Management Thread: 8:00AM, Carnival
Who: The Management and OTA
What: Survey collection and funtimes
Where: The Carnival
When: 8:00AM
Rating: Well, that would depend on who shows up

The Management had promised to be making their rounds today. They would be, too.

Spot 1: The Carnival. 8:00. It was 8:00 and the carnival was quiet. The Doctor known as John Smith hadn't slept there last night, and right now he was probably wishing that he had so he could have front row seats to their first encounter with their captors. However, for now, at precisely the stroke of 8:00AM, the carnival was deceptively quiet. No music or games. No fanfare. It was just empty paths with empty booths and rides that might have worked once upon a time.

Check your watches, the Management will be here soon enough.

"Cute." The disgust was blatant in her tone and she might have rolled her eyes under different circumstances. "Care to share with me something I don't know?" When he didn't take the journal from her right away she pulled her arm back, flipping it open to rip out the page that was deemed necessary. She was at least careful not to rip through her writing, not wanting to have to hastily fill it out again. "Here." She held out the piece of paper, still trying to keep a bit of distance between them. Selene didn't want to get any closer to him than she absolutely had to.

The Management smiled. He liked the lively ones. She wasn't like Jenny. No, Jenny would be failing for a moment and then she'd crumble. She'd start begging him to let people go. She'd start saying how she deserved to die. Blah, blah, blah.

"Something you don't already know..." He was tasting those words. "Full moon in three days." Was he lying, Selene? Would you dare take that chance?

Then she opened that book of hers and pulled out the page holding it out like she expected him to reach out and snatch both her and it. Taking a measured step forward he gently pulled the paper away, folding it he placed it in his pocket.

"Thank you for your cooperation."

She pressed her lips together in a tight line as he seemed to think and then spoke, and she couldn't stop the slight raise of her brows or widening of her eyes. Shit. If he was telling the truth...

It was a relief when he took the paper and did nothing else, mostly because it meant she had done what was necessary and could leave. Well, leave his presence, at least. Of course, the mention of a coming full moon had her more tense than before, mind rushing to try and think of ways she could prevent the young werewolf from running wild through the town. "I don't suppose there's a chance of getting released any time soon. Alive, mind you." That she didn't bother to pose as a question. Unlike some, she didn't have her hopes up.

He watched her expression shift from the comfort behind dark glasses. Fascinating, there was certainly something to be said for watching this all in person that the camera just couldn't capture.

The Management wasn't here to do anything but take the surveys, that was all. He'd be back at his desk soon enough with his Grande Vanilla Latte soon enough. Until then, he'd take the paper, put it in his pocket and smile and wave. Well, do his own version of smiling and waving.

"Not my department," he said flatly to her question.

"Of course not." Because that would be too convenient. She eyed him a few moments more, uncertain if she should be expecting some sort of surprise attack or something. It seemed a little too easy, that they'd simply be allowed to walk away, just like that. Then again, she was relatively calm and not trying to rail against their apparent captors like some likely might, so it was quite possible everyone was being tended to on a case-by-case basis. It was what she would do. "Well... if that's all then, I'll be on my way." she finally said after a minute or two, taking a few steps backward. She was very hesitant to turn her back, not wanting to let her guard down for a second.

The Management almost cracked a smile. Almost. No, he was only internally amused at Selene's annoyance.

"That's all," he said standing quite still like he was waiting for the bull to charge. Even as Selene backed away those covered eyes stayed quite affixed to her.

"Take care of that Lycan," smirk.

It was a relief to be allowed to leave, as the vampire found it hard to take anything at face value anymore. And around here it certainly wasn't safe to. A frown did darken her face at the mention of Remus, and she wasn't sure if it was a taunt to kill him or look out for him. Best not to think about it right now. Instead she backed away a few paces more, until she reached one of the empty booths that she could turn and slip behind.

And then the vampire was out of there as fast as her inhuman speed could take her.
