That was exactly what Megan had been afraid of. The first thing Megan saw when she pushed open the door was a terrified-looking Hannah. Had she thought her kidnappers were back for her again? She grimaced inwardly at the thought. She couldn't imagine living in a state of fear like that. It had been bad enough when she had been afraid of being kidnapped in the first place. Having experiences to base things off of must have been so much worse.
"I'm good," Megan answered, doing her best to pretend as if she hadn't seen her friend go into panic mode. "I brought you these." She placed the colorful vase of flowers on her bedside table. "Thought they'd bring some life into the place." Megan hated hospitals. "How're you doing?"
