Who: Castiel & Ruby
Where: Dublin, initially
When: Backdated to New Year
What: A demon and an angel walk into several bars....
Warnings: Drunkenness, shenanigans and theology
Castiel was not sure what had driven him to accept Ruby's offer. Granted, he was rapidly becoming a connoisseur of 'really bad ideas', but this had to take the majority of proverbial awards as far as really, really bad ones went. It was, he had to confess, hard to think of many things lower than drinking with a demon.
And yet accept he had. It seemed like the thing to do. Much as it pained him to admit, he had come to rather enjoy their awkward rapport (was that a sin? Was this 'falling'?) and, worse, to genuinely believe that while she might not be good per se she was... trying to do the right thing, at least. Wasn't that all his Father asked, when it came down to it? Wasn't His forgiveness extended to even the most wayward son, or daughter?
… at the very least, this introduction to alcohol might serve to stop him thinking.
Under the demon's direction (and that phrasing wasn't uncomfortable at all, was it?) and barely a moment after leaving Castiel's improvised accommodation (which was really more of a watchtower, being as he did not need rest or food or any of the comforts usually associated with home, merely a vantage point) they arrived in Temple Bar, no doubt making an odd couple – the tax-accountant in the trenchcoat and, well, Ruby.
