What:  Remy has this problem with being bored..

When:  Day 16, 8:45pm
Rating:  PG
Status:  Dropped

After the mutant had entertained himself with Le Docteur, he'd settled down atop one of those tomb stones and had written in his journal some.. looked like there was someone else here, new, it seemed, from his world. Or, a world that was similar. And he was curious. .. Okay, curious was an understatement. He was rapt with fascination at the idea that someone else here was a mutant.. it was like they'd taken Logan, then dropped another one in, to see what his reaction would be. Well, he didn't much like it at all.

But he wasn't going to voice that to anyone. He'd told the Doctor, and no one else needed to know he cared anything about Logan dying. That was his business.

So after that bout of entertainment with the Doctor, he'd gone back to the Barn for a few moments, but had been utterly bored, and feeling quite alone.. so he'd wandered back out, into the darker night, since the sun had recently set, and all the trees made it very dark, very quickly.  And with the Doctor's coat hanging from his shoulders, gloved hands pushed deep into his pockets, he was moving through the outskirts of the town between the library and the theater, sharp eyes on a look out for someone-- anyone-- to keep him from being bored (and alone).

Since Kim had arrived, to say that Edward had existed in something of a blissful reverie would have been something of a vast understatement. The young creation seemed to be the only one largely untouched by tragedy in this place; whenever it happened, he was, of course, extremely sad, but he seemed to move on far more easily than most others. If someone like, say, Kim had been found dead, he would have been more severely affected, certainly, but as it was, the people who were passing away were people he had known briefly, if at all, and for someone almost sixty years old, a few days or weeks just didn't last that long.

He recognized Remy's red hair at a distance, knowing immediately that it wasn't Kim's. Kim's hair leaned more blond than red, anyway, and Gambits was a deeper, richer color. Edward still liked looking at it. "Hi! Hi, hello!" He greeted in his usual cheerful way. "Gambit! You aren't dead! I'm glad!"

Remy's face broke out into a smile when he heard Edward's voice, and those familiar metal-on-metal sounds of his, er.. hands. And he was changing his course some, so that he could detour and head for the dark-haired young man. Well.. he really was more of a doll than a man, wasn't he? He wasn't real there was no blood, or pumping heart, right? He was.. some sort of computer, it seemed. And Remy wasn't really up on technology. He didn't need it. Still, the thought was intriguing.

"Non!" He called back. "Ain' dea'! I'm gla', too! An' gla' t' see you ain' dea', nei'ter." The Cajun was wandering up closer to the leather-bound creation, his gloved hands stuck deep into his pockets. The earlier accident with the Doctor was preventing him from feeling safe about keeping his hands out and about where they should be. But that'd wear off by tomorrow.. he was just a little on the skittish side right now, even though it didn't show. "How you been doin', E'war'? Ain' seen much o' you 'roun'." He came right up to the darker man, still smiling easily at him. He'd quite liked Edward when he'd first met him. Everyone did. He was too sweet not to.

Though Edward was more of a doll, he was no computer. The innocent creature, eternally young despite the fact that he was over fifty years old, was learned in poetry and etiquette but little else. He was sweet, but not brilliant, nor would he ever be. Maybe he might have been, had the inventor finished him and tied off all of the loose ends, but as it was, Edward existed in eternal childhood.

"No! I'm not dead! It's wonderful!" he said, celebrating with a beaming smile that lit up his black eyes. "You haven't seen me around?" Confused by the figure of speech, Edward started turning in slow circles, staring at the ground, until he felt dizzy and had to stop. "There! You've seen me 'around' now. Yes?"

The Cajun laughed as Edward spun and he nodded, eyebrows raising up into his hairline. "Oui, petite. Seen you 'roun' now." He agreed in that same smooth tone. "Wha' you doin' ou' here so la'e? Sun gonna go down an' you gonna be ou' here in 'de dark." It was a soft reminder but also a soft chide.

"Where you been stayin', I walk you 'dere, non?" He didn't particularly want Edward wandering around as he was. Sure, he knew the kid could defend himself, even if he wasn't trying to. But it didn't mean that Remy felt good about just letting the boy walking around in this town all on his own. Really, the same could be said for him, but like the Doctor, he thought he was outside the norm.

Too many people thought they were outside the norm, here.
