Who: Shannon Rutherford, Amatarasu, Ianto Jones, Merope Gaunt, L. Lawliet, Kim Boggs, Sarah Jane Smith, Remy LeBeau, Church, Lexie Grey [no enforced posting order]
What: Experiment time!
Where: An undisclosed location
When: Day 17 7:00am - close of day seventeen
Rating: TBA
Status: Active

Each character will awaken in a room with another character and will be missing their journals. Each will have their own very comfortable twin bed. The Room is comfortably accommodated and should the subject look into the closets of bureau they will find clothing appropriate to their sense of style and size. Each room has it's own bathroom complete with toilet, tub and shower. Each bathroom is stocked with products the character would be familiar with.

The doors to the five bedrooms all open into a large common area which includes a television (no cable; just a large collection of assorted movies and an X-Box with an assortment of games); a bookcase with various titles and genres; a large sectional sofa; a dining table; and a large kitchen. The Kitchen will have an induction cooktop stove; a large refrigerator; various appliances and copious amounts of fresh foods. The style of this room is contemporary but comfortable. The floors are carpeted and everything is modern.

Clearly, this room is intended to make the subjects comfortable. Conspicuously absent: Windows.

There is an area which is clearly a door; however, it has no handle from the inside. Over this door is a large blue sign "Departure Point." A sign on the door indicates the following.

"Thank you for your participation here at Vas Captio. This area is intended for your use and comfort. Please be mindful to be clean and courteous as this room will be occupied shortly after you leave. Further instructions as to your departure will be included as they become more final. Thank you for your patience."

"Don' be sorry, chere." Gambit returned with an easy chuckle dripping off his lips. He really seemed nice enough, most times, but it was those eyes. It was those eyes, wasn't it, Lexie? Unnatural. Like something straight out of Hell, right? Red-eyed Devil. He was turning then to finish drying off and begin tugging on fresh, clean-smelling clothes. oh, that was just wonderful. And only when he was done, and stepping out of the bathroom in his socks, did he turn those eyes onto Lexie once again.

"Shower's free, better take one 'fore we ain' in here no more, oui?" He lifted his eyebrows in almost a suggestive way. "Gonna go ou' an take uh look 'roun', see if 'dere's anyt'in' t' ea'." He lifted a gloved hand to wiggle his fingers at her, before sock-covered feet were taking him soundlessly to the door. "C'mon ou' when you rea'y." For breakfast, apparently.

Seemed nice enough? To who, blind nudists who enjoyed people who oozed sex and hit on everyone? Because the blind people wouldn't mind those impossibly scary eyes and nudists wouldn't care about the misplacement of the Cajun's towel. She tried to ignore him while he pulled on his clothes, sitting on the edge of the bed, smelling the steam and the soap like it was the most amazing thing on earth. A real shower. With a door. And a curtain. And real soap. Lexie was pretty damned near ready to run for the bathroom door at any moment.

"You think everyone else is here, too?" She asked quietly before he'd gone. She was thinking of Andy, Dean and Elliot. They'd be here, too, right?

That's right! blind nudists! But at least he wasn't trying to attack her or stab her or, you know, take her clothes off. Yet. Sure, he was a flirt but he wasn't one of those sorts you really had to worry about. Not like the ones on the internet-- that was where Lexie had to worry. No, this one was (generally) nice enough. He hadn't hurt her, after all. And he was trying to be friendly. Kinda.

"Maybe, dunno. Gonna go an' fin' out, 'dough. 'De shower, chere?" He lifted a gloved hand to kiss his fingers and sort of throw it out there-- he was making fun of Italians, don't mind him-- "Ou' o' 'dis worl'." One red eye closed down in a quick wink. "Gonna see wha' ou' 'dere. C'mon ou' when you rea'y, non? Won' le' not'in' happen t' you." As if he could protect her. As if he would. But really, who knew?

It was a plus that Gambit wasn't doing any of the things that Lexie thought he could do. That didn't make her trust him any more because she was quite certain she couldn't throw him very far at all.

She stayed put on the edge of that bed she'd made, squaring up the pillows and the sheets as she pulled up her feet, too. She wasn't in a big hurry to move, was she? He told her to come on out when she was ready, but Lexie wasn't even entirely certain she was ready to get off the bed yet. The whole idea that they were in a place like this while everybody else was back in a place like that made her feel more than just a little guilty. And if you think I'm going to breed with this guy? She pushed the thought from her head. It wouldn't surprise her. Hot dude, smart girl; make for some amazing kids, wouldn't it? Afterall, it'd been determined the attractiveness of the male has a greater bearing on the attractiveness of their offspring than the female (it enables the greater likelihood of continuing the superior male DNA).

"You don't really seem the hero type," she said quietly, finally looking up to catch Gambit's eye. Look at that, Gambit, somebody who didn't want to cast you as their rescuer. Did that make you like her better?

Breed with him? Ho-ho! No! Remy was all about the intimate connections and bodily fluid exchange and -- well, all about the sex. But he wasn't all about making little Cajuns. No little mutant babies. Not any time soon. And probably not ever, if he had any say about it.

However, when she said that he wasn't really the hero type, his smile curled up and he leaned back against the door jam. "Ain'. But be uh shame t' le' such uh pretty girl go t' was'e, non?" He lifted his eyebrows some, then laughed a little and moved a gloved hand to open the door. "Ge' uh shower, fille. While you can." The red-head was leaning nearer to the exit then. "You hear me screamin', don' come ou'."

He smiled and again tried to flirt. It'd worked with Dean, but with creepy eyes here? Just felt like a dirty old man in a younger, tighter package. You forced too much, Cajun.

He'd pulled open the door a bit and it seemed very quiet out beyond. From what she could see there was a large kitchen. A kitchen?

"Now that's comforting," she said flatly in response to his mention of screaming. "Do I really look like a hero to you?"

He smirked when she asked if she looked like a hero. "Non. Y' don'." The Cajun shook his head some then let the door swing a little before he pushed it open wider and headed outside, tugging it shut behind him to give her some privacy.

Poor Lexie.
