Who: Booth and Parker and an NPC principal
What: Grumpy Booth is grumpy and shows it to the school official.
When: today
Where: Parker and Phil's school.
warning: none really, buut a scowly mc scowl FBI agent.
Booth had been in the middle of a homicide when he received Parker's text. He was questioning the victim's parents, trying to find a killer when a few minutes later his cell phone rang and he was forced to excuse himself. Seeley was less then amused. Parker knew not to call or text him during school hours unless it was an emergency. But the Principal did not, and Booth would have to instruct her. He wasn't just a normal nine to five kind of parent. Killers didn't work on a timed schedule unfortunately. It would have made his job easier. But he knew what he signed up for when he put on his badge and suit the first time twenty five years ago.
Now he was practically the head of the Kansas department field office. He'd moved up in rank thanks to Hardison's last case. It had been a big deal to the FBI, and it came with perks. No coin though, which made Booth a little unhappy, but he would still work his way toward getting his face on a coin. But in order to do that he needed to be able to catch bad guys, and work uninterrupted. Something the principal didn't seem to understand. So he peeked his head back into the home of the victim and apologized, rescheduled and got into his crossover that was waiting, parked out front.
He was not happy. It showed on his face as he pulled up to Parker's elementary school and made his way toward the office. He spotted his son, and raised an eyebrow at him in a disapproving sort of way when the principal came out of her office and took him inside. She shook his hand and explained the situation. "That was the emergency?" Booth stated in a less then thrilled manner as he looked her over. "Do you understand that I'm on a time limit here, catching a murderer and you can't use your brain for ten seconds to hear my kids point of view?" The woman looked astonished..and maybe he should have held back a little on basically calling her a moron, but he was under pressure and unimpressed with her ability to act on her own. "Parker knows better then to fight without a good reason. " She stood there and was uncertain how to react to the intensity. Booth just smirked a little. "Don't worry, we'll be getting out of your hair today. " With that, Booth turned and joined his kid in the office. "Get your stuff kiddo, we're going home."
