Entry tags:romana, the master

WHO: Romana and the Master
WHAT: Not a date, totally not a date. That would be wrong.
WHERE: The resturant he mentioned
WHEN: Early Evening. 12th Feb
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

Romana was more than a little nervous. It wasn't that it was dinner, it wasn't even the socialising really. It was everything else. Had she really just agreed to go for a meal out with the Master. She knew how it looked, she wasn't stupid, of course she knew that. But she was more than aware that he'd been different lately, charming even. And somehow...she just got the sense that maybe his problems had changed him. Possibly humbled him. So she'd go, and she'd help him readjust to this strange world, falling as it was to the end of its days. They'd help the humans prevent it. They'd do all they could, and from there, hopefully something better would come of this place. Or maybe...

It was possible people would start to go home. Not that Romana wanted to, home was death or forgetting who she was at best. She didn't want that. She'd grown to care about this place and the people here. And so she hoped that if they won they'd get to choose. Maybe some would prefer to stay, to help. She understood the ones that didn't of course but if she had any say then she would stay right where she was, teaching the young ones, Somewhere she finally felt she belonged, she had Leela here, she had friends, and she had a chance to help the Master, become something other than the meglomaniac she knew. She had dressed in a flowing maxi dress in a pretty floral design and tied her hair back. Not that she was planning to impress him, she just quite liked the outfit, and one dressed for dinner did they not. It was the done thing as far as she was concerned and she was more than happy to comply with the rule. She never got to be fancy here. They'd meet, they'd have food and they'd talk. That was all they needed to do, that was all she was expected to do.

And maybe it would actually be fun. Maybe it would be something good in the midst of so much sadness.

The Master had been feeling so good lately. He felt like himself again. Now, he was actually able to think, though the drums were still there, but he didn't have the complete insanity, the constant state of death or the insatiable hunger plaguing him anymore. He was definitely his Saxon self once again. Charm was his strong suit again, and he even had a grasp on his hypnotic abilities again. But the icing on the cake for him was the fact he definitely seemed to be getting somewhere with Romana. He wasn't a complete idiot, he knew she undoubtedly still had reservations about him given everything he'd done in his past, but she was giving him a chance, and he wasn't about to let it slip through his hands.

Always the opportunist, the Master was more than ready to get a leg up on the Doctor, if the man ever showed up. It seemed that the Doctor had gone, he hadn't heard from him or sensed him, but he didn't mourn it completely. He liked that he wouldn't be interfered with, unless Martha decided to get involved, though he knew the woman would be watching him closely. But as long as he could on keeping Romana on his side, then he'd have someone he could always rely on, someone who'd back him up when he needed it.

The Master was dressed in a suit with a tie. He could possibly be little over-dressed, but now that he looked like a normal person instead of an escapee from an asylum and he wanted to make a statement that he felt better, felt normal for once. He went to the restaurant, a bit of a spring to his step. He almost did a dance move, but refrained from it. He stepped into the restaurant and glanced around for the ex President. He couldn't help but see the irony in the fact that she was an ex President and he was an ex Prime Minister. When he spotted the woman, he smiled and walked over to her.

"Hello, Romana," he greeted in a smooth tone. He was clean-shaven and his hair was a darker blond, not the white that it had been before he had been restored.

He looked very well. Very changed from who he had been before, less crazed looking. Oh yes he really had been restored and Romana was more than pleased to see the change in him. It was wonderful to see it, really it was, and she felt all the happier about agreeing to his dinner date offer. Not that it was a date. They weren't dating as such. Why her mind had gone there she didn't know and she pushed the thought down lest he glimpse it in her. They couldn't have that. So she stood as he walked toward her to return the hello with an appropriate hug. Not too long, just long enough. And a few compliments. That was all perfectly fine. Perfectly appropriate for two friends...aquaintances meeting for dinner. No. Friends, there was nothing wrong with friends. "You look lovely" she told him breaking back from the hug and beckoning for him to sit down as well as she busied herself with the menu. She wasn't flustered at all, no that would have been terribly embarrassing if she had have been. She was just enjoying her meal with her friend.

That was all this was after all, just a meal with a friend. Not that Leela or Martha would see it like that. They'd hate it and she knew they'd hate it. But all the same, she was here and she wasn't going anywhere. She'd remain here and have food with the Time Lord that had caused her friends so much heartache. The things he'd done, she knew trusting him was a ridiculous concept but still she did, for good or for ill.

He could change, she knew that. He'd been humbled by his experiances and she knew, she truly believed that he'd learned from that. Maybe she was naieve but she couldn't help it. She had to believe the best of the only Time Lord left around her. Because he was one of her people. "Are you feeling completely better?" she asked him as she moved to sit down opposite him.
