Very Superstitious

With the signed waiver from Professor Anderson in hand, if unusually obtained, the New Directions used the floo network to arrive in Chicago the morning of the competition. The club was a mix of nervousness and excitement in anticipation of their first nationals competition. They were scheduled to perform seventh today, so the group settled into their seats to watch the first few performances before going backstage to prepare their own performance.

After watching some impressive performances from across the country, including last years' winners Vocal Adrenaline, the New Directions went backstage in anticipation of going on stage. After an unusual performance from a California Glee Club seemingly in celebration of marijuana legalization (or perhaps the the musical Hair it was hard to tell the difference), it was the New Directions' turn.

Rachel walked forward towards the microphone as the curtain rose. With her brightest stage smile, she announced, "We are the New Directions!"
