Current location:The forest near the gas station
Entry tags:!dropped, !incomplete, cielo, day 03, lexie grey, location: gas station, rorschach

Day Three: Arrival Thread, Early Morning
Who: Ciello, Lexie, Rohrshack
What: Being dropped into the woods
Where: Near the gas station
When: Crack of dawn
Rating: PG-13 - Rish... All depends on Rohrshack, me thinks.

Certain things about her present situation didn't make a lick of sense to Lexie Grey. First off, she was laying on her stomach. This was in stark contrast to the fact that the most recent pose she had been was standing. Next, she was quite certain she was outside because of the rather pleasant breeze that whipped across her face. This would not make much sense given the fact that she had been inside the observation gallery. Third and finally, Lexie was quite certain that the smell was that of fresh dirt. The sort of dirt that had just been rained on. Again, dirt had no place in the OR gallery.

Snapping her eyes open, Lexie marveled at the forest she suddenly found herself in. Was she hallucinating? It didn't make any sense to have been in the gallery one minute and laying in the middle of nowhere the next. Tentatively, Lexi reached down and pinched her thigh, eliciting an "Ouch!" as her reaction. She could be having sensory and visual hallucinations. But, why? She wasn't all that more stressed than usual and she was healthy... why was she sitting in a forest?

"H-h-hello?" She stammered, pushing herself to a standing position. Dressed in scrubs and  sneakers Lexie actually was feeling quite naked. Spinning about she spotted a pouch laying nearby, "H-hello?" She asked again, tentatively bending over to pick up the pouch.

Cielo didn't yet know enough to read the expression on the woman's face as anything but friendly, but the fact that there was anything even close to a smile helped to put him close enough to ease that he began to relax. He answered the small smile with one of his own and his arms moved to cross behind his head. He opened his mouth to follow his lost question with another but he stopped short as soon as a lazy motion to one side caught his attention. He gave the stray hat a speculative glance but he certainly didn't take it as a warning for the body which soon followed.

Cielo quickly scuttled back a half dozen steps and one arm moved to guard over his face while the hand of the other instinctively dropped to reach for his gun. It was in this second that Cielo came to realize that his gun was most certainly not where he left it. This realization was rapidly followed by awareness of the fact that the pouches he wore around his waist were also gone and his tag ring and its chain were not around his neck. His brow furrowed in confusion, but he knew that there were more pressing issues at hand.

He turned a wary eye to the stranger who had fallen from the tree. The black marks on the white of the mask made him think of atma, but again the lack of recognized tribe colors gave him pause. "'ey, we don't want any trouble," Cielo called. He moved slightly, stepping to stand just a bit in front of the woman, but he frowned confusion as he registered the stranger's words. "Mission? What...mission?"

Under his mask, Rorschach smirked. Fear meant respect, in his book, and to see it filled him with a certain vindictive joy. He watched the woman retreat and attempt a comment to demonstrate that she was harmless. He also noticed, with some interest, that the young man was reaching for an absent weapon. It seemed that at least one of these people had some experience with combat of some nature; Rorschach made a note-to-self to be a bit more careful around him, though he seemed to be more accustomed to long-range fighting.

"No trouble. Not here to cause any," Rorschach said in his gravelly voice. There weren't any top-knots around, and it didn't seem worth it to break the fingers of two people so clearly confused. They knew nothing that would be relevant, and Rorschach experienced one of those rare moments where he realized that he actually had something in common with other people. "Mission. Secret. Wouldn't tell you."

Lexie was a bit taken aback as Cielo walked a bit between she and the masked man. It was a protective gesture, and Lexie hadn't expected that. A reasonable person would have started backing away slowly, not made direct eye contact, and given up their goods. That's what you were supposed to do when you were mugged right (well, that and scream like hell; but, in the woods who the hell would hear you scream?)

Masked-wonder started babbling about a mission and not causing trouble etc. Lexie wasn't too certain what to make of it. Ciello continued to ask questions and for the life of her, Lexie didn't understand why. You run away from freaky people and you don't look back. Or you call for a psych consult. This wasn't the sort of 'I have problems with alcohol' issues; this was I'm walking around in a flippin mask issues.

Clamming up, Lexie crossed her arms and chewed her lip. She didn't know which way to run and she didn't want to leave Cielo.

For a brief moment, the silence from the woman confused Cielo and he found himself glancing back over his shoulder at her. The physical reactions, the backing away and the chewing at her lip, spoke of what he thought was fear but he wasn't certain enough to hang a firm name on it just yet. Still, she appeared to be a rare civilian so that probably meant that she should be covered instead of having to try to fight on her own -- right?

"It'll be okay, sis," Cielo called over his shoulder. He offered her a bright smile and an almost casual wave of his hand as if this were all just a casual meeting in a neutral place rather than a case of waking up in an entirely strange forest with weird masked men who liked to fall out of trees. Not that Cielo wasn't curious about both their current location and the reason said masked man was hiding up in trees, but he wasn't at the point of getting severely stressed over it. "See, even the weirdo with the mask thinks so."

Speaking of the weirdo with the mask -- Cielo turned his attention back around front. His arms crossed over himself, he tipped his head curiously at the masked man and, for all the world, he looked like a curious child just trying to figure out why the silly adult was being so needlessly vague. "What's the big secret? You're not hiding the reason for why we're here, are you?"

Rorschach noticed the woman's unease and fear; typical for females, he thought disdainfully. The young man with her was continuing to puff himself out and strut around like he could not only protect her, but himself as well. Either he was bluffing, or completely unaware of what Rorschach was capable of doing. He waited patiently for the young man to finish his reassurance to the woman (brave) and calling Rorschach a "weirdo" (dangerous and foolish).

Ciello did resemble a child, and that was how Rorschach was beginning to see him. Children, of course, did not get to hear important secrets. Not that Rorschach seemed to know the one that was most relevant. "Am like you. Don't know why we're here."

Am like you

Yeah, the dude had just said that, right? Oh, now Lexie was just feeling like a total lame duck. Just because the guy looked kind of weird, and talked kind of weird, and totally skeeved her out; well, was it really right for her to totally judge him like that? Shouldn't she at least wait for him to do something insane like... eating human flesh? Or talking to trees? Or saying that the aliens were living in his brain?

"I'm Lexie," She quietly introduced herself to the pair of them, forcing back on the facade of total confidence. "We should probably go look for a phone or something, right? Call for help?"

Help in getting out of here

Though he did still have his doubts about the strange masked guy, Cielo quickly decided to just accept that they were all in the same boat and to not hold whatever it was that drove him to wear a mask against the other man; who knew? Maybe there was some sort of deformity involved...or maybe he was using it to disguise his own atma mark. Whatever it was, it certainly wasn't the most important thing to worry about.

"Just call me Cielo," he answered Lexie's introduction in kind and even offered her another cheerful little wave. The mention of trying to find some help did seem like a good idea and so he nodded, but his head remained cocked to one side as he thought it over. "This..." He paused a moment, searching for the right word for all the greenery and failing to find it. "This place can't be so big, yea? We can walk a bit and see if there's a complex or anything."

The idea of climbing up on one of the taller structures in order to scout out the area did occur to him but doubts of how useful any such action would be kept him from actually bringing it up.
