Tag to Megan
Who: Michael and Megan
When: Today... look I don't really want to look up the time right now.
Where: Starting in Meg's bookstore.
Summary: Fun and adventures!

Having the day off, Michael rarely stayed at home. Even if he was tired, he fell asleep in the most awkward of places. Park benches, the undergrounds waiting for a train, even against light poles. Today he was hoping for something more... fun.

And what was more fun than walking into a bookstore full of really cute girls, that was also run by a really cute woman? Well, what ensues after, of course. The two that were working smiled at the handsome regular that came in. Michael winked at them both, and like the sun rising every morning, a blush spread through their faces.

Spying the springy brunette that he was pursuing - distracted at the counter, as she counted books or something or other - Michael waltzed up and placed his arms crossed upon the edge.

"Excuse me, Miss? Could I speak to a manager? There's just too much work and not enough play going on in here."

Well, if he was looking for fun, a bookstore might not have been the most obvious of places to find it, but as it was Megan Jones' bookstore, the choice was slightly less bizarre!

Megan had been busying herself with the task of placing price tags on books when Michael had walked in and had been so focused she didn't notice the jingle of the bell, nor the flirtacious wink, or the tell-tale blush upon her workers' faces. It wasn't until a voice interrupted what had become a rather delicate and tedious project- those bloody stickers kept getting annoying creases in them- that Megan realized he was there.

With her third attempt, Megan managed a wrinkle-free price tag, and looked up at Michael with a rather triumphant smile. "Well, Mister, the manager's out, but we've got a comment box in the back if you'd like to leave a note." With a soft laugh, she moved around the counter, waving a blushing beauty over to take her spot.

"Michael Corner. What brings you to my humble no-fun bookshop this afternoon?"

Michael doesn't use the obvious, only when he can point it out. And right now, he only needs to say that there is a lack of fun going on.

Whatever Megan had been doing looked testing and trite. He looked from the labels to the books and shrugged.

"Well, could you show me this comment box... in the back? I think I might need some help finding it. And I'd really like to make this complaint. I think it's valid," he said, a grin rising across his face.

"What brings me here? I think you do, Miss Megan Jones," the brunette replied candidly.

Megan grinned up at her friend- that was the thing about being as short as Megan, you always looked up at everyone- before peering around him toward the back. She quirked a brow at him and placed a hand on either hip. "Mister Corner, are you trying to lure me into the back of the store in order to have your wicked way with me?" she asked. "Because, if so, I have to tell you, I'm not that kind of girl. Flowers are a definite prerequisite."

At his explanation for stopping in the shop (as if she'd been expecting him to say he was looking for a book), Megan stepped up to give him a hug in greeting. "And how have you been? Still doing the accounting thing?" She still couldn't believe Michael Corner had taken that career path. Numbers. Ew.

Michael never thought of Megan as too short. To him, every girl was. But Megan seemed to be of perfect girlish height to him.

"I may be insinuating such a thing, but only after I pop in to Flowers by the Hour, a few doors down," he grinned, jabbing his thumb towards the door.

Michael would have been insulted. He reads. Kinda. When he has time. Right now novels are collecting dust on his coffee table as he stands.

"Yep. What can I say? Numbers are a sultry mistress," he said with a shrug.

"Tulips are preferable," she informed him with a small giggle, before lightly swatting down his hand.

"So sultry that you've come to seek entertainment elsewhere?" she asked, raising a brow. Not that she minded. Megan loved comapany, particularly when it came in the form of an attractive accountant named Michael Corner. "Or did you finally realize you've been neglecting me for far too long?"

"Right, tulips!" Michael rose both hands and with the flourish of a mime, acted as if he were writing on a notepad with quill to remind himself, "tulips for the lovely bookstore owner. Got it."

"A man has needs, Meg," he said in a hearty tone while thumping his chest, "And I just so happen to need you," he countered with a grin.

"I've not neglected! Have I neglected? I don't think that's the proper term.. I would say.. hmm.. maybe in more words.. that I've relinquished my presence from your eyes so that when you see me again, you'd realize you missed me. What's that phrase... Absence makes the heart grow fonder? So, how fond of me are you now?" the Ravenclaw graduate teased gently.
