"Entre chien et loup"-- between the dog and the wolf-- or to French speakers, the twilight hours.... in New Orleans, the residents live tenuously between them whether they know it or not.
The universe of XeroHour could be considered our own under a shadow; the human world at large suspects the presence of the supernatural around them, but it is not known concretely. Like most things religious and political, there are sides that believe so ultimately and others that consider them ignorant or superstitious fools.
Likewise, some individuals in the variety of supernatural communities and sects feel that working towards exposure is advantageous; motives range through the spectrum of humanitarian, self-interested, and predatory takeover. Others, many of the larger older entities, tout not fixing what isn't yet broken. Around that, many older species feuds continue-- vampires and werewolves being the largest, born of an insult so old it's been lost to time and carried on from natural revulsion.
But humanity isn't resigned to only prey. Certain individuals born with magical aptitudes, though the cultural disciplines that teach them how to manage and feed that flame vary; alchemy, Wicca, the variations of voodoo, countless others.
And there are few cultural stews bigger than New Orleans.
Wander the hedonism of the French Quarter with vampires who've crawled the Catacombs of Paris, penetrate the storefronts of the voodoo shops of Jackson Square, race through Audubon Park and beyond into the bayou with werewolves, or perhaps something a little more wild and uncommon... we're always open to suggestion...
