Each character will awaken in a room with another character and will be missing their journals. Each will have their own very comfortable twin bed. The Room is comfortably accommodated and should the subject look into the closets of bureau they will find clothing appropriate to their sense of style and size. Each room has it's own bathroom complete with toilet, tub and shower. Each bathroom is stocked with products the character would be familiar with.

The doors to the five bedrooms all open into a large common area which includes a television (no cable; just a large collection of assorted movies and an X-Box with an assortment of games); a bookcase with various titles and genres; a large sectional sofa; a dining table; and a large kitchen. The Kitchen will have an induction cooktop stove; a large refrigerator; various appliances and copious amounts of fresh foods. The style of this room is contemporary but comfortable. The floors are carpeted and everything is modern.

Clearly, this room is intended to make the subjects comfortable. Conspicuously absent: Windows.

There is an area which is clearly a door; however, it has no handle from the inside. Over this door is a large blue sign "Departure Point." A sign on the door indicates the following.

"Thank you for your participation here at Vas Captio. This area is intended for your use and comfort. Please be mindful to be clean and courteous as this room will be occupied shortly after you leave. Further instructions as to your departure will be included as they become more final. Thank you for your patience."

When Shannon awoke, she kept her eyes closed, rolling onto her previously injured side and sighed. She'd been having a dream that she was back on the Island; Sayid had been there. And Boone had still been alive. All that she wanted was to be able to fall back into the dream, because even if she'd still been on Craphole Island, it had been better than the Glass Cage.

Unable to sink back into slumber, Shannon opened her eyes and froze. She was no longer in the abandoned church and she was no longer alone. While she'd fallen asleep in a pew, she awoke in a bed and looked across the room not at the altar and crucifix, but at a thin blonde girl on another bed.

Shannon sat up quickly and patted herself down. Where the hell was her journal?! If she didn't check in with Sam as promised, he'd either panic, be angry, or maybe both. "Hey," she said aloud trying to rouse the other woman as she swung her legs around the side of the bed and rubbed her eyes. "You awake?" she asked, even though it was clear that she wasn't.

Kim heard someone's voice through her sleep-induced haze and began to stretch slowly on the bed as she came awake. She had been having a lovely dream--she had been eating dinner with her family, and Edward had been there, but he had had hands, with long delicate fingers, and no trouble picking up the knife and fork, and everyone had been so happy...

wait a moment. Bed? BED? Kim snapped fully awake, sitting upright too quickly and holding her head as she felt the rush of blood. "Ow." Then she looked down at the plush bed that had been provided to her. Not her bed, though, so this meant she was still in the glass prison. Then she took inventory of the room, and the other woman on the other bed, doing a quick scan, her brain working overtime as it tried to shift gears while she was still half-asleep.

"Well. This is quite the unexpected upgrade," Kim commented a bit fuzzily, running a hand through her hair automatically. "Guess we've been model prisoners or something." Her mind pointed out, quite aptly, that the 'or something', knowing this place, was likely around the corner, and likely unpleasant. Still, for right now, she was in a room with a bed--and the room even had a door, so there was an escape...and if she was being monitored, she couldn't see the cameras yet. All in all, not a bad, if disorienting, way to wake up.

When the other blonde awoke, Shannon furrowed her brow slightly. Upgrade? Like hell it was an upgrade. Shannon had a bad feeling about this place. Beds? Just like that? Something felt wrong. Instead of saying as much, though, Shannon forced a small, tight smile and nodded just slightly. "I don't know about that," she said uneasily. Shannon had been anything but a model prisoner, she thought. While others had resigned themselves, Shannon had pushed on. When some of the others had decided that they were never getting out, Shannon continued to tell herself and anyone else who would listen that they would get out. Sam would get them out; the Doctor would, or Jack.

As Shannon looked around the room and the sick feeling in the pit of her stomach, she decided that those days were gone. This place - the room, not the Glass Cage itself - was too...good. The smell of bacon, however...off...it seemed, wafted in from another room. Food. Beds. Her heart sank. We're going to die in here...it's finally my turn and I can't even tell Sam goodbye... she thought miserably, her chin quivering as she blinked back tears and laid back down, rolling away so that her back was toward the other woman and she wouldn't see. Shannon had spent too long trying to create a facade of strength and endurance that she didn't actually possess; like hell she was going to let this poor girl see her break down and know, just by looking at her, that the worst was yet to come.

There was something in Shannon's gut that told her this would be the last place she'd ever be alive. Maybe both of them would end up dead by the end of the day and maybe Shannon wouldn't have to watch her die or bury the body. Maybe Shannon, by some morbid and fucked up saving grace, would die first. Please, let me go first. And please make sure Sam knows I love him. Shannon closed her eyes. "I smell food, you should eat something," she said in a low, gravelly voice, wanting to be alone and not having the strength to get to know a new person when she was afraid that any potential friendship would be short-lived. God, that was heartbreaking to actually admit to herself after the past two weeks and some...
