Who: Booth and Kitty
What: Booth is tied up and not in the fun way.
When: today!
Where: Bones' apartment
Warnings: grumpy Booth is grumpy

He was gunless and cuffed with his own handcuffs. It was a little humiliating and more then a little inconvenient when Bones left for work and left him computer and phoneless. He wasn't allowed to check on Sam, or allowed to check the boards, he had no idea what was going on in the outside world save for what Bones told him. It was more then enough to make him go stir crazy. She'd left him several things to do of course, she wasn't entirely cruel, despite his current mindset thinking it was cruel and unusual. She'd taken him out to dinner the one night then brought him back to her place only to lock him up and refuse to free him. At first he thought it was a joke. Then the hours ticked by and he realized she really wasn't letting him up. She'd left for the lab, and left him behind sitting on her bed. He wasn't even having fun with handcuffs. It was just handcuffs and lonely boredom.

Booth wasn't sure what Bones expected him to say or do to get free, he was wracking his brain for the answer. But his brain was getting tired. He could only handle so long of silent meditation. He got bored. It was worse then sitting in Sweets office waiting for him to say something. Nobody was there, so he pulled open one of her drawers near her bed and picked out a science book. The human skull. It was thick. Too think for someone to have bedside for light reading, but it was Bones after all. So he thumbed through it. She wasn't there to let him out of his handcuffs, and day time television really was too terrible to bother turning on. So he flipped through the pages and tried to read a paragraph out loud. "The human skull. This medical illustration shows an anterior view of a human skull. This anatomical artwork was created by medical illustrator Alison Schroeer of Schroeer Scientific Illustration to show the bones of the human head." Booth made a face. Leaning over to her drawer he pulled out a pen and circled the word anterior. With a line connecting to the spine of the page where there was a small space to write, he jotted down; Ten dollar word in scrabble. Next to the word anatomical was another note. Bet this guys only friend was the dictionary. Another next to the end of the paragraph; Squint.

He flipped to another section and pulled out some papers of another paragraph and left her several more fun phrases to find while she read her book of impossible words. Booth didn't know how she did it. She was a genius of course, but how did even geniuses not fall asleep with books like the one he held laying around by their bed. Or was that why they kept them there? Were they even secretly bored of it and used the book to help themselves fall asleep. After he wrote on a few of the pages, he got bored and closed the book. Leaving it on the bedside he laid down on his back. His strangely colored socks showing, his white suit buttoned down to his tank top, and slacks still on. After dinner that night with Bones he'd planned on going into work, instead she'd told him he was taking time off and it wasn't a request. But he wasn't allowed to go home, and thus was stuck in most of his work suit. He sighed and felt the empty gun holster by his side in annoyance. Even the one normally strapped to his ankle was gone. Bones had left him unarmed and he felt naked without his weapons. Uncomfortable Booth and Bored Booth were two dangerous personalities to let free.

Kitty didn't really care where Booth's mood was at the moment, if she were honest. After finding out the stupid stuff he was ready to do he got exactly what he deserved. If he couldn't think through the consequences of what he was trying to do, then he didn't need to be left free to do whatever he wanted. He'd do exactly what he had contemplated doing; Kitty didn't doubt that at all, Booth was the kind of guy that did exactly what he thought was best even if it was stupid. So, the fact that he wasn't thinking things through in this situation had him getting exactly what he deserved. He was basically grounded, and he really deserved it, actually.

Kitty rolled her eyes at him saying whatever. Wasn't she the one that was closer to teenage years here? Kitty looked up to Booth in many ways, not just because he was taller either. He was a good guy, he was a good friend to have too. The small mutant rolled her eyes at Booth's words. "You don't get it, Booth. You're not thinking things through because your friend is involved, for one. And for two sometimes the best thing a friend can do is be there for the friend, as in being there for Sam and not trying to run off and be dumb. Brady can be taken care of later, I think Sam's wellbeing matters a whole lot more." She pointed out. "What deal?" She didn't know what deal but if it involved Lucifer she sure wasn't going to support the deal.

Kitty looked at Booth and a big part of her didn't believe him. "No, you don't always need guns. You're on a safe place, you're not going to have to defend your life here." Kitty pointed out, uncrossing her arms. "And without the guns you're still a lot of things, Booth. You're still a good dad, a good friend, and a lot of things." She'd take the chance for now, but if he tried to go anywhere he'd end up stuck somewhere that he wouldn't be able to get out of. She reached out, grabbing his arm and phased, letting the handcuffs fall through his arm so that they were off.

"There, but I mean it. Don't try to go anywhere or I'll stick you in the floor or the wall."
