Who: Kara Tanner & Spike
What: Short break from work!
When: Early afternoon
Where: The Gym
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

"See you tomorrow!" she called to Jess - an employee who always came in on her lunch. Kara worked with her just about every day, and she was possibly one of Kara's best clients here. As Jess headed to the showers, Kara finished putting away the weights - not even noting how many she was able to list at once, with no effort. When things were back where they belonged, Kara picked up her clip board and finished filling out part of Jess' charts as she walked back to the desk.

There was a desk in the middle of the gym where some of trainers or other staff just seemed to come to when they had some free time. Stepping into the hallow square and dropped into one of the chairs, kicking her legs up onto the desk.

One finger raised to coil around some of the curls that were escaping her ponytail, while she checked her schedule for the rest of the week. I didn't look to bad. Really, you would think there would be more staff in here. It wasn't like the gym was really that far away from where they worked. They didn't have much of an excuse.

She didn't have anything booked for another hour. Sighing in slight boredom - she wanted to be occupied, her eyes glanced to the door, half wondering if her fiance would just happen to show up and need to 'speak' with her about something. He was probably off at one of his meetings- he was always in meetings. Sucked being the guy in charged. Eventually she gave up on the day dream and turned to look back at her schedule.

Hey, where was Andrew to entertain her?

Fortunately for poor Kara, Spike was actually free of those pesky meetings that kept him distracted during all hours of the day. He had shaken off his last business encounter for a walk, which was quickly turning into an abrupt decision to go on and visit the woman he was due to marry down in the gym. The visit would turn into something far more adventurous if he had his way with her, but that all depended on how activity in the gym was. If she was busy - which he was praying on a big no for - then he'd have to return later. But, from what he could see as he stepped up to the glass doors in the hall, the gym looked a big quiet for the moment. Hopefully, that'd stick.

Adjusting the cuffs of his sleeves, Spike opened the door and moved inside. He was a well-dressed man; Spike was clothed in a dark suit, which happened to be terribly expensive. His hair was neatly combed back and there was that firm air of confidence about him that couldn't be shaken off no matter what. Why? Because Spike was damn good and he knew it. And there was nothing in the world that was gonna change that. He was on top. He was in charge. Life was perfect.

As was the woman he was striding toward. It was, after all, why he had chosen to marry her. Planting a smile on his lips, Spike placed both hands at the edge of her desk and leaned forward. Raising a brow, he surveyed their surroundings before looking back to Kara and simply saying, "Someone seems terribly busy today."

From where she was sitting, she couldn't actually see who came through the door when it was open. If they wanted to speak to her they'd come to the desk, if not, most people knew how things worked and they would go about their own routines in the gym. If they didn't need her, that just meant she could stay sitting. But the footsteps getting closer indicated that someone was coming to the desk. Thank god.

As much as she liked having a break, she would rather have herself occupied. It wasn't until she saw the face of her fiance that she realized that this was the perfect way to be occupied. She always looked forward to his visits. It helped that he was one of the men in charge, otherwise getting away with this wouldn't be easy. She heard tell of a few office romances, though it seemed very few were public, most of them she barley knew anything about. It sounded like a lot of drama- something she had no interest in.

"Downtime." she said with a shrug. "Eventually they have to go back to work." employees couldn't stay in here all day, unless they worked in here. Tossing the papers she was filling out lightly onto her desk, Kara dropped her legs off the desk and sat up straight in her chair, a smile on her face she turned to look directly at him. "And you should talk. No meetings?" she asked with a grin, not that she was going to complain. He had too many of those anyway.

It really did help that he was one of the men in charge. Sneaking around with women, especially his woman</i>, was a lot more easily executed than it would have been with others. After all, Spike was no fool. He was well aware of the fact that they weren't the only two people in the building who used their spare moments between work to sneak off and behave like high school teenagers. Unlike some of the other higher ups, however, Spike didn't really mind. What good was going to work if you couldn't have any fun every now and again? Besides, if need be, he could use the knowledge of the office romances he was strictly aware of to his advantage. Roberston on floor seven didn't want to close in on that deal they'd been egging at for months now? He'd dangle the security footage of him and Nancy Laury shagging each other in the janitor's closet on the first floor in front of him. Fish on a hook, easily. Spike was clever like that. It was part of why he was so tremendously successful - he knew how to play people. He knew how to get what he wanted. And right now? What he wanted was the incredibly attractive blonde seated at the desk in front of him.

"Not for another hour or so," Spike replied, tugging at the tie around his neck. He loosened it a bit and leaned forward, arms resting along the edge of the wooden cubicle that surrounded her desk. "Booked that deal I was working on. Loosened things up for the afternoon." Spike smirked. "It's likely going to piss off the lot of 'em upstairs - I know three others who wanted in with that one and now they're going to have to sit back and watch as I settle things in and rake in the money." He looked beyond pleased with himself. There was nothing more entertaining than watching people glare in envy. It was a beautiful thing, really. "Think you can stomach a break with your very handsome, very successful fiancé?"

An entire hour. If you had even an ounce of creativity you could dream up a thousand things to do if you had an hour, or just one thing, if she knew what Spike was thinking. And she did know, she probably knew exactly what was on his mind. She was willing to see where this was going. Kara glanced around the gym, you could half hear the crickets, the only noise was a few of the staff members talking somewhere else. "I think they'll manage without me." she replied, standing up from her seat and bringing herself close.

The successful part of him was very attractive, the money didn't hurt. But she liked his personality. He could be an ass to others, sure, but when you really got the chances to know him, he wasn't like that with some people. It sucked if you were a target, but if you weren't, it was perfect. "Hmmm, then I suppose a congratulations is in order, isn't it?" she asked as she leaned in close from over the desk. One land braced herself while she leaned over, the other moved to slip her fingers under his tie, and tug it slightly. She did love a man in a suite.

"And if anyone complains, I'll just tell them to take it with the boss." which would mean him, meaning she wasn't worried about anyone having issues with it. She'd probably get it from Andrew later, but that was expected and she didn't mind. He had his rights to comment all he wanted to her. "You know the boardroom down the hallway isn't booked for another three hours."

Not only was she sexy, but she also easily pulled off cute. He felt a twinge of smug pinch through him when she straightened his tie, knowing that it probably wouldn't be hanging around his neck for too much longer. She could straightened it out all she wanted. Wouldn't last. "The boss doesn't want to hear any complaints," Spike informed her, leaning in closer as she worked at his tie. "No one is allowed to complain about you." He reached up and brushed his fingers along the side of her face, tiling his head to the side to look her over as he did so. Gorgeous. She was bloody fucking gorgeous. "After all, you're perfect. And you know that's got to be true, seeing as I'm the pickiest bloke in this building."

He doubted that anyone would be bothered by them breaking for the hour. Kara was a good employee and he was one of the corporations top businessmen. It would have been a terrible shame to offend either of their hard-working employees. Especially when one of them was quite capable of making sure that those who complained lost their jobs in retaliation. Among other things. Spike smiled casually, leaning in even closer. Rather than doing what it looked as though he were aiming for - that being kissing her - Spike leaned to the side and stepped around the desk. Once there, he offered her his arm. "You say that as though I couldn't clear the area if I wanted to anyway."

The boardroom worked nicely. It was spacial, comfortable, and it had a particularly favorable lock on the door to keep them from being intruded upon. The only thing that Spike would have to take care of was that pesky security camera in the corner of the room. But that was something he could easily handle. Cameras, after all, were like eyes. And eyes could be temporarily blinded if need be.
