of heading straight home to make sure everyone was alive and well and to do her rounds. She needed fresh air. She needed to not be around people. Or.. people she knew and had to talk to. People watching was something else entirely. Not that she was actually people watching and was more half between writing and staring ahead blankly, as if trying to make sense of everything and failing.
Things were quiet. At least, quiet for Lawrence. There was Moriarty, of course. Oh how there was Moriarty and how his reach had destroyed the safety of Elphie's home by using Galinda against the green witch, making her fear and paranoid and now they had to protect her. At least Thor was on their side. And Sam. She knew Caroline and Damon and Galinda wouldn't let anything happen to Elphie and they had the ability to actually protect her, but Elena still was thankful they had a hunter and god on their side as well. True, they hadn't really said anything to the others about it. No need to. Those who needed to know did. But she still worried. Even so. Moriarty had been here a while and didn't do much. But she'd read the books. She knew he didn't get his hands dirty. Knew that he'd be found when he wanted to be. So. It was quiet. Nothing Seal related. There was the demon attack at the school, but that had been taken care of.
"What am I going to do..."
Groaning in frustration, the brunette held her head in her hands. This was just... she didn't even know anymore. She could be here, in the middle of the apocalypse and unable to help her friends. Or she could be in Mystic Falls in a war against the Originals without Jeremy there because she'd had him compelled to protect him... and still unable to help her friends. Even with the training from Alaric and her bauble wish, she was still human. Only unable to be protected by magical means thanks to the Doppelganger thing. Staying in that position for a bit, Elena then leaned her head back and just stared at the leaves. She was so tired of this. All she wanted was to be a normal teenager but she hadn't been that since her parents died and somehow she was beginning to realize that she would never have that kind of life no matter where she was. Well, that was just great. Really. It was great.
