WHO: Marian, Robin and Much
WHAT: A conversation after Zach's fun and games
WHEN: Early Afternoon
WHERE: Both apartments
RATING: TBA

Marian stared at her netbook, taking a few deep breaths. They had woken up next to each other and then avoided each other since that moment. She couldn't stop the intense feeling of guilt that was running through her. She knew it wasn't her choice, whoever decided to play that joke on them had done this to her, but she still couldn't prevent herself from acting as if it was her own choice. She hated herself and she wanted Robin to hate her too because she deserved it.

Closing over the netbook, she placed it on her bedside table and pushed herself to stand off the bed. They had locked themselves in seperate bedrooms and now that Robin had said they had to talk she knew she had no choice. She wanted to talk from pretty early on but knew he needed time to come to terms with what had happened as well as deciding he was in the mood for a discussion. So now that he was, she knew she had to move out into the living area before he thought she didn't really want to talk this through. She just hoped it went okay, they were meant to be married in two weeks time. She didn't want anything to stop it, too much had already.

Opening her door, she wiped at her cheeks to make sure they weren't wet. She didn't want him to see how upset she was just in case the mood he was in made him think she was putting it on. Brushing down her jeans, she kept taking deep breaths as she walked into the living area, going straight to the window as she looked out at the people passing by. Just waiting.

The corner of his mouth tugged up against his will at Marian's words. "All right, perhaps not so accordingly." The brief humor passed, and he sighed. "But no matter whether or not we should be upset, we are. I guess all we can do is try to let it go." Easier said than done, but Much had been correct.

When she smiled at him, Robin could not help but smile back. He had been worried that they did not know this world enough to introduce a child to it; but they were fairly familiar with it now, and would continue to learn what they needed to. He had also been concerned about what would happen to a child if he and Marian disappeared; but they could just as easily be captured or killed back home-- in fact, they were both soon to be dead there,-- so they would make arrangements such as they would have done in Nottingham. The demons and other such creatures running amok here were his biggest concern; but, too, there was evil of a different breed in their own time, posing similar dangers, and he would do what he must to protect his family, same as he would have done there.

And, if he thought about it, this situation was rather better when it came to raising a family. For one thing, the fact that having children with Marian was even an option instantly was a vast improvement. But also, there was a roof over their heads, plenty of food, better education, vast advances in medicine... it was not ideal, but was there ever an ideal time or place?

"Of course, I want to," he replied. Wiping away the remainder of her tears, he admitted, "That's all I've ever really wanted. It took me too long to realize that-- until I thought it was too late." Leaning forward, he kissed her on the forehead, as she had done to him.

"We can try to let it go," she agreed with a nod.

She was glad to get a smile in response. Perhaps this was what they needed, something good and positive to come from this. And such a decision was definitely good. She knew it wouldn't happen straight away, it would take as long as it took. But knowing they were aiming for such an end result would make this whole disaster worth it.

She closed her eyes at the kiss to her forehead, smiling softly at how tender he was being. Looking back to him, she stroked his cheek another time as she watched him. She had wanted this for longer than she could admit to and she couldn't wait for it to happen.

"Then let's do it. Let's try."

Good God, she was beautiful. And brilliant, and compassionate... and far too wonderful for the likes of him. Robin had no idea how he had gotten so fortunate as to win her love, as well as being handed more chances with her than he deserved-- even to the point of their being brought nearly a millennium into the future,-- but he was not going to question that stroke of fate. And now, not only was she marrying him, but she also wanted to have his child. He was overwhelmed with emotion, and fell back on his mischievous side out of habit.

Quirking an eyebrow, he asked, "Now?" As soon as he did, he wished he had not; mere minutes ago, they had both been miserable. However, now that they had agreed to this huge, wonderful thing, his heart felt pounds lighter, and he hoped that hers did, too.

She laughed at the quirk of his eyebrow, knowing that something was going to be said that went along with that cheeky look. At his question, she rolled her eyes playfully, shaking her head in mock annoyance. If she was honest, she saw no problem with trying now. After all, there was no time like the present. But she liked to play along with this for a little while.

"Is that all you think about?" she chastised him teasingly before leaning in to kiss him softly. "What are you like."

Apparently, he was not the only one feeling better, and he smiled at her question. But, before he could reply, she was kissing him gently, the gesture striking him on a far more sensual level than he suspected she intended it. When she pulled back, he said, "It's not all I think about. I think about other things, too." Leaning forward, he kissed her with a bit more heat than she had, but still keeping it fairly light. "I just can't remember what they are right now."

He had no idea how he could be expected to think much at all with Marian looking at him that way. With one more kiss, he murmured, "You know exactly what I'm like." She was the unpredictable one of them both, but lately, that was a very good thing. And even when that had spelled trouble for him in the past, he still would not change it, since to do so would be to change her, and she was perfect the way she was.

Her eyes stayed closed after the kiss he gave her, not opening until he started to speak again. She didn't blame her for not remembering other things, after all she was hardly thinking of anything other than what she knew was going to happen. Then he was kissing her again and she tried to chase his lips, smirking a little when his words were fully heard by her.

"I do. What you're like and what you like," she said, her smirk staying on her lips as she leaned in to kiss him once more before she muttered against his lips, "Bed?"

Speaking of things he was not intending to question of the universe-- having such a short amount of time between fearing that he was losing her, to being invited to take her to bed, felt like it should not be quite right... but at the same time, there could be nothing more right. After all, he thought with a quick smile, their love was legendary, was it not? People were still telling stories of them eight hundred years later, of Robin Hood and his Marian. The thing was, those stories had it kind of backward; they should speak of them as Lady Marian and her Robin.

She thought she knew what he liked, but he had a secret: she was what he liked. And, she did not have to ask him that last question twice. Getting to his knee, he swept her up and stood. "A brilliant idea, milady," he grinned, and then leaned in to kiss her as he started walking toward the bedroom.
