 The Cure didn't work. So the government decided to step in and put it up a notch. The Mutant Registration Act was finally passed. All mutants are required to carry IDs stating their mutation or they would be arrested for breaking the law. Separate prisons were built for mutant criminals. The use of mutant powers in public not only incited riots, but now carries a minimum prison sentence of fifteen days. The great activist of mutant rights, Charles Xavier is dead. Erik Lensherr is back, powerful then ever, with a new Brotherhood of Mutants behind him. The future looks like a bleak place to be for mutants, but Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters flourishes under Ororo Munroe, the new Headmistress. She, along with the mutant only known as Logan, educate the young mutants of tomorrow and provide a beacon of hope to the mutant community.  - Plot - Rules - Character List - Played-Bys - Team Info - Apply - - Contacts (F-Lock) - Advertise (F-Lock) - So we all know that Captain Jack Harkness runs Torchwood Three, that Torchwood One was destroyed in the Battle of Canary Wharf, that Torchwood Two is headed by "a very strange man" and that Torchwood Four is currently misplaced. Well that's all fine and dandy, but things are about to start changing. Torchwood One is reopening just outside of London and is now known as Torchwood 1.1 and Torchwood Two's leader has been replaced. Torchwood Three of course isn't any different, with the exception that Jack has been missing for a bit. The big thing is that Torchwood Four is back on the map, headed by the same person it had been before it was 'misplaced'. It seems Torchwood Four, headed by one Major Charlie Sheppard, had a minor malfunction involving Cardiff's rift. In fact, Torchwood Four is located right near Torchwood Three, or at least it was until it and its team got pulled into another universe. Which is where Lucian Devereaux comes in. It seems that he got a hold of a Time Agent's vortex manipulator in the far future and has been using it at his own pleasure. Well, until it backfired and he was sent to the present and made the rift flux, sucking Torchwood Four into it. Luckily, Major Sheppard wasn't there at the time. Now as for Lucian, he'd been jumping through time randomly and unwillingly as he tried to fix the vortex manipulator. During this time he realized that he'd jump from the present in Cardiff to some different point in time and then back. Along the way, he managed to bring back people with him who shouldn't be during that time, and that caused the rift to go haywire, also bringing people to the present that shouldn't be there: those that are dead, those who aren't born yet, and those in other dimensions. And so, Torchwood realized they needed to work extra hard to try and stop this and thus re-established Torchwood Four, somehow convincing Charlie to head it once more. And that is where we begin... Ever at the ready is a Torchwood/Doctor Who RP that allows for any character from either series (old and new) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place around the start of season two. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still, including The Doctor (any of them) and most of Torchwood Three. We're also looking for bad guys and aliens to be hunted down, as well as people to fill up the other Torchwood Teams. If you think you're ready, then we're ready to have you join the team! Things are tense at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Rumors of Voldemort's return are being whispered amongst the students, voices hushed and nervous as the latest bit of information makes the rounds. Fear has settled heavily on many shoulders, quickly bringing uncertainty and mistrust to an already divided school. Who belongs to which side? Are there spies amongst the students? What will happen next, who will die next? Can anything be done? The school may be safe from the outside wizarding world, but are the students safe from each other? The generations-long battle between the houses hasn't gotten better, and current tensions have done nothing but elevate the rivalries to a new level. To make matters worse, an anonymous group of four girls have stepped things up, creating a vicious gossip paper that periodically and sporadically details information about their fellow students. Details that only close friends would know. Details that no one is ever happy about having shared with the entire student body. It's called Bavardage. No one knows who publishes it, or how information is gathered for it. The only certain thing about it is that it is another source of trouble and uncertainty. With the teachers seemingly unable to stop new issues from going out and the issues getting progressively nastier and revealing more secrets, the last, thin threads of trust amongst the houses are fraying quickly. Friendships are being challenged and broken, and new, dangerous liaisons are being built. The general consensus is that the girls must be stopped: but how? The purebloods are getting snobbier every year, the halfbloods are losing recognition for their minds and intellect and the muggleborns are treated as welfare cases on scholarship from the British Prime Minister. The whole student body is stuck in a downward spiral, trapped by an endless ring of rumors and lies. Libel and slander are not punishable, but instead encouraged. There's nothing more important than bringing down anyone suspected of being responsible for Bavardage. People are getting hurt, and not just by the paper. With no one able to trust anyone else and constant fights breaking out, the search for the guilty is getting nowhere extremely fast. There's war brewing, and not just outside of Hogwarts. Somewhere within the castle that is supposed to be one of the few safe refuges left in the wizarding world, four girls are playing a dangerous game with their fellow students. Will the school collapse onto itself, or will the youth of the wizarding world be able to band together and overcome the fear, distrust, and rivalries that are threatening to tear Hogwarts apart? There was a moment, albeit a brief one, before Snape leveled the curse at Dumbledore, killing the leader of the Order that a spell could be cast. The moment wasn't long, but it was enough for Dumbledore to throw one last kink in Voldemort's armor. It had been a spell years in the making -- a final chance for all of Wizarding kind. With a few short words, Albus Dumbledore had managed to fool time. It built off the power of the Time-Turner and rather than sending himself forward in time, he had managed to send the rest of Wizarding kind forward to the year 2000. They aged and they learned in a mere blink of an eye. In theory, they had gained the knowledge they would need to defeat Voldemort. There was only one catch. The spell would come at a terrible price. The rest of the Wizarding World would live their lives out... like the daily plots on a Soap Opera. Given the alternatives, it hadn't seemed like such a bad idea at the time. Maybe he had been wrong. The trio is still after the horcruxes and out to defeat Voldemort but they must deal with the drama in their own lives as well. Life no longer has rules. It's every man for himself -- and any bed you can find your way to. Note: While we do ask for plot approvals, this is a character and player-centric game. The game is driven by you the players and your plot ideas. It's intended to be crackish. While there may be serious things going on, the game is intended to be light hearted. A Harry Potter AU Role Play Located on Insane Journal After Dumbledore was killed and Harry was left with a fake Horcrux, the boy-who-lived became determined to bring down Voldemort. Of course, Harry wouldn't be allowed to go on such a task without the help of his friends Ron and Hermione (they aren't called the Golden Trio for no reason!). The three of them searched high and low, with haste and dedication that was to be admired. All the while keeping contact with the order so they could keep track of what the Dark Lord was doing. A month before school was set to start the trio finally found the last Horcrux. They destroyed it and let out a huge sigh of relief - their laborious task would soon come to a close. With the Horcruxes gone Harry set off to destroy the wizard who had taken so much from him. Voldemort had his Death Eaters by his side, as Harry had the Order. The final battle was a blur of flashing light from hexes and curses being thrown from one wizard at another. With several casualties from both sides, Harry and the Order found themselves victorious. It is now the trio's last year at dear old Hogwarts. With Kinglsy Shacklebolt as the Minister of Magic, the wizarding world was both rejoicing and trying to return to a normal state of living. The Minister and Headmaster McGonagall decided that more needed to be done to promote tolerance among the wizarding community and that the best place to start that was in Hogwarts. When the students received their shopping lists for school they also were given a magical journal. The journal would be used to bring the students together, no matter what House they resided in. The students would be able to communicate with one another at any given time and share their thoughts or daily happenings. Of course, privacy must always be given for privacy's sake, and the students were also able to hex certain bits of their writing to be kept private from everyone or just a specific group of people. Remember though, that this is Hogwarts. An anonymous student or group of students - no one is really sure - came up with a new spell. A spell that would allow them to write entries in their journals and have it show up in the other journals without any name attached to it. Instead it is always signed 'The Revealer'. The spell is used by the students to spread gossip anonymously throughout the school and the spell quickly got around. Now, the journals that had been meant for harmony and unity had become a tool for spreading the private goings on of the students, whether they were true or false. With The Revealer tearing through Hogwarts what will happen to the students? Will they overcome the rumors and be able to keep their friendships and possibly make new ones or will it tear them apart? |

In response to the initiation of the Superhuman Registration Act, heroes of the world find themselves divided among those for and against it.
