Aloysius had worked very hard on The Carnival ever since he’d conceived of the idea for it. Oh, certainly there were other clubs, even a couple of wizarding ones, in the UK, but there was no one huge hotspot like there often was in the Muggle world. And there was definitely none in the spirited center of the wizarding world, which is exactly where one ought to be.
The place was larger on the inside than the outside, dimly lit, excellent sound systems. Huge mix of music, though no live band – tonight. He hoped to start enticing people to perform here, and he knew he would if he garnered enough success. But the DJ was brilliant, and he wasn’t in the least worried.
He had decided to open on one of his favorite themes, Masquerade. After all, what people, out to have a good time and maybe meet someone, or have someone meet them, didn’t love to play dress up to that extent?
Himself, he was all out exotically dressed, though this wasn’t abnormal. Billowing sleeves and brightly patterned silk fabric, pants that clung, rings on almost every finger – not really far from his usual, to be honest. To go with the theme, he’d laid on the cosmetics with an expert hand – and drawn on an elaborate, intricate mask all around his eyes and letting it engulf much of his face in a way that would draw a fascinated eye.
Then, to make it that much better, since it was masquerade, he left the glamour off of his cat-slit, amber-gold eyes, knowing he could easily say they were the glamour and pretty much every single person would believe him.
The opening had gone brilliantly, and now the place was full of a good beat and people teaming all around, some at the bar, some at the floor. There was the main floor and then there was the half floor upstairs that looked down upon this. Aloysius smiled with sly satisfaction at the turnout and turned to chat up another person, to see how they were enjoying themselves thus far.
