Hi guys.

Things have been really, really quiet around here lately. There are several characters who have been completely inactive for the past two weeks (answering machines are not counted as a journal post but are included in commenting for this check).

I understand that there are things that get in the way, and we are very understanding about that. We only ask that you let us know if you're going to be on hiatus for a while.

I've noticed especially that there are a severe lack of journal posts. These are really important for character development and keeping plot going, so please don't be shy with the journal updates.

Y'all are a fantastic group of players, so let's showcase your talent more often, yeah? :D The activity check is listed below.

Glad to see everyone settling in. I got my wisdom teeth out today so I'm unsure whether I'll be up and rping tonight due to the drugs + discomfort + love for sleep. There will be a bit of a plot push coming up, which I may try and begin today, but maybe not.

Meebo is an online web client which allows you to connect to AIM and it works better than AIM online or even other AIM downloadable programs. Give it try!

WELCOME BACK!

Yes, it's official. Veritas is back, and better than ever! We have a new home ...and although insanejournal might leave a little to be desired in terms of naming, it works, and it also gives us who used to play the game awhile back, a fresh new start.

The RPG

So, let's start at the basics. The RP takes place FIVE YEARS after the trio graduated hogwarts. We are still AU for Book 6 or 7, though the horcruxes are all the same. The Hogwarts seige occurred...the students had that big ol battle...and that's pretty much all we're keeping of old history. You can read the 'backstory' section on the userinfo for the events which your character should have intergrated into their own history. Other than that, anything from way back is up to you to keep, and up to you to inform the other players when you do your re introductions.

The one plot from last year that we will also keep is the fact that there was an attack by the Renegades on the Quidditch World Cup. You can make up whatever you want your characters to have experienced there, whether or not you did or not. New players, don't worry about this, just know there was an attack, some people were badly hurt. Arcturus Burke, our Minister of Magic, continues to deny the possibility of the escapee Deatheaters having formed a coherent rebel group. This will be vaguely addressed in a newspaper article soon.

For older players: The spirit young version plot? Never happened!

So, what I'm trying to say is the last five years are a BLANK for your characters, you decide what they've been up to after Hogwarts ended. You decide their relationships and associations with others. Have fun, go wild. Brand new RPG.

Insane Journal

I know most members of the RPG are used to GJ, and I'm not sure if many people have really used Insane Journal (myself included). There are no 'notifications' features, so I suggest you have email notification turned on, ALWAYS check the ooc board, and check threads your belong to to make sure it's your turn to RP.

Also when you comment on a post, you only get your keywords and not a tiny thumbnail of your icons, so keyword well or have your icon page open as you thread.

If you want to change your layout to something nicer that you don't have to html yourself...Go to customize and select STYLE SET 2. Then you can pick ready made layouts, which happen to be a lot better than GJ's were.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF

Some of us are old, some of us are new. Introduce yourself on the ooc board ASAP and introduce your characters. If you were a old player (like from before post-hog) then mention perhaps what you are changing with your character so people don't fall into old habits.
