Who: Jessia Drew and Danny Ketch
What: Too much chaos and stress leads to one thing. Beer.
Where: Jessica's apartment.
When: Evening. November 1st.
Rating: TBD. But they're bound to end up doing something stupid.

If nothing else, Jessica had to admit that having her body switched with the body of that woman actually was a better option than most any other in Lawrence. She would still look the same to everyone else, but she would still know the difference. And she was hoping that it would end soon and she'd have her useless birthmark on her thigh back.

And even though hers was one of the most minor of body swaps, if you can call any body swap minor, she still felt like she needed a drink, but not in the way that she felt she needed to get drunk. So on her way back to her apartment from the complex that the other out of towners had set up, she stopped at a gas station and picked up a twelve-pack of beer, plus a bottle of liquor just in case she ever did feel the need for something stronger. That was more than enough for her, really, and any leftovers could hang out in her fridge until she was in the mood for more. Plus, Danny was going to be stopping by and she wouldn't be bothered by letting him have a couple. After all, he seemed quite responsible enough to have some beer without doing something idiotic that would get him in trouble.

Checking the clock once she stepped into the apartment, Jessica had noticed that she was right. It had only taken her a few minutes to get from the complex to her own building. First thing she did was put the beer in the fridge, then headed back to change into some of her own clothes. She'd return the others to Morgan Le Fay's doorstep at some other point.

Truthfully, Danny had found the whole body swap thing relatively entertaining. He'd laughed long and hard when he saw who Buffy ended up wearing. The others were kind of amusing too, although not quite to the same hilarious level. The Andrea one got a chuckle out of him, if only because he knew both of the people involved in that particular swap.

It was also a little funny that Jessica looked pretty much like normal, but of course, there were more complex issues there that took some of the fun out of it. That was part of why he was going, truthfully. Jessica was pretty cool, and if she needed some company he was more than happy to be there. Plus? He could use a night off after the whole nonstop Ghost Rider thing of the past couple days.

It didn't take him long to get to Jessica's apartment. The image of Jessica decked out in...whatever somebody from Arthurian legend would wear was amusing, but he had no doubt she'd already changed into something else. With a little chuckle, he knocked at the door, and called in an amused voice, "Open up, She-Ra. I know you're protecting He-Man in there."

He-Man jokes. He really needed better material.

Jessica had just finished changing when she heard the knock on the door. Now in a much more comfortable outfit consisting of a pair of jeans and a comfortable tee-shirt, walked back through the living room and to the door. Chuckling just a bit, she pulled the door open. "How did you know I keep him stashed under my bed?" she asked, then winced slightly at the Irish tilt to her accent. Yeah, that was going to take some getting used to alright.

Leaving the door open for him to enter, she turned and headed back towards the small kitchen area of her apartment, pulling her hair up quickly as she did so. She didn't really care how cold the beers were just then, (though they shouldn't be too bad having come right out of a cooler when she purchased them), she just wanted one. "Help yourself. I got plenty."

Danny had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from smirking at the accent. This was going to be interesting. After a second, he did let himself smirk at the reply to his joke. "Well, you know, where else would you keep him? Guy makes a mess of everything. He really needs to house train that cat of his."

He followed her into the apartment, glancing around. "Nice place." It was your standard compliment upon first seeing someone's place. He nodded at her, muttering a thanks, and then he retrieved a beer for himself. He popped the cap, making sure to discard the cap appropriately, and then lifted his bottle in a little salute, waiting for the traditional clinking of bottles before taking his first sip. "So," he said, smirking. "Who gets to tell Cap and Thor that they're both He-Man?"

"Oh, I don't know," Jessica chuckled again, ignoring her voice as best she could as she spoke, and clicked her bottle against Danny's. "He did seem rather upset when I wouldn't let him spend all his time in the closet." And yes. She was fully aware of what she just said. That was exactly why she said it.

Grinning, Jessica then made her way over to set herself down on the couch. "I think you should do it," she started with a bit of a nod. "After all, they both hate me thanks to my face, so you would probably run the least risk of getting punched right in the nose if you said it." Really, it was likely that the both of them ran the risk of getting hurt by saying something like that, but that was neither here nor there. "At least you lucked out and got to continue to look like yourself though."

Danny snorted at her comment about He-Man being in the closet. "You know every one of those sidekicks he ran with knew what was going on. Nobody wanted to say anything, but there was always a reason Orko never wanted to sit down." Yeah, he went there.

He joined her on the couch, laughing a little. "What are you, kidding me? Thor would smack me into next week." He thought about some of the zany shit he'd read about those comics. "Possibly literally." Yeah, there was a disturbing thought. "And Cap would pull some super-special plan out of his ass that somehow manages to work despite all odds. Or just drop a tank on me." Even Ghost Rider would be hurt by a tank getting dropped on him. "Either that or he'd lecture me, and that would be worse." He took another sip of the beer, this one a little longer. It was pretty good beer. After a second's thought, he said, "So the solution is to trick Hulk into doing it." He smirked. "And then run really fast."

Jessica took a long drink from her beer before smirking a bit. "You know," she started simply. "We could probably talk Deadpool into telling him. If either of us could stomach approaching him to ask him to do something like that, that is. He's definitely insane enough to do something like that." After all, the mercenary prattled on about everything else. Why wouldn't he be willing to tell Thor and Captain America something like that.

Rather pleased with that idea of hers, she took another drink leaned back, relaxing in the comfort of her couch. It wasn't the best thing in the world, in all honesty it was pretty ugly, but it was comfortable and when you didn't have that much money that was all that mattered.

Plus, she wasn't used to having the finer things in life anyway. Not all the time, at least.

Danny blinked and looked over at Jessica. "And Deadpool is...who?" He'd never heard the name before. Judging from Jessica's description, he wasn't necessarily the kind of guy Danny would regularly hang around with. Then again, he hung around with rebellious angels in the future. Who knew who he'd hang out with after that? Besides, push came to shove, better this guy take Mjolnir to the face than Danny.

He definitely agreed with Jessica's philosophy when it came to furniture. No reason to have the super fancy, plush, leather couch when something a hundred times cheaper was just as comfortable. Hell, sometimes the simpler stuff could be more comfortable. In Danny's experience, fancy furniture was often designed to show off status first, with comfort sometimes a distant second. He really preferred his furniture to be designed first and foremost for comfort. "Eh, well, actualy, doesn't matter. In the end, whoever he is, better him than us, right?" He punctuated his question with another drink from his bottle and a content little sigh as he finished.

Oh, that was right. Danny was from too long ago to know Deadpool. Lucky guy. "Deadpool. That's someone that you should definitely look up," Jessica said with a firm nod. Even if she wasn't the biggest fan of being around him, people should at least know who he was. If nothing else, Danny would just know who to avoid when he did show up on the scene.

"Now, see, the good thing about him is that he would flat out enjoy telling them, no matter what they do to him. Like I said, he's insane." And when it came to Deadpool, that was putting it mildly.

Danny already had a pretty good idea about avoiding him just from Jessica's description. Still, a little harmless internet searching couldn't hurt, especially when it was about someone else. After those comics and that movie, he was damn sure never searching for himself again. Yeah, Felicia had been right about the song, but other than that Danny had pretty much hated everything else about himself he'd seen. Searching this Deadpool guy would at least be a way to kill the boredom sometimes, between beating up street thugs and tearing across town looking for a Hellgod that he couldn't even fight.

"Insane, huh?" He chuckled. "Well, if we're throwing insane people at them, might as well get Castle to do it." Danny smirked. "Maybe I'm biased because of the whole 'shot me in the chest' thing, but I think we could all do with a little less of that guy for awhile." He grinned and took another pull from his beer.

"Very," Jessica laughed a bit. "Lets put it this way. He's so unpopular due to his crazy that I'm on the party invite list long before anyone would even consider him." There was never any telling what that guy would do. Jessica thought she'd even heard that he was carrying around his own zombified head from another dimension wherever he went lately. But, then again, she could have just read that on the internet or something, even though she tended to try and avoid anything that was related to the so-called Marvel Universe.

God, she hated the idea of a Marvel Universe, or any sort of universe that was fictional in this world. She hated that people here could simply type her name into Google and find out anything about her that they could possibly want to know, not to mention things that they probably didn't want to know. "And now I drink to being fictional. Or, well, really to being against being fictional," she added with a nod before taking another couple sips of her beer. It really was a good thing that she hadn't gone straight for the liquor.

Danny snorted at her description of Deadpool. "Yeah, that guy sounds like truckloads of fun." He chuckled a little. "Although I'd probably invite you to a party before half the lecture-happy thrill-jockies that run around our universe." Plus, Thor was a viking god. There wasn't enough beer in the world to supply that party. At least not outside of Tony Stark's personal supply chain.

Either he didn't realize the comment could come out flirty, or he didn't care.

At her impromptu toast, Danny winced, grunted in agreement, pulled the beer to his lips, and just tilted his head back. Three long, deep gulps later and the beer went from maybe a little over half full to mostly gone. Danny felt pretty strongly about this one, too. He finally let his head fall forward, deftly moving the beer to keep from spilling a drop, not that it was full enough for that to really be a possibility. "Hi there, I hear you're looking for a choir," he quipped, just a hint of bitterness to it. For a second, he just sat forward, arms on his knees and the beer dangling from one hand, his eyes focused on the bottle. After a moment, he added, "Tell you the truth?" He shrugged one shoulder slightly and glanced at her. "I'd half consider going dark if it meant I could wipe all those comics out of existence."

Okay, not really, but the sentiment was there. All that information, things he could have lived his entire life never knowing, and now he knew them. Danny could safely say he understood why prophets and others who saw the future almost inevitably went crazy. He really had no idea how he was still sane. Then again, the fact that he wasn't running screaming away from all this destiny, family curse, flaming skull crap probably didn't leave much chance of sanity.

Jessica couldn't help chuckling at his comment. "Well, that's because you don't see a genocidal maniac when you look at me," she said simply, shrugging. Obviously she didn't actually take it as flirting, but she still smiled none the less. The truth was, Jessica just didn't really think about dating all that much, which was a bit odd for someone with the mental (and physical) age of a woman in their early-to-mid twenties. Plus, she just flat out didn't expect people to flirt with her in the first place. She was much too used to people looking at her with what pretty much amounted to disgust.

But at the second bit, she was a bit less jovial. Not that she was jovial in the first place, but she had been just about as close as she ever manages to get. "I might consider it, too," she started before shaking her head. "If I hadn't already jumped back and forth over that line several times before. I've got a feeling that if I jump the line again I'll officially be listed as one of the bad guys for all time. Working with HYDRA sometimes gives you that stigma, after all." And that was enough to get Jessica to finish off that first beer of hers.
