When Doctor Nathaniel Essex discovered humanity’s undergoing mutation in 1859, he foresaw the coming of Homo superior—a new breed of man gifted with strange and fantastic abilities simply by virtue of their cellular makeup. His obsession with the human genome he called the "Essex Factors" led to the dissecting, alteration and unorthodox means of experimentations on mutants and humans alike in his laboratory hidden beneath the boarding school he founded; The Essex Academy for the Gifted. Following a mysterious fire in 1930, the school closed its doors permanently. Present Day: 2010 The newly reopened Essex Academy in upstate New York is emerging as one of the most prestigious and expensive private high schools in the country; the academy attracts those with great minds and great bank accounts alike. The school’s headmaster has also handpicked several superhumans to reside at the school as both students and faculty. A fact so secret, that even these individuals are completely unaware that others like themselves are roaming the same halls. Why the school's headmaster is so interested in this phenomenon, and his motive for training them has yet to be determined. ------------------------ Essex Academy is a Marvel/DC crossover rpg where superhuman beings are just beginning to emerge. There are no super teams, and both superheroes and villains exist as little more than urban legends. This isn’t a game of horny teenagers with hot pbs left to run wild all over campus. The moderators have created several plots involving the government and public reactions to superhumans, as well as exploring the deeper mysteries of the academy itself. This role play is located on Inksome.com; a code will be provided upon acceptance. Games started on August 23rd. | website community ooc rules application taken | |||||||||
Universes, all of time and space ebb and flow like tides, sliding against each other seamlessly for the most part. There are convergance points, however, fixed points. And sometimes, if people are smart enough a station like Aria Station is constructed in that fixed point, drawing in those from the realities it borders, but never being a part of any of them. And, well, if you're following so far, it shouldn't be too far of a stretch to believe everyone is brought here by one being, the one living in the nebula you'll see every day out the viewports of Aria Station. It can be said it likes to make waves. Aria Station is a fixed point space station with the capacities to function as an independantly large city. It's not impossible to leave, but you have to work for it, which is why so many people are comfortable staying here for as long as they do. This is a science fiction canon based role-playing game, though non-sci-fi canons can be worked in. Alternate Universe characters are welcome, multiples allowed! Is there anyone out there who has a lot of time on their hands and would be interested in building our own little BTVS/Angel/Supernatural AU universe?
I’m going to be stuck indoors sick for the foreseeable future and would love someone who enjoys the things I do to help me pass the time. I love brainstorming and have always wanted to build a universe featuring these three shows. Anyone who writes a het Dean Winchester especially welcome.
I’m up for most sorts of storylines with little bits of everything thrown in. The only thing I won’t write is Slash. I must be one of the few who just doesn’t enjoy it. If you’re looking for a partner who only posts once or twice a week, then I’m definitely not the one for you. I’m looking for someone who’ll happily escape into the little world we create for long periods of time. Maybe someone in the same position as me who can’t get out too much at the moment…
I’d love to meet someone who’d like to go back to the start and basically rewrite the boys’ story with added elements and characters from BTVS and Angel thrown in.
I’ve not put pages of details in this ad because I’d like anything to be a joint venture between us. It’s got to be fun for both writers and pages of ‘I want’’ and ‘I must have’ can be a little bit of a put off.
Please drop me a line if you’re interested.
(Cross posted everywhere because I’m really desperate to find a partner. Apologies for this.)
CHARACTER LIST • PB LIST • APPLICATION • RULES • WANTED CHARACTERS Liberalis A Post-Warts, Non Deathly Hallows Compliant Game By the spring of 1999 the Trio had collected and destroyed all six of the Horcruxes and they set out to find the Dark Lord hoping to end it once and for all. At the climax of the duel, Harry gained the upper hand and Voldemort, knowing he had seconds left, used his last lifeline: a time turner. With the fall of their Lord, the Death Eaters abandoned the battle and it appeared to the wizarding world that their greatest enemy had been defeated. Unknown to them, the time turner had brought Voldemort into 2002 where he was already gathering his followers and one more Horcrux still remained. Voldemort had unknowingly created another when he had killed Harry's parents and attempted to kill Harry. The newly shattered part of his soul was transferred into the infant when the Dark Lord cast the killing curse. The New Year of 2003 would be marked with tragedy. The Dark Lord would announce his return at the Ministry’s Annual New Year’s Ball where innocents were attacked and dozens were slaughtered. In the aftermath of the battle, accusatory eyes turned to the once celebrated hero; Harry Potter. Overnight the news spread and people began to feel again the terror that had yet to fade completely. Over the next few months the Ministry worked around the clock to assure the people that this time wouldn’t be like the last; this time they should place their trust with the government and not in the hands of an adolescent hero. The Ministry’s demeanor became one of confidence. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named had struck out twice already and this time the situation would be handled properly. Voldemort had other plans. On June 23rd the Ministry of Magic fell. Trust and security was shattered when Voldemort and his army entered the Ministry building, having been given access from within. Death Eaters and dark creatures alike swarmed through the structure, destroying everything in their path; among the dead was found every member of the Wizengamot including the Minister of Magic himself. Once and for all the Dark Lord proved what he was capable of. With their Headquarters in ruins, the Ministry has been forced to relocate and is scrambling to come to terms with their losses and what it meant for the future. Wizarding Britain looks to the future with little hope while the Trio desperately search for the missing piece, knowing that if the Dark Lord had returned that their mission had not yet been completed. Another Horcrux must still be in existence and destroying it is the only way to ensure their liberation. Game Opened Friday, July 23rd |
