Who: Brynna, Claudio and Sarah Connor
What: A date to start for the adorkable teens with possession quickly to follow
When: Sunday afternoon
Where: On the way to the mall
Rating: Probably R with the possession and all
Status: incomplete

Brynna knew that she should be focusing on what was going on because things were really, really, really bad and bound only to get worse.  But she'd really enjoyed going out with Claudio Friday night.  Their movie date had made her forget for two and a half hours that they were facing down an apocolypse and let her feel like a sixteen-year-old girl with a good-looking older boyfriend.  They'd held hands through most of the movie and she'd gotten pleasant shivers when he'd put his arm around her waist as they were walking back to the complex.

She'd been only sort of surprised when he'd knocked on her door Sunday morning.  The fact that he'd shown up with donuts and steaming cups of coffee made her smile.  She was starting to see that even though Claudio was on the shy side it also meant that he was thoughtful.  And when he had suggested that they spend the day together it just seemed like a perfect interlude before things eventually went south on the demon front.  He'd only winced slightly when she'd suggested that they go to the mall.  She couldn't admit her ulitior motive to him because she knew how boys were but she was determined to get some more clothes for him. The same impulse that made her force a new wardrobe on Kendra was at work with that one.

She glanced up at Claudio as they began their walk to the mall, this would be their third date and she had to admit that she was starting to wonder if Claudio was ever going to work up the nerve to kiss her.  She was an assertive girl but there were just some things that the boy should do and initiate the first kiss was one of them in Brynna's book.  She hoped he would do so soon, she was starting to go mad waiting for it.

Sarah Connor, or at least her physical body, had been scoping out the mall for the past few hours. The demon within her knew it was a good place to target unsuspecting people for the taking. Sarah herself knew it was a good strategy too, which the demon was using as well. Find the target(s). Initiate contact. Play your part. Have backup. Seal off all possible exits. Oh yes, it was definitely using tactics that the woman had knowledge of, using them for evil purposes. And there were about five to six other demonic hosts in the area. She'd input all their numbers into her phone for easy access when it was time to strike. Yet another tactic that the demon had 'stolen' from her. The plan had been good so far; they'd managed to gather about three or more unsuspecting meatsuits into their fold. A shame none of them were.. special. But that could be rectified soon enough. She was trusted. She was a mother, as well as a teacher for any who would wish to learn. Well.. obviously not now, due to those pesky salt lines and traps all over the complex. But there was a way around those, albeit a little indirectly. If demons couldn't go in? Then they would just draw the people out and then take them over. That had been the main plan so far. Grab more suits, any hosts (though any with fighting talents or super abilities were a bonus), and bring them into the fold. Then when their lord came out of his prison, when Lucifer was freed.. ohhh. It would be a great new world.

As she wandered outside the building, she stopped in surprise as she spotted two people she had instantly recognized. Claudio Kilgannon and Brynna Adams. Now this was precious, a date! But this was also good. Two suits instead of one. The demonic entity drew upon the host's memories.. oh yes. Great choices. Brynna was a very good fighter, skilled with a staff. And Claudio? He had <>powers</i>! Invisibility, phasing, and resurrection of others. He would be a great addition to their ranks. As would the girl as well, she also had skills and experiences to draw upon too. Sarah waved, smiling as she seemed to recognize them both. "Hey," she said with a nod and a kind smile (as much as this host could make without the demon feeling repulsed, anyway) as she was a few feet away from them. Sarah would have spoken and made conversation at this point. So that's what she did. "Are you two on a date?"

There was a part of Brynna, a large part, that was worried that she'd found a boy right before things were going to blow up and she knew that they were going to blow up soon. The tension in the air seemed to hum, it was like the complex was fully of warriors preparing for battle which, in many ways, was accurate. She knew that as soon as she and Claudio got back that she was probably going to be hankering down herself. She felt as physically prepared as she could make herself but she needed to start preparing herself mentally for what was in store.

Brynna was a little startled to see Sarah outside of the complex but smiled and leaned into Claudio just a little bit, "Yeah, just doing a little shopping," she answered.

Brynna had no reason not to trust Sarah, she was one of them and she knew that there was no doubt as to her loyalties.

Claudio's face had lit up once Sarah approached them--he hadn't noticed, being far too busy wondering about Brynna. Would it be rude to ask about the things she liked? Maybe he should buy her something here. That's what Newo always liked. But Brynna wasn't Newo. She was--she was amazing. He hated to admit it, but, probably moreso than Newo, and they'd been going out for years.

He thought nothing when Sarah approached him, save for the fact that she didn't seem the type for the mall. But neither was Claudio, and she seemed happy to meet them. In a strange way, he kind of saw Sarah as a bit of a mother figure form their pancake conversation earlier. A mother that could kick-ass and take names, of course, but he'd really appreciated her.

Brynna confirmed they were on a date and Claudio automatically put his arm around Brynna's shoulders, offering a rare full smile. He couldn't help it--the fact that the younger girl confirmed it out loud meant the world to him. "She's doing the shopping," he clarified, "I'm going to hold the bags."

He paused, tilting his head to the side. "It's good to see you here, though I never really pegged you for a mall person. What're you getting?"

"Nothing wrong with a little shopping now and then," Sarah said with a light smile. This was good, they were still unsuspecting. And why not? She was a mother, no one usually suspected them of foul play. Well.. unless a crime was involved. And they knew each other too. Sarah had been training alongside a few at the complex, had even spoke to them on an individual level as well. There was little if anything that would bring suspicion on her. "You two seem like a good couple," she added, knowing that in a normal situation, she would have commented that much at least.

She nodded at Claudio, now wasn't that precious? Holding bags for the girl. Sarah wondered if Brynna knew about his abilities too. Not that it mattered much right now. She answered him then, "I'm looking for more things to get for my class, mostly knives, real or fake. Turns out they were out of stock for the ones I want, so they'll call when they get back in stock. And.. well, I need another leather jacket too. So what kinds of things are you two getting? Are you both wearing your amulets too?" She had a necklace on too, though it was under her shirt so they wouldn't see what kind it was. But it definitely wasn't the anti-possession amulet. Her hand causally went into her pocket, then pulled her cellphone out. Opening it and feigning disappointment at not seeing any calls.

She stared at it for a moment, pushing a couple buttons.. a speed dial comand that would call the number to one of the other demons in the area. But when she saw it dialing out, Sarah quickly closed it, canceling the call. Her expression looked a bit embrassed and amused at the same time. "Sorry... guess I still need to get used to operating these devices, I mainly just use them to call numbers. This one can text and take pictures too. Haven't really had a chance to get a hang of the technical side of this thing, least for the advanced features."

Brynna nodded in sympathy, "I had trouble when I first got here too. Electronics had changed a lot since the time I'm from."

She didn't want to say it but she was starting to get anxious to get going. She wanted to spend time with Claudio and maybe find a good first gift to give him. Standing around talking to Sarah, no matter how nice she normally was did not help her in accomplishing her goal. Not to mention the fact that she thought it was kind of odd that Sarah clearly made a call and then deliberately hung up.

Brynna touched her neck and realized that she wasn't wearing her amulet, she'd taken it off in the shower and had forgotten to put it back on after Claudio's surprise visit. Something kept her from mentioning that fact aloud and that same something was telling her that it was a little weird that someone was asking her about her amulet. But she ignored it because she knew that she was just being paranoid after the whole "let's run off and find Lilith scheme.

"Man," Claudio shrugged. "Technology's different where I'm from, but way more sophisticated than this, no offense. It's the whole.. space ship and different planets things."

He didn't seem too bothered about anything that was happening--and why should he? Brynna may have been suspicious but Claudio remained happy. He was in a really good mood and had been since Friday. Who knows? Maybe he could share a few secrets with Brynna.

The amulet question was out of the left field, but Claudio only raised an eyebrow. "Yeah. Taking it off would be kind of stupid, wouldn't it?" He asked, before glancing over at Brynna. The brunette seemed anxious, a little wary, and the artist cleared his throat. He hated parting ways awkwardly, but it always seemed to happen to him.

"It was nice seeing you, but uh, I guess we'd better get going. You know. Shopping. Brynna, after this do you mind if we hit another place? It's near her, but I want to pick up some canvas..."

Sarah thought over what Brynna's gesture meant. She didn't actually voice anything about an amulet. Could it be that she didn't have one on? Ohh, that would be just perfect. But maybe she did have one, it was just under the shirt, chain hidden by a collar. She would know soon enough one way or the other. "It would be, yes," she said, answering Claudio. "I was just asking because of how much more dangerous it is. It's down to the last seals from what we were told earlier. Those things, demons.. they could be anywhere out here. Best to be prepared than not." And that was likely what the real Sarah would think, too. She also would have understood that this was a date and that there was no need for a third wheel and thus part ways. To keep contact with them much longer would be suspicious.

Ohhh, the demon could just feel the sudden smugness of the true Sarah Connor inside her. As if daring her to blow the cover and do something stupid. But none of them were. So, the demon would have to keep acting. "Yes, of course," she said with a nod. "I got some business to attend to. You'll see the new items tomorrow. You two enjoy your date." And at that, she continued walking, going past them, seemingly going on her way. It would seem she was departing. Some demons might have even seen it as giving up. But she wasn't. It was simply another strategy. Sarah Connor was definitely good at tactics about this kind of situation. And the demon in her body was using that knowledge. She had actually instructed a group of demons a day before, probably six to eleven of them, to hang around various spots near the mall, all in different walks of life, to blend in by working as vendors or walking among crowds. One such spot for a possible snatching was about half a block away, in an alley.. just on the path to the mall. A path that the nice couple was heading for, if the mall was still their destination. And if one of them called out, Sarah could still play the good guy and come to the rescue, she could still play her part until it was time to act. As Sarah continued on her way of departure, now separated by twenty to thirty feet away from them now, she took out her phone and left a text message to the number she had.. err, accidentally dialed: Targets nearby. Location, Delta-52, you're up. Acquire girl first. Boy will follow.
