The hero looked desperately around for anyone who might be of help. He was alone. The pirate grinned, and pulled out a dagger. The hero looked around for cover. There is none, so he backed up against the wall, praying that the pirate didn't have the key. The pirate didn't, but unfortunately he also had an excellent arm. Excruciating pain overwhelmed all of the hero's senses, as he sunk to the ground, the dagger embedded in his chest. Next time, he'd have to remember not to insult the man's mom. It was obviously a terrible tactical strategy. His last thought was about how very much he wished the internet had been invented here so that he could look up things like “diplomacy” or “gypsy curses.” He was desperately trying to recall something from his psychology class when his heart finally stopped, and everything went black. Sunlight streamed through the stable window, and the hero blinked a bit before sitting up to find a man with a pitchfork staring at him. “Did the wizard send ya?” the man asks accusingly. Once, Compound One - comprised primarily of the Salisbury Hotel - the safest place to live in New York - possibly in the Infected wasteland of the United States. It is steadily becoming a prison to its inhabitants, a nation-state under the martial law of one zealous man. Those who remain try to stay alive amid the tyranny and injustice of the man who only seeks to "keep them safe" in Compound One. Residents disappear if they subvert - but to where? Are they cast out to battle with the cannibalistic horde? Or are the rumors of the Underground Railroad true? What of whispers of a cure for the Infection? Some survivors are too grateful for the relative safety to question - relieved, at last, to not have to fight for food, water, and shelter. Others remember a better time, when the safe zone was protected by a man with principle... The refugees, lead by Rory Teague, have found permanent solace on a fleet of sailboats. They are afforded mobility and relative freedom, after nearly a year on the run from the Dictator of the Salisbury. Teague, former leader of Compound One, still gathers survivors out of the city into this new water-borne life. But the refugees are never idle - their friends and loved ones remained trapped inside the walls of Compound One. With the knowledge that his people are safe for now, if trapped, Teague works to lay plans for his expanding armada. But the conflict with the Salisbury is never at rest for long - a war brews across the city. And help may come from the most unexpected of places... Nestled quietly in the borders of an Infected-free area of the city, a small band of holdouts hide in the Urbana Luxury Apartments and debate whether to join the Compound. But they live under perpetual threat and harassment of having their freedom of choice revoked, simply because they wish to peacefully coexist. They are a faction divided: some wish to experience the comforts of the Salisbury. Others urge them to wait, to see, not to lock themselves away. X-Project is an X-Men movieverse RPG on Livejournal. Set after X2, we've been running since May 2003 and use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. Be it classic superhero adventures, high school drama, dark and gritty spy games or interpersonal relationships, X-Project caters to everyone.

 The Wizarding World has seen its fair share of suffering, such as the reign of Lord Voldemort that occurred not once, but twice. But, as it was foreseen, good triumphed over evil and the world gained peace. It seemed to be everlasting for witches and wizards everywhere, a great relief to those who feared the worst in the midst of rebuilding. Twenty-five years later, someone now threatens to destroy the peace that has come to be, though not in such a way that would strike fear in the general public. It's much worse: Hogwarts has a new Headmaster and the students aren't going to like him. Tiberius Ogden was just appointed the position of Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the summer, the former Headmaster, Matthew Harrison, having abruptly retired when he suddenly came upon a very large sum of money. The Ogden name is famous for its liquor, though Tiberius has no interest in making drunks out of his peers. No, Tiberius Ogden followed another path, one of strict behavior that came with wielding a firm hand rather than a tap. A retired Hit Wizard, Tiberius has known a life of hardship and determination and believes that today's youth are becoming weak-minded prats. As a way to change this, he quickly took up the position Headmaster Harrison wished to discard. Students will be in for quite the shock when they return to school to have their yearly start of term feast. Not only are they receiving a new Headmaster, but he comes with a whole new set of rules - rules so numerous in count that a book of them was created - something each student will find at their seat. Transylvania: a land steeped in superstition and supernatural forces of unseen magnitude and power. While one hellmouth has closed there are others still active, older, and far more powerful than anything other parts of the world have ever seen. After destroying the hellmouth in Sunnydale, Buffy and her friends receive word from a seer in the Devon coven foretelling of a strange event taking place in Romania. Strange omens begin to follow and the small army of slayers sent to investigate the problem never return. Seeing no alternative, Buffy gathers her friends and sisters in arms and relocate to a castle perched in the heights of the Carpathian mountains seeking to find out just what's happening in the traditional home of the undead, and what's happened to the missing slayers sent before them. †  is a Buffy the Vampire Slayer group PSL set in Transylvania shortly after the end of the episode "Chosen". The game will act as an AU season eight/season five of Angel and welcomes all characters from both shows. A revolution has recently taken place within society’s attitude towards certain laws and civil rights. This transformation has left many traditionalists scared and fighting but most have been liberated due to the changes and are keen to allow them to continue. Mainly the rights for women and children have altered drastically. The change to female rights is almost immediately noticeable with the change of fashion.
Medical and scientific understanding has improved and the experimentation for artificial limb use and ‘upgrades’ to the physical being are becoming highly fashionable however extremely costly.
Whittlewell is the capital city of the British Empire and is on the cutting edge of the steam revolution. Its advances in air ship travel and compact innovations for steam capability are the envy of the world and have lead to the boon in wealth. However the gap between rich and poor is ever expanding.

In 2020 Jefferson City was destroyed in an accident that caused dimensional rips in reality, destroying the city and shattering the lives of all of the inhabitants. Everyone fled and the city turned to ruin. Everyone gave up on it until two investors began buying up the land the once great city stood upon.
Four years of investment and hard work and the city is back, two great towers on either side of the city watch over the now growing population as promise upon promise is made.
