2029. Kingsley Shacklebolt is retiring at the end of the term and the Wizarding community cannot seem to care less. With no dark wizards running amok, why worry? To bolster public participation in government, the Wizarding Broadcasting Corporation and the Ministry of Magic have formulated a solution: the DEPARTMENT.

Of course, the best laid plans often go astray.

The DEPARTMENT is a Harry Potter next-generation game in the style of Parks and Recreation and the Office, charting the comedic and dramatic turns of the Ministry of Magic employees.

When the Second Wizarding War ended it seemed that even though the danger had passed, it seemed as if more questions than answers were left behind across the board. Needless to say there weren't any easy answers. But together they worked to rebuild their community, their world, have children, teach them the lessons that they had learned through this whole ordeal.

Or so people thought. Things remained quiet until early 2021, when people started to go missing, various break in attempts at the most secure parts of the Ministry, public attacks and a New Mark rose in the sky. Over the next five years, while the events seemed sporadic, each one is worse than the last.

The Department of Magical Law Enforcement is now starting to string together both the events together. But a new set of questions is being left...who are The Veriti? What do they want? Are they the Death Eaters reborn? Or are they something worse? And will we be able to stop things before they escalate?

Madison Valley is a small Midwestern town, snuggled in the hills of the Ohio River Valley. Peaceful and calm, it is the kind of place people move to raise their children, or where people retire to find peace away from the big city. It is a place devoid of crime, where doors are left unlocked and everyone knows everyone else. 

Only lately, something strange has happened to Madison Valley. The
natives have found themselves unable to leave the town, and strange
people have been arriving - people formerly thought to
be fictional. 

The only possibly explanation put forth by the townspeople is that the
possible testing of strange and experimental weapons at the Army
Proving Ground to the north of town has somehow put the town at the
middle of a dimensional nexus from which people from all different
times and all different universes are drawn.

The citizens of Madison Valley welcome you! May you enjoy your sojourn
in a sleepy river town - that is far stranger than it
seems!

There exists in a place outside of space and time, a land of pure magic. The magic of this world can be utilized and bent but it's will not broken by those who chose to occupy it. The magic has a will of it's own and while it can be harnessed can never truly be controlled.

Failed Attempts is a multi-gen displacement HP game. The game is set in a magical village, which exists outside of the world as the characters know it, yet has some eerily similar sights. The residents there must learn to tolerate one another and work together to make life work in this strange and unpredictable world.

If you're looking for a friendly community full of enthusiastic players and characters, then this is the game for you. Our emphasis is on character development and building a sense of community for our player base.
