boom·town: \ˈbüm-ˌtau̇n\ - Origin 1896 1. noun: a town enjoying a business and population boom. 2. slang: the proverbial location for sexual intercourse. 3. proper noun: the place to find your favorite heroes. Three men walk out of a bar. Into a cavalcade of photographers, reporters, and fans waiting with autograph pads, screaming and reaching for a piece of their clothing. The bartender is already giving a full report of exactly what they drank, who had one too many, and exactly what ladies got placed on the attention list. This is just like any other Hollywood scene, except for one important difference: these celebs don't get hustled into a limo to escape, and this isn't LA. This is Boomtown, and the limo is one 'up, up, and away' from the open night sky. Granted, flying while tipsy isn't advised, but it's better than beating the paparazzi in the face with a camera. Some things you just can't blame on super villain brainwashing. Yes, Boomtown. Where the spandex-clad (or not so very) go to hang their hats. From the outside, it might look like any other bustling metropolitan area. But the districts of Boomtown are laden with heroes, whether they know it yet or not. Each school, hospital, movie theater and county fair is destined to push out more suspiciously heroic activity than the annual Fireman's Kitten-Rescue Relay. Of course, where the heroes gather, so follow the press. The people so well known for saving the collective tushie of the world are hot and marketable, and often quite photogenic. While some heroes manage to slip past unnoticed, there are always the media hounds who keep the city hopping. Where go the heroes, of course, go the villains. There can be no rest for the wicked, after all, and they need a place to keep their spare dental extraction equipment, too. (At rent controlled prices, if possible.) To help keep the balance, Boomtown scientists have created hubs, so that they can travel to and from any major city to address these evildoers at a moment's notice. It's also really handy if they've forgotten that pesky anniversary present. No one's memory is perfect! (Except for The Amazing Elephant, but that's another story.) Come, learn how the better half live. No one can truly resist the urge to know what color underwear their favorite saviors sport underneath that skin-tight spandex, after all. The newshounds are here for a reason - they know a great story when they see one. But don't let them fool you, it takes more than the super-famous to keep a city running. Everyone has to pay their bills, take out their garbage, and get their groceries, no matter how many world leaders they've rescued from intergalactic kidnappers. Every cog in the massive machine that is Boomtown has its place, from the working stiffs to the elegant A-listers. The stories are generally a whole lot more interesting than what the paparazzi is reporting, too. A camera lens, however sneaky, can only see so much. And when you're dealing with heroes and villains, there's always more than what meets the eye. |

Ever Wonder What The Lives Of The Chosen Ones Are Really Like?
Welcome To New York's Upper East Side, Where we live and go to school and play and sleep - sometimes with each other. We all live in huge apartments with our own bedrooms and bathrooms and phone lines. We have unlimited access to money and booze and whatever else we want, and our parents are rarely home, so we have tons of privacy. We're smart, we've inherited classic good looks, we wear fantastic clothes, and we know how to party. Our shit still stinks, but you can't smell it because the bathroom is sprayed hourly by the maid with a refreshing scent made exclusively for us by French perfumers.
It's a luxe life, but someone's got to live it.

| The Premise |
| Voldemort is dead – has been for almost seven years now – the war should have been over that night long ago when Harry Potter did what no one dared believe he would do. The war, however, didn't end, but went on. Regrouping under Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange, the Death Eaters kept fighting and with the Ministry gone and the Minister for Magic killed, the wizarding world was thrown into chaos. From this chaos, two new factions were born. One group (under the leadership of Minerva McGonagall) wanted to open wizarding society to a decidedly suspicious Muggle world, whilst the others wanted to close off the wizarding world completely from Muggle influence and seek strength in isolation. With a brutal attack destroying Diagon Alley that left a part of London burning, the two factions of light realised that they must start working together to defeat the Death Eaters. The game began at this turning point of the war - the point where the side of light finally has a chance to win. But there is still a long way to go. Can these two factions put aside their differences to finally win this war, or will they dissolve into their own fighting, giving the Death Eaters a chance to overcome? Which side will your character support? |

| Beyond the Darkness RPG is a role-playing game based on the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. The setting takes place seven years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ends but is canon compliant only to Half Blood Prince (as the game began before the release of book seven). If you're looking for a game where player influence on the main plot is high and the moderators are willing to listen to your suggestions, then this is the game for you. One year running and still going strong, we see a bright future for the game. With plot-lines running far beyond the end of the war, we're not going anywhere for a long while. We are looking for creative and active players who want to build a story for their characters in this far from perfect world. All levels of experience are welcome, from the players who have never played an RPG before, to those who have played for several years. Game officially started on February 2nd 2007. |

| Due to RL for our players, we're at the moment we're actively looking to recast several important characters, as well as seeking those we feel could develop the over all game. The list of available characters is still large and varied however, so don't hesitate to take a look. Among those we're seeking to recast are: Minerva McGonagall, Percy and Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy, Hermione Granger, Bill, Charlie and Arthur Weasley...as well as several others. Examples of other needed characters would be Rita Skeeter, Vincent Crabbe, Zach Smith...and many others. We're especially looking for a Death Eater who could function as a spy within Upper Slaughter. This needs to be someone who could be recruited by Severus (so someone who trusts him), and also someone clever enough to manoeuvre around Rodolphus and Bellatrix - which is not an easy task. |

The Guy Friend [PB: Bryan Green, Jared Padalecki, etc. ]
You can't think of James without thinking of his best friend. Having been friends for the last ten years, these two started off as freshman at the same college, rooming together to now where they spend all their free time together. From drinking together, playing sports together, or watching sports together - the truth is they are about as predictable as possible in their friendship. Hell, the best friend considers James' little sister Lexi as his family and vice-versa.
The Chic Friend [PB: Doesn't Matter? ]
They met on a blind date, a group of friends having decided years ago they would be perfect for each other and for the most part they were right. Both can always talk to the other about anything, they like to take long pointless walks through the park together and enjoy similar food and events. However, what no on was expecting was there to be absolutely no romantic chemistry. While the two have tried dating over and over again, the same thing always happens. Lots of giggling, lots of uncomfortable silence, and a lot of regret for trying to be more then friends. Who knows, maybe one day they'll fall in love but for now they are just friends, best friends.

If James wasn't a resident, if he wasn't half dating CJ, and if he was a couple years younger he would be married to this girl in seconds. The fact is they have a flirty relationship mostly filled with him throwing himself at her and drooling over her. She's a cute spunky girl after all with more attitude then he knows what to do with. So for now the two go out on "dates", he makes her laugh and he dreams endlessly of being at least four years younger so he wouldn't feel like such a dirty bastard for having a crush on her.

 It's 2006 and Alice is busy planning a wedding, Bella is busy trying to figure out if she's really ready for everything, Jacob is finally back home but hurting and still pinning over Bella, and Heidi is about to set up camp in Port Angeles. The Volturi are a lot more interested in Bella and the Cullens than the Cullens think. They have been debating how to go about making sure Bella is changed, and new hunting ground. The story starts a week or so before Heidi comes to America with two other Volturi members. Rachel Black comes home and everything appears to be calming down. That is until more vampires show up... Not just the three Volturi, but the Denali family come down from Alaska for a visit to the Cullen's. They want to know why they've heard rumors about the Volturi coming States side.... Meanwhile the humans are just caught in the middle of mythological battles. Let the tale begin.  It's the end of the world as we know it. Will you be able to survive? It's the year 2013 and humans with superpowers are common place. The government had installed a registration program to keep track of these metahumans. Only problem was that most didn't take kindly to it. Banded together, metahumans rose up against the governments of the world and started a new world war. In a last ditch effort to win, the United States released a virus. The virus killed metahumans and humans alike. When the dust settled, only a small percentage of the world's population was left. Cities were left in ruin. Now it's up to those left to continue on and try to make a life out of what is left. Who will rise up to try and make a new world? Metas or humans? Humanity Lost is a post apocalypse roleplaying game that doesn't take place months or weeks after it happens but picks up in the direct aftermath. The group majority left standing are metahumans, humans with super human powers. If you like X-Men or other Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Heroes, The 4400, or other such fandoms, this rp might be for you.
