Who: The Doctors [Nine & Ten], Rose Tyler & Remy LeBeau
What: Ten comes to the barn and finds Nine, Rose and Remy.
Where: The Barn
When: Day 15, 3:00 p.m.
Rating: PG-13
Status: Complete

Remy had returned from his little get-together with the Doctor-- His Doctor-- The.. tenth Doctor?-- about twenty minutes ago. He'd had some errands to run, swinging by the thrift store again and allowing Rose what he thought was more time to sleep. However, when he'd come back, he'd found a big-eared man and had immediately known, through Le Docteur's description, that this had to be L'Autre Docteur. With greetings out of the way, Remy had shoved one of the couches (that wasn't part of his huge bed) away from one of the opposite walls, and had pushed it to sit about three feet from the one couch that was helping hold his bed together. It made for a nice sitting place, with the Cajun on one couch, and L'Autre Docteur and Rose, on the other one. The red-head (though you couldn't tell, with all of his hair hidden beneath the black beanie) had been closely watching their interactions, but hadn't seen anything to indicate that Le Docteur was lying to him. These two seemed like they were very close friends. Amazing friends, really. But he hadn't seen anything particularly romantic. No signals. No kissing. No hand-holding. And the thought made him smile to himself.

You'd be stupid and paranoid, Cajun. The Doctor wouldn't have lied to you. Best friends, he'd said. He and Rose were best friends, that was all.

"So you been trav'lin' 'roun' space wit' 'dis guy?" Remy was prompting to Rose, a grin clear on his features. "In uh telephone box? Savin' worl's an' gettin' int' lor' know wha' kin'a trouble?" He laughed a little and shook his head. "Seem like my kin'a t'in'. You takin' applica'ions, Doct'r?" He had been amazed how easy it had been to fall into calling this man 'Doctor'. He'd never call him Docteur, though. L'Autre Docteur, sure. But there was only one Docteur for him.

He wanted to slink away, very quietly and very non-decriptly. So, he gave Nine a look. A blank face that to Remy and Rose would probably look like nothing more than acknowlegement. To Nine, however, it would speak volumes. It would scream, Get her out of here. Mostly because this was bordering on tortuous.

"Shannon's good. Jack, too," he vouched. "They'll both keep an eye out for the pair of you, I'm sure," He stepped back again, this time taking up a spot to lean against one of the many wooden pillars that served to support the rafters and roof. He crossed his arms and tried to force a bit of a smile.

When Rose asked her question he was quick to respond, "Science." You're down to single word answers, Rose. Sorry.

Oh, the Doctor knew that look on himself and smiled in return, so as not to give the other two the wrong impression. It was definitely time to go and he was tugging out that journal again to flip through the pages and find the map again, then lifted blue eyes back up to his other self. "Then we'll be at the museum. I'd like to hear more about your science later, Doctor." Nine reminded Ten simply, with a glance that said much more. They needed to find time alone, to talk. They had a lot to talk about and doing it over the journals wasn't going to solve anything.

"Well, we're off." Abrupt Doctor is Abrupt. But he always had been and always would be, by the looks of things. "Thank you, Remy," He extended his hand out towards the Cajun for a shake, and once he got it, he was only smiling at the Doctor, having no real urge to try touching himself.

No, definitely not. "It was good to meet you, Doctor. Rose?" He offered out his arm to her in a pleased gesture, quite aware that even if she was fixated on Ten, that she'd give it up for the chance to wrap her arms around that leather-clad one the older man was offering out.

"Oui, see you la'er, Rose, Doct'r." He nodded to the pair of them, pushing his hands deep into the pockets of the duplicate trench coat and smiling easily. He had questions. Tons of questions. But he would wait, at least, until the pair was long gone. Probably later into the night, even. He wanted to watch a little longer, try to figure things out, piece it together on his own.

For now.

Rose couldn't help feeling like she'd done something wrong. Perhaps it was simply that the Doctor was right and they'd invaded on this space for too long. But it felt so much deeper, as if she'd spoken out of turn at a fancy dinner party or something.

"It was nice meeting you both," she forced out, clinging to the offered arm as if it were a life raft. Suddenly, she felt more than a little ill and desperate to get back out to the cool but fresh air of her captive home. She hadn't spoken that much. How could she have offended everyone in the room? But she hadn't, had she?

Christ, boys were strange. No matter how old or even what species, she didn't think she'd ever understand them. "Thank you again, Remy," she offered to the one bloke in the room who wasn't entirely freaking her out. "We'll talk again, I know it." She wiggled her fingers at him with her free hand, and then paused her eyes on the taller man, the one in the trench that matched Remy's so completely. For a moment, she hesitated. She was drawn to him, she knew that much, but she couldn't place why and she couldn't figure out why her presence offended him so much. So instead of speaking at all, she merely gave the Doctor's arm a slight tug and nodded at the man as they made their way outside.
