Who: Robin, Allan, Much, Marian, and OPEN if anyone wants to be around
What: with Marian after her attack
When: night of the 21st
Where: the hospital
Warnings: angst, angst, and then some more angst

Had he been less focused, Robin would have been far more interested in the teleportation; to be in one place one moment, and miles away the next, was astounding. As it was, he was glad he remembered to thank Paige; and, as soon as he had learned where Marian was, he took off for the hospital.

Along the way, he berated himself in a thousand different ways. He should have requested that they go to the training together. He should have known that she would go out on her own, despite her agreements. He had failed her again.

Three times, now. She could not possibly have any chances left; God knew, he probably did not, either. He had promised her father he would keep her safe.

She had promised to take Allan and Much when she went to the church.

So much for promises.

A nurse directed him to her Marian's room, and he had to stop himself from running there. At the same time, he had to force his feet to move along the hallway. Allan had said she was "pretty badly hurt," and as he walked into the room, he tried to keep the "alive" part of his friend's message in mind, instead.

There were wires all around her, machines beeping beside the bed. Her arm was wrapped up in something. Her face carried some scratches, and there were areas that looked as though they were likely to bruise within the next day. And she was so very still.

He was frozen a few steps away from her. Alive. She's alive. That was the important thing.

Much stayed where he was when Robin left the room, though the temptation to follow him was strong. There was really no point, and Robin would tell him that if he did. But he did not know what he should say to Marian. He glanced at her, then over at Allan, then to the door and back to her again. Robin had shushed him, but she was more awake now. Did that mean he could speak to her?

"Does that help at all Marian? I am sure it does. I bet it is just like something Djaq would have used." There. He had said the words nice and quietly. No one could argue with that. Maybe he should get her something to cheer her up. On the way to her room he had seen a lady behind a counter who seemed to be selling flowers. But he might have to pay for them and he did not have any money. Would it be wrong to take them when they were to help someone feel better? That was a tricky one.

It was with relief that he saw Robin enter the room again from the corner of his eye. Though he had not liked the look on his face when Marian had said she was in pain. That look in Robin's eye usually preceded trouble.
