The time.... Present Day. The place... New York City. The grandest city of them all. It's one of those places that everyone knows about; a place where dreams are made and hopes are shattered. More than just a place for writers, artists, poets, actors, business men and women; it is a place where things are lurking in the shadows. A place where beings have always lived amongst the mortals. Beings you and I have heard about but never dreamed were real. That is until one day in the year (2008) it is discovered that creatures we once believed only to exist in stories, television, and movies are REAL. What creatures am I speaking of? Vampires and Shape Shifters of course. They are the creatures that haunt our dreams or that teenagers pretend to be every day of the week. Yes it's true. They're real, and they walk amongst us. In an effort to track down and secure the location of all such beings[Now known as Homo Sapien Sanguis and Homo Sapien Lupus respectively] they are forced to register with the government. There is an entire division of the government, known as the SBI[Supernatural Bureau of Investigation] that are charged with tracking down, registering, and electronically tagging this beings. Any Vampire or Shapeshifter found to not have such a tag is immediately detained, questioned [sometimes tortured really] and forced to be put on probation. This kind of treatment has caused such beings to force themselves into hiding. The best place to hide? In plain sight of course. Do to the clever thinking of a few powerful and older Vampires as well as Shape Shifters a small island in the heart of New York, known as Roosevelt Island has become a sanctuary for such beings. This small island has it's own police force, political structure and is completely self sufficient from the rest of city. For these reasons SBI Agents have a hard time getting onto the island at all. Venture off the island and your life is in your own hands. That ladies and gentlemen is the choice that lies before you. What choice will you make? Registered? Rogue? Hunter? Vampire? Shape Shifter? Cerisaie Academy is a mix of plot- and character-driven play. The day-to-day life of the school, responses to events, and character development all play a role in the larger war that's coming. Three hundred years after the fall of the mutant race the world has not changed much. Science has made some advancements but the universe has yet to be fully explored, let alone colonized. There is still death and disease, deforestation and extinction, famine, war, and global warming. Humanity has managed to slow their progression, but has yet to fully correct these and other important issues which plague the world.

Some say the answers to the world's problems were lost with the last mutant. Most, however, have come to regard mutants as the quintessential mythic archetype, replacing the greeks and romans in the annals of history. Great heroes who may or may not have existed, with nothing but stories and the odd artifact to prove their existence.

According to lore, their homeland was the forbidden isle of Genosha. As the last supposed settlement of the mutant race, Genosha has been sealed by a unanimous edict of the United Nations. Its waters are patrolled by an international fleet year round to keep its secrets safe. However, the world's museums have had enough archaeological success in other reaches to have some record of the existence and brief history of mutants available to the public. Between these museum pieces and private collections, there is enough left of the mutant race to keep people both fascinated and skeptical.

Having been abducted from various realities to star in one of Mojo's intergalactic television series, a group of intrepid heroes finally make their escape. By comandeering Mojo's own inter-dimensional transporters they manage to escape Mojo's realm, but something went wrong and they find themselves in what appears to be a post apocalyptic world, their numbers augmented by the arrival of unfortunate souls snatched at apparent random from their own realities by the malfunctioning transporters. In truth, they have all appeared on the forbidden isle.

Now they must discover the new world they have come to; its limits, its laws, its history and its secrets. To guarantee their safety, and their survival, they must venture out beyond the wall. Into an unsuspecting world.

A world that may yet hold hope for them; and they for it.

Supernatural things don't exist or do they? Of course they don't but that is due to S.W.O.R.D (Supernatural World Observation and Response Department). They are the best kept government secret. They are deployed by the United States government to tackle terrorists or Supernatural things that ordinary humans can't handle.

In the year 2003, a band of terrorists appear but they aren't simply terrorists. They call themselves the Diabolus. They are a led by a figure no one has ever seen nor heard of. They're planning an attack on the World, taking a city each time. They already taken the city of San Francisco and Seattle and they're slowly making their way to Washington, DC. They killed humans easily and their superhero counterparts. They were a team of evil. After S.W.O.R.D defeated them in Phoenix, the Diabolus disbanded. S.W.O.R.D suffered ten casualties after that battle that lasted for three days. The United States noted January 21st, 2003: Diablo Day.

Now in Washington DC, in the year 2008, peace some what reigned over the world but rumors started to spread a weeks ago. The leader of the Diabolus was still alive and they're coming back with a bang.

Deep in the jungle of concrete and trees is New York City, a place that is considered to be the biggest melting pot of the world. It possesses qualities that make it a true Cosmopolitan city: it’s diverse, complicated, and always steeped in controversy. The population of people residing in NYC ranges from the ostentatious sophistication of high society to the daily grind of average Joes, this is New York City. It is a city where people come to make their dreams come true, or simply fall victim to the temptations that await. Cosmopolitan is a modern, PB-based storyline that welcomes characters from all walks of life; whether they are small business owners, artists, musicians, Broadway performers, college students, taxi drivers, and even sidewalk vendors. Cosmopolitan is not your typical apartment/resident type of storyline. Though, the main focal area is in Manhattan, NY, characters may live in any of the boroughs of New York. Select a subway line to reach your destination.

No warning. No previous signs. No explanation. But everyone's story has a middle bit that sounds the same. It involves the mentioning of a "blinding white light" and then the "feeling of the worst hangover imagineable." This is how they came to Penny Lane. Penny Lane is a main street in a place that doesn't exist; least not any map. It's a picture perfect sight from the sixties mod culture and yet modern day novelties can be found. The sun always sets a different color. the clouds tinted shades as well - and at night the stars sparkle to a inaudible universal symphony. Penny Lane eventually turns into a long and winding (dirt) road, that runs thru strawberry fields and ends at the Sea of Time. On the edge of the strawberry fields, nestled at the brim of the woods, are caves that burrow underground. At the other end of the Lane there's a different street visible, even people going about their lives, but they never seem to take notice of those on Penny Lane. No matter which way you try to go; there's no escaping Penny Lane no matter what. Machines that travel through time and space don't work, and those who can open portals between worlds at the wave of a hand find their power lacking. You can run and run and run - but you'll end up back where you started. You can try navigating the green waters of the Sea of Time - but you'll be dead before you lose sight of land. Braving the woods passed the strawberry fields only brings talk from the lonely locals of murderous creatures called Blue Meanies. Some people go mad. Some try to find a way out. Some cope with the better life they've been given. But they're all together now. And this is their story. RULES TAKEN HOLD APPLY
