The scent of popcorn and animal shit and sawdust permeate the evening air and the shouts of comraderie could turn to screams of terror at the drop of a ringmaster's hat. A few days ago this was an empty field on the edge of town, choked with weeds, littered with the trash of years' worth of careless vagrants. When the trucks rolled in, breathing exhaust and making the air shiver with heat, curious hands gripped the tilting chainlink fence around the lot to peer as workers hopped out to unload endless pieces of shapeless metal, wheels, hoses. Now, however... now it's as if everything's been there for years. The Carnivale Virelay is in town; there was no advertising beforehand, no flyers or showbills passed out around town, no advertisement in the local paper.

There's something here for audiences of all ages. Like thrills and adrenaline? Check out the death-defying feats of the acrobats, trapeze artists and lion tamers in the Grand Tent's Big Show! Cower in fear as the fire-breathers and sword-swallowers show off their talents--- it doesn't seem possible! Or if the Big Show isn't to your liking, sit for a spell while a real Romanian gypsy tells what the future holds in the cards for you... her tarot deck is over a century old and it's rarely wrong. There's a Ten-in-One tent where oddities both human and non wait for your perusal, and a Hoochie-Coo show where beautiful girls perform burlesque numbers for the more mature audiences. There are rides to entertain and midway games to best, and adventure around every corner and behind each tent flap you pass.

Virelay is more than a mere traveling carnival.

But don't take our word for it, buy a ticket and come on in.

In the lush surrounds of Ridgeway valley we make your dreams come true! Come down to Ridgeway Resort, where you can see all your favorite characters in person! And go home feeling all warm and fuzzy inside with memories that will last a life time.

Ridgeway Resort is a multi-fandom RPG, or panfandom if you will, that brings original characters together with canon characters. If you wish to have an OC it may be a guest or an employee, though if they are an employee they must have a fandom from which they originated. OC guests can only stay a few months before they must depart back to their home. Ridgeway is a pricey joint, having all these fictional characters on the payroll is expensive, and would cause even Scrooge McDuck to go bankrupt if he were to stay for too long! The only restrictions we have on the OCs are the play-bys for the guests. If there is someone playing a character(s) that is using a specific PB you may not choose that one. We can't have the original character guests looking like the canon characters, when it's the point of the resort for the guests to travel to the resort to see their favorite fictional characters. That would be a little too odd. Not that we don't welcome weird moments, we love those! But that would be just a little to much on some fragile psyches. If you enjoy the experience and want to become a permanent part of our happy little resort, you're welcome to apply for one of the cannon characters that are not taken, or take a swing at making an original character from a fandom. Any fandoms are welcome, we simply ask for a fleshy play-by rather than a cartoon or 3D one-to keep the players around you comfortable. Under New Management!

It all started out as a simple argument between Captain Roger Davies of the Pride of Portree and Captain Gwenog Jones of the Holyhead Harpies one night in a pub. But then came an unwise comment from Davies about how the men could earn more fund-raising with less effort, and still beat the all women team to escalate the Welsh’s woman’s temper. And a challenge was made. On behalf of all the men in the league, Roger Davies made a bet that in one Quidditch season, the men would earn more money fund-raising than the women, and would still beat the Holyhead Harpies for the Quidditch League Cup. If Davies's bet fails, the Holyhead Harpies get to handpick seven of the male Quidditch players in the league to play against and beat. And the men would have to be naked. But if the men won, they get to play the Harpies and the ladies will be the ones taking it off. So what have the men decided on their fund-raising? Naked Quidditch. Inspired by the consequences of the bet, it was decided that the best men in the league would be judged picked to design a calendar. Witch Weekly Magazine jumped at the chance to sponsor the fundraiser, providing the judges, locations, equipment and photographers free of charge. Just as long as they got full access to all the fresh scoops and gossip. 2006 is a big year for Quidditch. It is the second World Cup to be held since the Great War against the Dark Lord. This time the host country is France, and it will be held in Paris. The new stadium is being built, and players from all over the world are coming to train and practice. The Country’s teams are being formed: the best of the best to represent their countries and take home Quidditch Glory on the World Stage. But there is something threatening the peace of the Wizarding World. Lately the Ministry have been receiving complaints from store merchants in Knockturn Alley of break ins and graffiti defacing their places of business and how the Aurors have not done much to stop it. The one connection between all these incidents are that the victims are former Slytherins who may or may not have had affiliations to Death Eaters in the past. The incidents have not been widely published to diminish any panic. But the vandalism have been increasing, and the graffiti growing severe. The most recent scrawl saying, Snakes must die.

The tables have been turned in Britain. The Ministry of Magic, the Daily Prophet, and Hogwarts School are all infiltrated by Death Eaters. Someone has to take a stand for what's right in the name of wizardingkind, someone has to be caught between the extremes, and someone has to do right for themselves in the face of chaos. Who will pick up their wand to take on a fight, to save others without a wand, to defend themselves when pressed? When jinx comes to hex, who will take a stand?

Voldemort was dead and life went on. Students who had spent the last year fighting for their lives suddenly found themselves in a world with limitless possibility, capable of finding new direction and new purpose. There were job interviews to go on and bills to pay. Funerals and first dates. Second dates. Weddings. Children. The Mansion. Windows have been blown out, rooms are destroyed, the front yard is full of bullet holes, the left wing on the first floor has been marked by fire, and on the roof remains pieces of...well, we're not sure, but it used to be alive.

The Attack. It happened in the middle of the night. No one knew it was coming, and no one was prepared for what they would face. Humans and mutants full of self-hate on a suicide mission. After a night like this, something tells me there won't be school for awhile.

The Fallout. Dead bodies are everywhere and their beloved safe haven has been destroyed. It's time to decide who you can trust, and who to ally yourself with. Not everyone is as evil as they seem, and not every smile has good intentions behind it.

The Reason. It's been seven years since "The Cure" was invented and now, it's starting to wear off. Former mutants who thought they could have a normal life are experiencing a massive influx of power, sometimes rendering them uncontrollable. Some of these mutants hate themselves so much that they think the world would be better off without them. All of them.

The Future. With Magneto building up his Brotherhood once more, the mansion destroyed, and Ororo at the helm of Xavier's, everyone is on the brink of something. Is it war? Is it a change so grand no one can yet imagine it? Looks like we'll find out soon enough.

faq rules departments cast appy	Tensions are rising within Wizarding Great Britain; with the upcoming Minister for Magic election, hardly a witch or wizard can go outside their own home without being pelted with flyers for this candidate or slogans for that one. It hardly helps that it seems anyone with more galleons than sense seems to feel their fit for the job. And amongst all this political strife is rising anti-muggle sentiment, and has quickly become a hot-button topic for anyone looking to become the next Minister. And just to top it off, Edwidge Finley, the current Minister for Magic, has the entire Ministry ruffled as he lays down new laws left and right, knowing full well that it's unlikely he'll be voted in for another year. Esteemed Panel is a Harry Potter roleplaying community, set in the year 1979, a year after the Marauders' graduation from Hogwarts. Other than the typical family-ties and friendships, EP is based primarily on the interactions between coworkers, as all characters are employed by the Ministry of Magic in some capacity.

The world could not account for the spike in unexplained phenomenon in 2009. Whole towns turned against one another, hail the size of tennis balls mingled with lightning-storms-turned-infernos, hurricanes in places there'd never been hurricanes, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, and the list went on in such a short time. The religious grew louder, believing it to be a sign of the apocalypse, but they never really knew just how right they were.

May 2010, Detroit. Sam Winchester, separated from his brother Dean since September of the previous year, finally tired of his burden and invited the Devil in to stay, and that's when things really got weird. Within hours, Detroit was decimated, and the government could only point to such a wide-scale terrorist attack that martial law was eventually declared.

The virus, later revealed by its victims, is called Croatoan and all of those tainted run rabid, murdering and infecting anyone they come across who has not been infected. As the spread of the disease gets worse, the president does the unthinkable, bombing whole cities and plugging up routes to stop the spread of the disease and dooming those few survivors. Hope seems to have abandoned Earth.

News of Camp Chitaqua in South Dakota filtered through the survivors' grapevine and people began to flock to it like mecca. Craving safety, they even manage to put up with its gruff, unapologetic leader, Dean Winchester. No one is sure where the Rifters came from - or how - but they started turning up in 2011 near the perimeter of the camp. Most aren't here for long - they vanish without a trace one day - and those left behind have to weather illness, injury, Croats, and the impending sense of dread that inevitably comes when they realize they've missed the Rapture. Life is hard, and everyone has a job to do, but it beats the alternative and maybe you'll get lucky enough to be reunited with long-lost loved ones.

Hotzone is a post-apocalyptic multifandom game set in the Supernatural 'verse. Most fandoms welcome!
