Asheville has been proclaimed to be a "New Age Mecca" as well as "the new freak capital of the US". Most people overlook these statements made by the media, because most of Asheville's residents live there because it was named one of the top seven places to live in the US, it's location in the mountains and surrounding areas is ideal, and life moves at a slower pace in the South. Little do people know that the first two statements are true, and Asheville has been rumored to sport some serious supernatural activity. For many years supernatural creatures of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds have been migrating to this city in the Blue Ridge Mountains. None of them can quite put their finger on why they are drawn there, but there is a pull that they just can't ignore. Perhaps it has something to do with the convergence of all these different supernaturals, or maybe something darker is brewing underneath the city of Asheville. |

| On October 31st, 1999, a group of eco-terrorists released a biological weapon at every major airport in the world. The infected became sick, then violent and murderous. 50 hours after the contagion was released, governments across the globe initiated states of emergency. Sites were designated as shelters with troops and Aurors sent to protect those sites at all costs. Those lucky enough to find shelter had to wait it out – the 28 long days for the infected to starve to death or kill each other in their madness. | The world as you knew it is gone. Some remote areas are desolate nuclear wastelands. Cities are virtually devoid of life. Less than one percent of the total world population remains. Governments – both Magical and Muggle – struggle to maintain order and plan for the future of the human race. Rumors of a consolidated world government and now the Ministry has passed a Marriage Decree for the survivors. (We are Canon compliant up to day after Battle at Hogwarts. This is an adult game and smut is a part of it though not the focus of the game-wide plots.). Your destiny awaits you. |

Poseidon Academy, an educational institution by the shores of the ocean, is home to people of all different ages, from all different places. They are teachers, faculty, students and townspeople, each serving an important purpose, playing a crucial role in the Academy's greater community. Reachable through a nexus -- a strange and inexplicable phenomenon that allows passage between worlds and times -- the Academy exists largely in a world of its own. All races, all ages, all sentient forms of life are welcomed with open arms to the Academy. Cure-all: (noun) Something believed to cure all human disorders.
It started with The Cure: a drug designed to inhibit and reverse the effects of an active x-gene. While some saw it as an option for those less fortunate mutants who’s x-gene simply left them physically disfigured, or those with powers that made every day life difficult, others saw it as a weapon. Eventually, The Cure failed. But not before those who’d been offended by it’s very existence were ready to strike back.
Four years later, The Cure-All was a sort of response to The Cure. It was made for all humans who no longer wanted to be weak, those who wanted to be part of the next evolutionary step of humanity. Like The Cure, at first, it worked perfectly. But only at first.
Three months after the first human had undergone the change to homo-superior, the powers and mutations seemed to fade. What was left in place of the homo-superior, however, wasn’t quite human. Still alive, they were reduced to one basic instinct: the need to feed. Their choice of meal? Human and homo-superior flesh.
Those who survived learned that staying on the move meant staying alive. If they stopped anywhere too long, the infected would come. Only a few at first, but then more and more until their numbers were impossible to fight off. In the end it became a matter of fight together or die alone, and surviving was all anyone could hope for.

As the Second Sorceress War slipped from all-consuming present into the recent past, the world is primarily in a state of balance and peace. However, the upheaval that the war caused is not gone from the minds of those that lived through it, and for most, 'normalcy' is about the most abnormal thing that they can fathom, causing each day to seem somewhat surreal. The governments of Galbadia and Esthar are in the process of beginning to try war criminals, some with names as infamous as Edea Kramer and Seifer Almasy, and Balamb is flourishing under its new Commander, war hero, Squall Leonhart.
Though things are indeed calm in comparison to the War, things are perhaps not as at ease as they seem on the surface. In Galbadia, rebels and protesters, dissatisfied with the ways of the government and with the policies enforced post-war, are rising up in acts of isolated terrorism. There is an air of civil unrest amongst the citizens in many of the bigger cities, and small crime and vandalism are on the rise. Esthar, having finally done away with its seclusion, has opened itself not only to the world, but to the worry that it will not be able to defend itself from outside forces, should trouble once again arise. In an effort to remedy this fear, The Estharian Government, lead primarily by President Laguna Loire, is entering negotiations with Balamb Garden to build, train, and equip a Garden of their own.
Fatalis Venatus is a role-play set in the post-game world of Final Fantasy VIII that focuses on the world and the characters as they recover and rebuild their lives in the wake of chaos. How easy is it to be complacent once your world has been turned upside down and righted again?
