The mutant gene popped up unexpectedly in 1999 though some would argue it began in 2000. For a while, maybe a year or so this had gone unnoticed but it was only for so long that something so spectacular could go unnoticed. It was in Wisconsin a boy by the name of Sammy Johnson had been spotted flying above his house by one of his neighbors. Immediately the neighbor had done the most logical thing she could do, inform the police. The police investigated, but the boy (and his parents) could not prove anything about this supposed ability of flight. Then, not even a week later a girl was caught turning invisible, another girl was creating acidic poisons with her hands and a newly wed couple was controlling and creating fire. Naturally, the Government had to get involved. They'd gone to these homes and these families to question them about their abilities, and after much deliberating and time the first mutant hospital was created in 2002. Immediately these people were shipped away to the hospital for testing. The term "mutant" had been coined and was quickly applied to anybody who possessed powers. With the knowledge of these mutants out, the human race was now growing to understand the real term of fear. Seven years ago, the Dark Lord Voldemort fell, finally bringing an end to his vicious reign of power and terror. Yet, the war did not end with his death. For years, the Wizarding World has worked to repair the damages left during the aftermath of war. Emotional burdens have yet to fully heal, too many lives destroyed, families torn apart, and friends lost. Hogwarts was left in rubble, unable to reopen for years, the damage too great, endless sweat and tears shed as people worked to rebuild the foundations to give their children a future. Death Eaters still roam free, cunningly avoiding even the best Aurors, leaving many in fear that another war will be on the horizon. As things begin to resemble some semblance of normalcy, an old follower of Voldemort is in the wings, plotting his revenge, gathering the remaining Death Eaters and new followers, planning to unleash a new war, wanting to finish his master’s vision. In the Ministry, a serial killer is murdering powerful political figures, leaving everyone pointing fingers and letting things slip through the cracks. Fenrir Greyback has escaped from Azkaban, butchering countless individuals as he runs from Aurors, gathering and making new werewolves in his travels, building an army to strike against the Ministry. Vampires have demanded equality for their race, threatening to reveal themselves to Muggles if the Ministry does not comply with their wishes and their campaign has given life to Hermione Granger’s political ambitions for equality to all magical creatures. The Prophet, with it’s new Editor-In-Chief, Katie Bell, now reports real news and is angering people throughout the Ministry for it’s blunt facts, politics, and critique of the Ministry. All the while, the Muggle World is at war in the Middle East, affecting the Wizarding World as it heightens. The entire world is in complete chaos. Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt is determined to rebuild the Wizarding Community into a vision of peace and has called forth some of the best Aurors from around the world in an effort to clean up the United Kingdom, determined to capture and imprison the remaining Death Eaters and send a clear message of constant vigilance to those seeking to do more harm. Many are unhappy with the Minister’s plans, many seeking to replace him and other important individuals, some willing to go to great lengths to achieve their goals. The Wizarding World is torn between fully recovering and moving forward and taking two steps back, arriving right back where they left off seven years ago. A new war is on the brink. fated_times is calling for all Heroes, Villains, and the in-between in the Heroes fandom. Come join us in the year 2014, with hopes of creating an even stronger military force, Sylar locates a child with a very special power and in attempts to use and control it he nearly kills the girl and disrupts the time space continuum, causing people to appear from different times both in the past and future all throughout the world. And people’s fears of these new people seem to be very well rooted – an overwhelming majority of these new people have abilities.
The world is in disarray, the things that President Petrelli has vouched for and tried so hard to show others that he make a reality are falling apart and the world is reluctant to rally behind him. Now is the time for a resistance to surge, but will there be someone who would dare to oppose President Petrelli? The world is waiting for a hero, and beginning to suspect that the villains aren’t the ones they’ve always been expecting. Where will their allegiance lie when the cards have fallen? No one is certain, but the only thing that people can decipher is that these are fated times.

In the 1970s, a war had begun to rage throughout wizarding Britain. People disappeared, entire families were killed-- and the world was torn between Albus Dumbledore's Order of Phoenix and Tom Riddle's Death Eaters. The Ministry of Magic stood nearly powerless to stop these massacres and the threat of a pureblood society taking complete control loomed overhead. A red scare suddenly ran throughout the wizarding world as the body count grew.
The tables turned when the Dark Lord received intelligence that he believed would seal the fate of this war. A prophecy about a child that would have the power to defeat him, and it quickly came to light that this child was born of Lily and James Potter. He set about trying to find the couple who had defied him three times, and dispose of their son.
On October 31st, 1980 the Dark Lord was finally able to find the Potters at their home in Godric's Hollow when Peter Pettigrew betrayed them. However, the Potters were not ill-prepared for the attack. Severus Snape had been able to warn Lily Potter of what was to come, and when the Dark Lord arrived that evening at Godric's Hollow-- he was not met with the happy parents and their child-- but the entire Order of Phoenix and an ambush. On that Halloween, the Dark Lord fell, and the wizarding world rejoiced.
Time marched on, and the world forgot about what had happened that Halloween in 1980. The families who had supported the Dark Lord were either jailed, disappeared or managed to buy their way into freedom with tarnished reputations-- but the Ministry of Magic and the Order of Phoenix managed to regain their hold and purge the world of darkness. The world was at peace, but the Dark Lord would not remain forgotten forever-- those true to him knew there were plans that could resurrect him-- but those plans had seemingly disappeared.
In a world that is falling into forgetfulness and repeating the past, where will you stand in this time of trial?

You might've noticed you're still largely human. I rather like that, but sometimes I'll do little things to change your appearance. Like, mmm, change how sharp your teeth are, put a few tattoos, and you'll always get a brand! If I happen to need you, it'll burn and we'll be back here. But that's something to be talked about later.

What if? Two words that are seemingly so simple, but that can mean absolutely everything. What if James and Lily Potter had evaded Lord Voldemort, and little Harry was never marked as his equal? What if the Order of the Phoenix had ultimately failed, and the Death Eaters had won the war? What if the the world as we once knew it has completely fallen apart? Novus Sceptrum is an AU Harry Potter RPG set in the year 1999, 10 years after the quote unquote end of the war. With the Order of the Phoenix now underground and Harry Potter in hiding, Voldemort and his Death Eaters rule the Ministry and muggleborns and half-bloods are shipped off in droves to 'purification facilities'. No one is safe from patrols and raids, and everyone sleeps with one eye open. What little hope remained is now fading, and a dark cloud has settled over everything. Something big is looming just on the horizon though, the faintest glimmer of hope. Will the remnants of the resistance make a last stand, or is it too late? Which side are you willing to take in the end? Premise The 1996-1997 school year ended with the death of Albus Dumbledore, but while he and Harry were uncovering the truth behind Lord Voldemort's immortality Lord Voldemort was himself in the final stages of a plan that would bring him that much closer to everlasting life.... To take over the Ministry of Magic. Break into the Department of Mysteries. And solve the mystery of the Veil -- the doorway between life and death. On 1 August 1997, a battle raged inside the Ministry as Death Eaters fought Aurors and Ministry officials for the control of the Ministry for Magic -- and the control of Wizarding England. The Order of the Phoenix found out hours too late, and by that time, Voldemort had won. The next day, the Daily Prophet announced that Lord Voldemort had declared himself Minister of Magic. The reaction was immediate, as countless witches and wizards fled the country. They, as the remaining magical population would soon discover, were the lucky ones. While St. Mungo's remains neutral and Gringotts Bank has taken a violently oppositional stance, the remaining wizarding institutions, including Hogwarts, have no choice but to go along with the Dark Lord's demands. While the Death Eaters have been running the country, slowly but surely destroying all that was good about wizarding society, Voldemort has been examining the veil. It didn't take long before he found a way out. Thus he entered through the veil to explore the realm of the dead. But what he didn't count on was that as he entered, someone was released. Looking exactly as they did the day they died, that soul, who was in stasis at the happiest time of their life, has no knowledge of current affairs or their life after that happiest moment. But they're back, and the only way out for them is to die again. But they don't remember death - they only remember life. Appearing in a discrete alleyway in the heart of Diagon Alley, they are lost, confused, and have no idea what to do. But soon after the first of the undead was discovered, those loyal to the Order have been carefully watching, making sure those who return are properly cared for and given the latest in wizarding communication: the journals. If they have family still alive, they are put in touch with them, and they do their best to readjust to life in 1997. But the question remains: what is Voldemort looking for beyond the veil? What is it that he thinks holds the key to immortality? September, 1978. School is back in session and though students should be safe within the walls of Hogwarts, one of Voldemort’s Death Eaters has infiltrated the school, securing the Defense Against the Dark Arts position. His mission? To kill Albus Dumbledore. The Dark Lord Voldemort is nearly at his full power and if Dumbledore is taken out of his way, he will have full control. After spending months fighting the Imperius Curse from Lord Voldemort, Minister of Magic, Millicent Bagnold, has completely broken from the Dark Lord’s control, a result of weeks of deception on her part. Aurors nearly caught Voldemort, but three Aurors were killed in the process and now the weakening Department of Magical Law Enforcement is getting desperate for more man-power. Professor McGonagall’s daughter has been rescued and has been able to identify her captor; Bellatrix Lestrange. Now the Lestranges are hiding in France; awaiting the Dark Lord’s orders, but the Dark Lord’s plans for them involve using them as bait for the Ministry of Magic. Even with his top follower on the run and his failings with the Minister, Voldemort has something else on his side; the Horcruxes. Having successfully created two, both in safe keeping, he searches for his mother’s locket and the cup of Hufflepuff, to create even more. Greyback is turning werewolves secretly and is stalking Remus Lupin’s fiancée, Dorcas Meadowes, planning to do unthinkable things to her. But breaking into the Ministry of Magic has distracted him. Now that he knows Auror Caradoc Dearborn is the one tracking him, what will be his fate? Alice Longbottom’s father, responsible for the death of her daughter, has been murdered by Bellatrix Lestrange, but the Ministry only has their eyes set on the Longbottoms and Dumbledore for the culprits. Lucius Malfoy has proposed a business marriage with Narcissa Black and the two powerful families are about to merge and the new Auror trainees will soon embark on a journey that will potentially lead them all to their deaths.
