Entry tags:leia organa, luke skywalker

Who: Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker
What: Reuniting of the siblings... and more fun explanations. Stupid Seal.
When: Now! (8 pm, 14 January, 2012)
Where: Middle of a crowded mall Alley near Leia's work to the apartment she shares with Anakin and Han.
Rating: Shouldn't be high

It had been a long day. Leia didn't know what it was about the customers today, but really, they had been tiring. So getting home and just relaxing sounded like a wonderful plan at the moment. Leaving the bookstore, Leia had started the walk home when she felt a jolt and familiar presence in the Force.

What... but he...

But as soon as she felt the presence, Leia was overwhelmed by pain from it as well. Wherever he was, Luke was hurt. Badly. Without another thought, the princess raced down the street, dodging through people until she found an alleyway. Well. Okay, the last time she'd been in an alley, she'd been attacked by three demons, but there was no demonic presences this time. Just her brother. Her badly injured brother.

Racing over, Leia knelt down, taking stock of his positioning, as well as what he was wearing. Black. Okay. That meant it was after he found out the truth about Vader. Was it a bad thing that she could tell the basic time frame of where Luke was from this time based on the color of his clothes? But as he'd been prone to white before he lost his hand, it made sense. But she couldn't recall a time where he'd been this badly injured in the year they searched for Han or after. Did Vader do this? People said that he'd redeemed himself, but as Leia avoided anything pertaining to Star Wars, she herself hadn't seen it or read it and as the last thing she remembered from Endor was Han getting jealous because she wouldn't tell him why she was upset, she didn't know what happened following Luke leaving to sacrifice himself to Vader because he still saw good in him.

"Oh, Luke..."

Closing her eyes, Leia started to meditate. She wasn't exactly the most proficient at using the Force to heal someone, in fact, she hadn't actually done so in practice, so she didn't know if it would work. But she knew the concept. Meditation to call forward, to reach out and touch the Force to help the healing process, to quicken it. So Leia focused. This was why she'd wanted to train in the Force to begin with. She wanted to be able to help, and helping meant healing as well. So long as it did something, helped even minutely. After all, Luke was her brother, she couldn't just leave him there, if she could help, she would. There was no doubt in Leia's mind about that. There never had been, even before she had realized the connection she had felt with him went deeper than she had known.

Only moments before, his body had been wracked by the Emperor's attack. There was a little part of him that was afraid he was going to die right there. But then he'd been proven right. Vader had saved him, proving that there was still good within him. He'd proven everyone wrong. Anakin Skywalker still existed. In the act of saving Luke from death, Anakin stood redeemed, and Luke was happy. Not only had his father saved him, but he had also resisted following the same path as Anakin. He could now stand as a true Jedi Knight. But then he was no longer on the second Death Star but in...an alley? He laid there completely and thoroughly confused. Pain was wracking his body, and his head was spinning a bit. Had he been wrong? Was this some trick Vader had conjured? But even in the confusion and pain that wracked his mind, he was still able to sense people in the Force. Vader was not one of them.

So where exactly was he? Moving wasn't exactly something his body liked right then, so he merely just laid there, trying to get his bearings. Turning his head, he took in the surroundings, trying to figure out what planet he was on. The architecture didn't ring any bells with him. But then he sensed that familiar presence in the Force, the one he had a strong affinity for.

Leia... What was she doing here? Well, he could answer that for himself. She could sense him in the same way he could sense her, so it wasn't surprising that she'd be there. No doubt she'd yell at him for surrendering himself to Vader like he had, but he could tell her he had been right. Of course that might make her even madder, but Luke figured that information could come in time. For now, he just needed to deal with the fact that she might yell at him for being stupid. When she got to him, he smiled gently up at her.

"Leia," he said softly. As she went into meditation, he said nothing further, not wanting to break his concentration. It took a minute or two, but the healing she was trying to do did start to actually help. The pain began to subside a little. He closed his own eyes and let her take away some of the pain. Luke wasn't exactly certain how extensive his injuries were, he hadn't exactly had time to take notice of that. But he did know that he could have died and wouldn't have been able to take much more had Vader not helped him. So his guess was that his injuries were extensive, and undoubtedly were beyond Leia's ability to completely heal, but she could at least take the edge off.

The injuries were certainly extensive and as this was Leia's first time actually ever using the Force to heal someone, she was definitely going to be unable to completely heal him no matter how much she wanted to do so. Instead, Leia did as much as she could before it got too draining to maintain and finally she pulled away from what she was doing. She was exhausted but she didn't let it show. After all, she wasn't just the leader of the Rebel Alliance. She was also the youngest Senator and princess of Alderaan. She didn't show weakness, even in front of her brother. She may have only learned of it a year ago before realizing the truth of the matter as she had always felt a connection to Luke she hadn't understood, but in the year, even while he was stuck behind her, pining for her because he didn't realize and didn't want to accept it before being taken... She just knew it to be true. They had always been close since meeting but that didn't mean she was about to show weakness in front of him.

"Let's get you somewhere safe." Because he needed more medical attention than she could give in an alleyway. She had done all she could with the Force, now she had to get him to the apartment she shared with Anakin and Han. Now, she should be confused as to why he hadn't questioned her about what she'd been doing. After all, in their own world, she hadn't been studying the Force, so she shouldn't know how to use it to heal. True, Luke and Yoda had done it for her when she'd gone up against Vader with Luke's lightsaber to help him, but still, she herself shouldn't be able to know how to do so even if she knew now she was connected to the Force. But at the moment, she was too concerned about Luke to pay mind to that. Besides, he had been here before. It was possible he remembered but she'd only find out if that was the case once they were somewhere safe as Leia really had no desire to fight off demons at the moment.

Despite the fact she was definitely vertically challenged in regards to both Luke and Han, (okay, probably most everyone since she was five foot even, no matter), Leia managed to help get Luke up as slowly as possible to keep from aggravating his injuries before supporting him and starting the walk back to the apartment. For one thing, it was closer than the Complex, and as she had gotten a three bedroom one thinking Allana might want to come with them, they had the spare room that Luke could use. She would deal with Han if he protested when it came to be. Because seriously. Brother in need, and given she and Han were going to get married at some point in their future, Luke would be his brother in law, meaning he just had to deal with it. For now, it was getting him to the apartment.

Beyond trying to keep him conscious, not much was said in getting Luke where she needed to and as it was dark out, no one saw Luke Skywalker, just some guy who was injured and someone helping him. So they at least weren't dealing with people freaking out about someone looking like Luke Skywalker in Lawrence. That was the last thing that Luke needed. Getting Luke to the apartment, Leia got him on the couch before she went to make tea. She needed it to stave off the exhaustion and he needed it to help with getting better. At least it seemed Anakin and Han weren't here, because if he didn't remember, well... Anakin would be difficult to explain. Moving to the living room again, Leia handed Luke his tea before she went to get the first aide kit.

All right, yes, Luke probably would have questioned what exactly Leia was doing and how she even knew how to do it, but he wasn't exactly in the best state of mind at the moment. It was taking all of his effort just to stay conscious let alone focus on much else. Later when he wasn't in so much pain he would question it, but for now, it remained unasked. He was grateful for what she was able to do in healing him. It at least took the biting edge off of the pain, allowing him to not feel like he was on the brink of death.

Getting to his feet was painful, but he didn't complain. It was clear Leia was helping him up slowly so as to cause the least amount of pain to him as possible. While he did lean against Leia, he tried not to put his complete weight against her if for nothing else but the fact that she was smaller than he was. The last thing they needed was her faltering and getting hurt. To the best of his ability, he walked with her, though he was still fighting to stay conscious. He hadn't quite anticipated this outcome when he'd surrendered to Vader, but in retrospect, he probably should have. He should've known only something bad would have come out of resisting the Emperor. But it hadn't been for nothing. At least he could say that his injuries weren't for nothing. Not that it would make Leia any less upset with him for having surrendered himself in the first place, but you know, at least they both could know their father had still been in there somewhere.

When he ended up on the couch, he rested there, his head leaned on the back rest. Oh this was going to be horrendous to recover from. And then suddenly, the decoration of the place struck him. All right, this only reinforced the fact he wasn't on Endor or the Death Star. Or, really, any planet he knew. When Leia returned, he lifted his head and took the tea, taking a long drink from it before setting it down for the moment. "Thank you," he said with a little smile. Oh he still hurt, which is why he was remaining still, but at least he wasn't in imminent danger of being killed anymore. Right now, he had no knowledge of where he was or that people were different points in time. So he was merely assuming Leia had sensed him being in trouble and coming to help him. His head was starting to spin, but he couldn't tell if it was from the injuries, from having been moved, or from something else. Or more likely it was from a combination of all three. "Where are we?"

Well, he finally spit out the first question. Which would undoubtedly lead to many others, assuming he had the mental capacity to ask them at the moment. Time would tell in that regard.

Leia was waiting to see if Luke would remember or not. He hadn't said anything to her about it back home, but she was also from a point further along than him so he probably know she'd think he was crazy. On top of the year spent searching for Han and then Endor, it wasn't like there really had been time even if he had remembered. Or he could have had the memories gone there but come back here, she really didn't know how it worked out. But for now, she was going to be patient and just see what happened.

Nodding at the thanks, Leia had been about to go about with the taking care of the injuries that she could with a first aide kit when she heard the question on where they were. And there it was. He didn't know. Because even if he hadn't been able to know for certain, the apartment would have told him what he needed to know. But he didn't. Which meant he didn't remember. Wonderful. Well, it meant he would remember the months of sulking and pining he had done for her, so there was that. But it meant that explaining things would be difficult. Still, he had use of the Force. He'd know she was telling the truth through it, just as he had before and just as Galen had a few days previous.

"We're on a planet called Earth, specifically in the city of Lawrence in the state of Kansas. And no, there are no planets called Earth in our universe but we're not in our universe anymore."

That was the answer to the first question. Now would come the more complicated ones. After all, beyond Leia not wearing the dress she had while in the Ewok village, they were now mostly from the same point in time, so Luke wouldn't realize that something was wrong about that, but she was still going to have to explain the time lines aspect. And the fictional aspect. Oh wonderful. But she'd deal with that because she was Leia Organa. As Senator she hadn't faltered before the Emperor despite her first meeting of him when they were talking of having her married as most girls her age at the time were. She had defied Vader, fought him, led the Rebels. She took what she was given and went with it. And that was just what she was going to do here. Calmly explain to Luke what was going on. They would need to get to the complex eventually for an amulet but she could do that while he slept.

It definitely was for the better that Luke didn't remember having been here before. Otherwise he'd probably feel awkward about all the awkwardness he'd instilled before. And really, neither of them needed awkwardness in their relationship. Leia was his sister and he fully embraced that, and he had stopped with the un-sisterly thoughts of her. But Leia was also his weak spot. After all, that was what had made him snap and nearly lose control, nearly made him veer down the path to the Dark Side. No one threatened Leia if there was anything he could do about it. Though he really did need to work on his rescuing people talents because he still failed at that part.

When she explained where they were, the inevitable confusion came. Brows drawing together in confusion, Luke could tell she wasn't lying. But he was extremely perplexed about the whole not being in their universe anymore. It would account for why the style of decoration was alien to him, but still it was difficult. "Not in our universe? What do you mean?" He looked at her, trying to understand what had happened. Not that he wasn't grateful to not be on the Death Star anymore, but if he wasn't there, he'd expected to show up on Endor at least. But Earth? That was a strange name for a planet. Luke knew he didn't exactly have to ask why he was here. He had the feeling that answer would come in Leia's explanation of not being in their universe anymore. So he would merely wait and see what her response encompassed before he asked further questions. Though he really had no doubt he'd have a million more questions for every answer she gave him.

At least in Leia's favor, Luke wouldn't react badly to discovering they were fictional here. He'd just learn to avoid those movies and everything. After all, he didn't need to see what he'd lived through, nor did he want to know about his future. Well he would be curious about how the Jedi would fare with the Emperor dead, but he would at least try not to know his future. Assuming they ever got back to their own universe, he'd rather discover it all for himself as he lived through it.

She knew the question was coming, how could it not? Yet Leia still wasn't exactly sure on how to answer it. Okay. How had she explained it to Galen? Then again, she barely had known Galen, he was the reasoning behind the seal of the Alliance but it wasn't nearly as complicated to explain to someone who she barely knew. Luke though? Well... it was going to be difficult.

"Basically, we were dragged here by something called a seal. We aren't the only ones, though. There are many people here who have been displaced. Not only that, it can bring people from different points in your timeline. Such as Galen Marek.. he just showed up as well..." And the children. Not that they actually were children here. But it was going to be fun to explain. And right then, Anakin walked in. Smiling faintly to him to let him know that she would explain everything, she watched him head to his room. Something had happened, he seemed upset but she would see what was wrong once she had Luke more settled.

"That was Anakin, he's one of my sons with Han... there is also Jacen and Jaina though they don't live here with me. Also, Jacen's daughter with Tenel Ka, whom he just married is here. Her name is Allana. As I said, different points in the time line..."

At least she wouldn't have to mention Cade, that would be even more awkward. Not really wanting to deal with the shock or freak out Luke might get from that given how he was, Leia quickly changed topic. He understood the time line discrepancies, so now to move onto talk of the dangers of this place. Because that was clearly easier to handle than talk of children from a marriage that had yet to happen.

"The main enemy here is Lucifer, they have a religion here called Christianity and he's from that mythos. Though I suppose it's not really a myth as he exists. There are demons which are possessed people. We'll get you an amulet to protect against possession tomorrow or at least I can go and get it for you while you recover. Basically unexplainable things happen here at random. A few weeks ago involved people singing all of their thoughts... there really is no way to know just what will happen or when, so you have to be prepared for anything."

Of all the possible explanations Luke thought he might hear, a seal was not one of them. Not that he really knew what to expect, but he didn't exactly like suddenly being pulled out of the reality he knew. Not that anyone did like such a thing, but there you have it. So as Leia explained the basics of how they were and the fact people were pulled from different points, he just started to let that sink in when he saw Anakin come into the room. Of course, he was confused by who the young man was, but he could sense he was Force sensitive. And then came the bombshell that he was Anakin, Leia's son...with...Han?

Naturally, Luke wanted to push the Han topic. Why? Because he was protective of his sister. Han was handy sometimes, yes, but that didn't mean Luke had to like the man. Well okay, he did actually like him to some extent, but he did butt heads with the man far more often than not because of Leia. Luke only wanted the best for his sister, and sometimes Han grated on him. But they could at least generally work together. They just did so with a lot of griping. But it really didn't take very long for Luke to grasp this concept of being displaced. The different times thing did tie in to that, but he was trying to grasp all the people that were here.

"So there are a lot of our family members here?" Of course it was hard to digest that part. Especially because he was still stuck on the Han thing. He was fairly certain Leia knew he was stuck on the Han thing, but he wasn't going to push that topic right now. Well all right, that was a lie. "Does that mean Han is here as well?" Because he wanted to be prepared for that. While he should prepare himself to the likes of, say, Jacen, it was Han that he wanted to be prepared for seeing. His logic made complete sense to him, really. Leia was his sister, he would always be defensive and protective of her.

Then the conversation moved to the evil that existed here. Not exactly what he expected, it would take some getting used to as he was fairly certain this Lucifer didn't use the Force. Therefore it would require a wholly different training to combat. In his current condition, he really shouldn't be thinking of training or fighting, but that's where his mind went. "So you're saying there's a set evil here, but anything can happen at any given time? I'm starting to far prefer fighting the Empire. At least we knew what to expect with them." No one ever burst into song for no reason during the rebellion. Though it might have been interesting if that had happened. Hopefully there were some more redeeming qualities to this place. After all, it couldn't be all bad. Leia was here, that was a very strong positive there.

Why did Luke have to push the Han topic? No, really, why? Oh, she knew why. Protective brother and all of that. Still, why push it now. Though she supposed it would have been wise to mention Han being here as well. After all, the older man was going to show up here eventually as he did indeed live in the apartment and shared a room with Leia. Oh, that was going to be fun when Luke realized that bit of information out. Already Leia could feel a headache coming. But she wasn't about to abandon her brother. He could make his own choice on if he wished to stay here or move to the complex once he was better.

"Yes, Han is here as well. I'm sure you'll be seeing him at some point tonight. But those are the only family members we have here at the moment, though that's not to say more won't come through the Seal..."

Really, Han was the least of Luke's worries, at least in Leia's opinion. She knew that Jacen would have felt his return through the Force, but she didn't know just how he'd respond. Given how he'd been before, it was going to be yet another headache for Leia. But no matter. They went on to the rest of the conversation which was easier to handle.

"That's exactly what I'm saying. And I agree. I prefer knowing what to expect so that plans can be made. There's no set base of operations, no leadership. Some try to place it on those from this world, others try to take it on themselves, but with so many people here from so many different places, it's hard to form a team that will listen to one person, and it's hard to prepare attacks when you never know what to expect or when to expect it."

It was something Leia was still dealing with, despite being here nearly a year now. It left her feeling ill at ease. She studied with all of the Force users, really, trying to ground herself and get a rounded understanding, but even that didn't feel like much when she was used to running operations to take out the evil forces at work here.

"Also, we're considered fictional here. There are movies about our lives, books that expand on them and go into the past before even our parents and well into the future. I try not to read or watch them, though."

Perfect. Just perfect. Han was here, too, but Luke shouldn't have been surprised by that. Han always seemed to be in the same place either he or Leia were, and when he wasn't they were trying to save him. But Luke didn't need to get all wound up about that right now, it wouldn't do any good with the fact he was injured currently. He needed to rest and heal before he could get worked up about anything. Letting himself get worked up would injure himself further and undo the healing Leia had managed to perform on him. And then he'd have a very irate sister on his hands, and he didn't need that either. So he just let the Han thing slide now after the initial comment.

So if all those people had come through the Seal to this place, it was entirely possible their father, or mother, or anyone else from their past, present or future could show up as well. Obi-Wan could show up here. Or his aunt and uncle that had raised him. The infinite number of people that could show up here would give him a headache if he thought about it for too long. So he instead turned his attention to the rest of the conversation. It was less complicated and easier to digest without giving himself a headache.

"If there is no set leadership of any sort, how do they expect to fight coherently? I can understand how so many people from so many different places may not easily form a united front, but there should be some sort leadership in place to help deal with the threats and how to respond." Luke knew the value of having someone in charge giving guidance to those to fight. Winning a war took tactics, not a several factions of people trying to achieve the same goal but going about it in different ways. That way of thinking usually only lead to bad endings.

At the statement that they were fictional here, Luke looked at her, clearly a little startled by that. "About us?" He shouldn't be shocked that there were stories, he all ready knew there would stories about them in their own world, but to know that they were here on a planet not in their own universe? That was a little unnerving. "Have you seen them or anything?" He was curious, though he shared Leia's sentiment of wanting to avoid those. There was no sense in reading about his past or his future when he would live it for himself back home.

Oh, Leia would be far from amused if Luke had gone and gotten himself injured again because he was upset about Han's presence here. Yes, the two tended to butt heads more often than not, but they were still friends. At least Leia liked to think so. Sure, Han had been jealous of Luke and vice versa. But now that everyone involved knew that Luke was Leia's brother, why couldn't they drop it? And really, Han's presence was no reason to go and undo the healing she had done on him. It was childish.

Thankfully, the topic was dropped and they could discuss the lack of leadership. Which really was quite strange for Leia. It really was just because she was used to running things, had been in the Senate from a young age. The formation of the Rebel Alliance. It was ingrained in her. And here she was, working at a book store. It didn't leave her feeling very helpful in the fight. Yes, she had helped defeat Famine, but still. That was a one time thing. What about larger attacks? What about the small demons that needed to be taken out? Exorcised?

"I really don't know. I've thought about trying to get some order of balance here, but given anything can come through the Seal, there's never any way of knowing what we're up against until it happens, so people have to rely on those from the same world. Everything is left to chance. There is no base of operations to attack. Nothing to get a pin point in the end on the enemy. It's extremely frustrating. They do offer classes though at the complex as well as a week long camp to help you prepare for the basic evils, at least those from this world. How to exorcise demons and protect yourself against the things that show up from this place."

Sometimes Leia wondered if the other Force users felt the same. She knew that, at least her children, had all been involved in wars and battles. Surely this sitting around and waiting wasn't doing anything for them, either. Even if it allowed them second chances at life, love. A chance to be herself and not hide her identity for Allana.

And then Luke was asking about the movies and books and Leia nodded at the first question.

"There are. By a man named George Lucas apparently.... He supposedly created our world. As for if I've seen them or read them? No. I know Han did during an incident where people ended up tethered to other people. The woman he ended up with, Abby, apparently was a huge fan of the movies so made him watch them. They actually have conventions based on them, which Anakin decided to drag me to at one point. It was... very strange...."

That was one way to put it.

"Also... you were here before. In case people start talking to you as if they knew you. The seal which brought us here can also send people back. Sometimes they return with their memories, sometimes without."

Okay. What else...

There were times when Luke and Han could get along. And now that everyone was straight on their relationship to one another, Luke couldn't quite let go of the jealousy. Though now it came from being Leia's brother. He was fairly certain that he'd be jealous of anyone that tried to Leia's love just because of their relationship. Oh he well knew Leia could handle herself, but what kind of brother would he be if he didn't express concern and protect her sometimes? Course he usually failed at the protecting her part, but at least now that he was more focused and not as chaotic within himself, he could work on that. Because really, he needed to be competent and not always leave his sister to get herself out of jams all the time.

All right, so he found this seal thing to be quite strange, but more than that the fact that there was no organized structure to those who had been displaced. There should be some sort of coalition, some line of defense and order to them. People always needed someone to follow, that's how wars were fought. There always needed to be leaders to keep people from running off on their own and fighting in their own way. That was the quickest way to get a war lost.

"At least there are classes to learn how to protect yourself from the things in this world. When I'm fully recovered, I'd like to take these classes. But what worries me is that there's no one to organize people when something bad happens. Of course, I realize that having a coalition of many people and making sure every world we're all from is represented is rather silly and would only lead to in-fighting, but there should be some sort of council or something where people can quickly activate defenses, identify the threat and quickly get the rest informed and organized to fight it. Not having leadership is the quickest way to lose a war. And from what you've all ready told me, losing this war would have dire consequences."

He was all ready concerned about this place and the war happening. This was a good sign, proving further that he was definitely not the same Luke that had been here previously. He wouldn't just sit around and wallow in his own misery. No, he'd stand up and do whatever he could to help. Once his injuries were healed, of course. Because he didn't need to go aggravating them further.

"I don't think I have any desire to see them or read them either. Poor Han having to watch them." He had no idea who this Abby was, but he was fairly certain it must've been painful for Han to have to sit and watch his life be played out before him like that. Though Luke quirked a brow at the mention of conventions. "Conventions?" He was curious what that meant, really. Though he was all ready making a mental note to stay very, very far away from them.

Though he paused when Leia told him he'd been here before. Well, that wasn't something he expected to hear.

"I was?" He was about to ask what he'd done here, but he figured he didn't want to know the answer to that. After all, he probably didn't remember for a good reason, so he would actually leave that topic alone. "I will be prepared for anyone to talk to me like they know me."

It was refreshing to have someone around who agreed about the lack of leadership. She knew that Jacen felt similar but given his history she also understood why he didn't really try to organize anything. He had his moments when he tried to assert his authority though it usually was only within the family, the last being when he declared that none of the females of their family were allowed to go to the library as each one of them had been hit on at least once there. It was more amusing than not, though, so Leia didn't mind it.

"I agree. People usually look to the Winchesters and those who are native to this world for leadership, but they have stated they are not the actual leaders though will help however they can with identification as well as the training camp that is a week. But that is their decision. From my understanding, they tried to have a more centralized committee before, representatives from each group so to speak but it didn't work out. They briefly considered it again but those plans fell through."

Sighing as she felt that it could have been a good idea yet in the end hadn't panned out, Leia merely shrugged before finishing up with using the first aide kit on Luke and sitting down on the couch beside him.

"Conventions. Basically large group of people with similar interests meeting up at a location, often paying and finding memorabilia as well as dressing up in costume."

It had been angering to see people glorifying the slave outfit she'd been forced to wear after being captured by Jabba but she managed to keep from lashing out people. Though the idea of Luke ever managing to save her before she saved herself would be laughable. So far, there was no incident where this had occurred. Perhaps in their future it would, but as of now, Leia was the one who usually did the rescuing, or self rescuing when necessary. But so long as Luke didn't get ridiculous in his role as brother, she wouldn't mind it too much.

And then the comment at being here. Nodding some, Leia looked to Anakin's door before back to her brother.

"That is probably best. It seems that people show up here with no memory so it's not uncommon, but i figure it's best you know that now instead of finding out at a later date."
