You know what? Tex was not pleased. Not at all. One minute, she had been in her thousand pound MJOLNIR armor, and she'd been armed, and looking for her wayward idiot ex-boyfriend, who wasn't even real. Then again, neither was she, as she'd just found out. Great. This was just great. Fucking great.  She wasn't pleased. No. 'Not pleased' was an understatement. She was furious. Why?

Because she was no longer in her large, heavy suit of armor. She was no longer on a transport on her way to find Church. No. She was sitting in a forest, in nothing but a black sports bra and black underwear (military issue, don't get any ideas, punks). And she was pissed off. No. Really pissed off. A hand came up to push back through short red hair and the woman growled softly to herself as she looked to her left. Well, there was Church. Thank goodness for small favors. He was also without his armor and was in nothing but standard issue black boxer briefs.. but what really confused her was the .. relatively handsome dirty-blonde to her right, who was dressed in some strange.. uniform, it looked like. What was this, the military base from Hell?

After a few moments, the female Spartan finally pushed herself up to her feet, stretching a little as she did. Six foot two inches was tall for any woman.. unless she was a Spartan. Tex was actually quite short for her kind, and she heard enough shit about it as it was, thanks. Don't even open your mouth about it. She wasn't interested in hearing your crap. But then again, judging the man in the uniform.. he looked rather like a normal human. And in hoping that this place was full of normal humans, and not Covenant, or Reds, or Blues (please, not Blues), or other Freelancers.. was definitely on her list of things to do. If there were no other Spartans here, today would be a good day for the Freelancer.

"Rise and shine, boys." She cooed in a really.. well.. nasty tone. No, Tex wasn't nice. You could pay her to be nice, but beyond that? .. No. Not going to happen.

Ow, fuck. His head hurt. And there was an annoying voice that needed to shut up.

He debated momentarily (as much as he could in his hazy state of mind) whether or not to whine childishly that he was hurting so much, he couldn't even feel his own soul and that Bones was a bad friend for making him go through this crap, before he remembered he was at base. Or, at least, was supposed to be at base. He wasn't on his starship and he wasn't yet en route for the USS Enterprise's second maiden voyage (which was not possible, because a maiden voyage was maiden for a reason, but he tactfully ignored such things).

He tried to remember what he was doing, prior to waking up, and could only remember saying his "Goodnight"s to his crew. They were all to meet up the next morning for their mission.. their five-year mission. Had he.. woken up and hit his head or something?

He was supposed to be at base but he was hurting.

And he was, he moved around to hear leaves rustling, presently not in his quarters. Or anywhere near, he concluded wearily as he opened his eyes to green. The base was in San Francisco. This sure as hell was not San Francisco. "Ohh," he groaned, "Shit.. where am I?" His voice was groggy and his mind was buzzing as he tried to sit up. Kirk tried to focus his gaze on his surroundings but it was still dark out and he took a second to get his head on straight.

Kirk looked down on himself and noticed he was wearing his regular uniform, the black pants, black undershirt and his mustard-yellow captain shirt. When did he get dressed? He stood up, confused, and blinked at the woman clad in what seemed like mere underwear and stared. Kirk had tact. When he had a clue about what the hell was going on. "Um, who are you?" he asked, his mind still in la-la-where-the-hell-am-I-this-isn't-Starfleet-land.

The difference between the tall woman in her underwear along with the young, attractive captain lying on the ground and the other young, very tall man lying on her other side was that both of them knew where they had been before they'd ended up here.. wherever here was. Tex had been searching for her wayward boyfriend, and Kirk had been in his quarters... but while Church might have thought he knew where he had been directly before this, even if an insane electromagnetic pulse hadn't gone off, wiping both his short and long term memory clean back to when he'd just been a child, he still wouldn't know where he'd been directly before this.. because he'd been out of commission for quite some time.

But he wasn't any longer.

He heard first the voice of the woman between the two of them and lifted his head slowly off of the dirty forest floor, turning blue eyes up to look at the tall woman in her underwear. Well, whatever had just happened, wherever he was... at least he'd been thrown into a world where the woman had long, slender legs and didn't seem to mind showing them off. He looked them over a long moment before lifting his eyes up to her face as he sat up slowly, lifting a very adult sized hand up to push over his face. Church noticed the size of his hand, of course, and looked down at his legs... and slowly, he lowered his other hand down to feel himself between his legs over the top of those black boxer briefs he was wearing. Yes... very adult sized. How had he gotten adult sized? The last thing he remembered was training exercises in the forests of Reach, when he'd been fifteen years old... and while this still could be Reach, he definitely wasn't still fifteen.

He remained seated as his eyes turned over to look at the other man with them, nose scrunching at the appearance of his uniform (was that yellow shirt really necessary?), and he looked him over a moment before looking up to his face, as well. He didn't recognize either of these people, so he was pushing both of his hands into the dirt on either side of him and getting to his feet. He didn't have a weapon on him, that was obvious, but neither did the other two - unless the other man was hiding one under his clothing.

Once he was standing erect on two feet, six foot six inches of well built super-soldier, Church turned his eyes back to Tex. One, because she was a pretty girl in just her underwear, and two, because they seemed to gravitate towards her. Like his mind wanted to stare at her, though not because she was scantily clad.. just because. But right now wasn't exactly the greatest time for him to be questioning himself.

"Who the fuck are you?" Asked to both of them, generally, though he kept his eyes forward on the other woman.

She had watched calmly as the dressed man had stood up and she lifted her eyebrows at him when he asked where he was, and who she was. "Long night, soldier?" She assumed he was a soldier, of course, because of the uniform. "Must have had one too many. And look what happens. You wake up in a forest with a woman and a man. Bet you're not going to be telling your superiors about this little adventure, huh?" She smirked and shook her head some before turning to look at Church as he hauled his sorry ass up off the ground.

Then he asked who she was and she lifted her chin a bit. Great. "Don't worry about it, stud. You'll figure it out eventually." She crossed long, lithe arms over her chest. She was clearly a soldier as well, but also quite clearly a woman. A very attractive woman, at that. And yes, she was in her underwear. "Don't stare." Snapped suddenly at Church. Then she was turning on her heel and moving bare-foot through the forest. "There's noise coming from this way, and I can see some sort of building over there. Let's get the Hell out of this forest before something tries to eat us. Hey, you." That was said aside to the man in the yellow shirt. "What's your name and rank?"

At least she was asking his name instead of deciding to call him 'Spaceman', or 'Military Man', or 'Mustard'. Only because something was clearly very wrong here and she had no interest in becoming a captive any time soon.

Kirk stared. Forget tact, there was a gorgeous woman in front of him and wait, why was she only wearing underwear? And why was he fully clothed? And why was the other guy just as naked as the girl.. whoa whoa, what the fuck happened?! His eyes bugged a little as he turned his attention to the woman, "Hell no, I'm not. I'm not even telling my damn dog about this!" not that he had one, but his point still stands, "I don't even know what's going on here.." He looked around and almost tripped on a box on the ground. It looked like a kit, he mused, and picked it up, noticing the wording on the front. Vas Captio?

Kirk decided he'd look it over as soon as he knew something about this place. Or when he had the time. He placed it under his arm and wrinkled his nose when the woman refused to give him her name. Great, why do all women like to be difficult? he thought but resigned himself to it and looked to the other man who was currently busy touching himself. What--seriously?! He tried to resist running away but he figured they were all on the same boat (or at least, he hoped). His hopes were confirmed when the other man (the really TALL other man), bluntly asked them who the fuck they were. Kirk debated answering his question before the woman spoke again. She seemed to be comfortable ordering them around.

"You won't tell me your name, and I won't tell you mine, I think that makes us even," he commented airily and offered her a charming smile. She was a little intimidating and he figured, from the way her body was built and the bark in her voice, that she was probably in some kind of armed forces. He didn't mean to be so fresh with her, really she was quite the looker, but he was more than a little annoyed with his current situation and finding out information took priority over anything else he might otherwise preoccupy himself with. Still, he might as well be some type of amiable. "I'm a captain, though," he shrugged and left it vague.

He didn't want to disclose too much information and get himself in deeper shit. "You?" he asked and continued, "From what I can tell, you're quick to assume command."

He frowned when she didn't answer his question, and instead acted like she knew something that he didn't (though he didn't mind that she called him stud - he'd be her stud any night). "Don't look so hot and bothered and I won't stare." Countered, and he glanced away from her back to the other man.. and then down at the ground, where he finally noticed the little survival pack that had been lying next to him on the ground when he'd woken up. He bent at the waist and reached out to pick it up, turning it over in his hands to stare down at the Latin words there. He didn't have any idea what that said or meant, but then again, you didn't know what the wrapping around a Christmas present meant, either. You just had to open it up and see what was inside! So Church was doing just that, pulling back the cover and opening the kit up so he could look inside. He reached in and pulled out the pack of soggy matches first, looked them over and nodded. Soggy, but he could still use them, if he needed to. Next came out the tube socks, and he turned them over in his hands before he was letting the pack fall to the forest floor so he could unfold them, then lift up one leg at a time to pull the socks on. Might as well, right? He would look stupid in those military issued boxer briefs and tube socks, though. But Church didn't care. Once the socks were on he picked up the pack again and looked through the rest of it, ignoring the tic-tac’s and the journal (who would want to write at a time like this...or ever?), and noted the bottle of water. Good. If they were going to be scrounging around in the forest, water would be good.

Once he was through checking out the survival kit, Church was glancing back over at Kirk as he got up and began getting himself settled in his new surroundings, smirking some as he gathered his thoughts and reacted to Tex. She certainly did seem to be the fiery type, didn’t she? Leonard liked fiery, He didn’t know that this man could handle it, though… he was a pretty little thing, but he was fairly confident that he could break him if he needed to. Yep, snap him right in half.

Did he just say he was a Captain? That made Church smirk, and he took a step towards the other man. “Captain of what? A little army of G.I. Joe’s that some four year old spilled a bottle of mustard on?” He hadn’t ever had a problem challenging authority, not when he was young and especially not when he was older… certainly not authority that he didn’t know was authority. Besides, he’d never seen any superior officer dressed in something so ugly before, so he had to by lying. Right? And this.. boy really didn’t have any of the mannerisms of a superior. He seemed timid, really. What sort of a Captain was timid?

Then again, Church could be wrong.

Tex let out a very loud, aggravated sigh, just to assure that the other two men knew that she was aggravated. Did everyone get that? If not, she was turning around to cross her arms over her chest in an equally aggravated way. That should get her point across. Still, she was watching as the two men began digging through the little kits. Tex had noticed hers, but she'd left it -- it could have been a bomb for all she knew -- but those two hadn't been blown up, so with a roll skyward of those impossibly green eyes, she was coming forward and bending to swipe up her own box, picking through it to grab the water, the socks, and the book, before throwing the rest carelessly onto the ground.

"A Captain, huh? Stand down, Leonard." She turned her head aside to look at the taller Spartan, lifting her eyebrows some. "He's a Captain. Show some damn respect." Not that she would. She was a Freelancer, and that made her above the law, as sick as that sounded.. but Church certainly wasn't above the law, and besides.. she liked watching him squirm. It just made her happy all over. But, when he didn't immediately back off, Tex was stepping forward and snapping out her next order. "I said now."

If that didn't get his attention, nothing would. But she'd put together that he had no idea who she was, so he had no idea that he definitely wouldn't be listening to her orders, if he did knew who she was .. if that made any sense at all. But even so, she was turning those sharp eyes right back onto the (God, but he was cute!) other man again, a hand lifting to push that short red hair out of her face.

"Okay, Captain. I'm Tex. That's Leonard Church. And before you say anything, just.. don't." The last part was aside to Church, with a glance, before all of her attention refocused on the shorter man. Yeah, Tex was tall, and yeah, she had.. a great body, a body that Marines would be jealous of, but she was still distinctly female. Very distinctly female. "Got any idea where the Hell we are?" She had already decided that he didn't, but it never hurt to ask, just in case he had any theories about the situation. Tex was more than willing to listen to his theories. He had a nice mouth. His mouth would look nicer between her legs.. Ugh, but then Church would have to break his neck and that would just be messy .. Then again, Church didn't know who she was, at the moment.

"What's your name, Captain?" The female Spartan was prompting once again, as she shifted the water and notebook into one hand, then hooked the rim of the socks on that same thumb so they wouldn't go anywhere. She wanted to have a free hand, just in case.

It was a lot like hearing himself talk. Authority could stick their guns and their meaningless threats up their ass for all he cared, but that was when he was younger. That was when... when he wasn't authority himself, when he didn't have an authority figure he could respect. When he never got respect because he didn't know how to give it. He wants to scowl but he barely represses the slight tinge of scorn and instead manages to smirk. "The crew is only as good as their leader. In which case, I'd have to say my little G.I. Joe's could wipe the floor with you," he commented offhandedly, dismissing his comment airily with a smile.

Jim turned to the woman and raised an eyebrow, interested, as she continued barking commands at the other man. She must belong to a higher rank than he, if anything, because not only was she comfortable with ordering them both around but she obviously expected no rebellion or backtalk (if her straightforward attitude was anything to go by). He watched Leonard cautiously, wondering how he would react to Tex.

His blue eyes drifted back to Tex, a scantily-clad sight for sore eyes. "I thought it was already established I'm as confused as you are.." he muttered, looking around at their surroundings. This place smelled moist and it wasn't a particularly pleasing smell, he thought, as he looked around where they had previously been laying. "We need to investigate, that's for sure. We won't get any answers by staying here and wondering what's going on..." he looked back at his kit and rubbed his head a little. He could feel the beginnings of a bump. Had he hit his head on something? Or.. had someone.. hit him? "I bet whoever brought us here was also nice enough to leave us these kits." He had no idea why their.. captor would leave them soggy matches, tube socks and water. What did they want with them? And why did they leave them alone after going through some pains to get them here (or at least, Kirk assumed the captor went through great pains, considering security in Starfleet base was nothing near slack)?

He grinned charmingly at her question, "My name is James T. Kirk." He gave Leonard a brief nod, his eyes wandering to him only momentarily before returning to Tex.

How the hell did she know his name? Blue eyes snapped back at her, despite his position nearer to the so called Captain, and he stared at her a moment after she’d told him to stand down… and used his first name. Regardless, though, he had a point to make: “He’s a Captain and I’m Santa Clause. You must be the ‘ho, ho, ho’.” His eyes rolled and he turned his attention back to Kirk, shoulders shifting back as he sized him up. He was way too young looking to be a Captain. The man was obviously lying. When Tex stepped forward and ordered him to stand down again, Leonard just smirked, but remained where he was. No, he didn’t have any idea who she was, but she obviously knew him. But regardless of that fact, why should he listen to her? She hadn’t stated a rank, hadn’t told him she was his superior officer… not like he would have believed her, anyway.

And then the “Captain” was speaking up. If Church had feathers, that statement would have ruffled them, and it certainly made the hair on the back of his neck stand up, and he took a step closer to the other man. “Wipe the floor with me? Well. Let’s say that that isn’t the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard, and they could do that. Where are they?” His brows lifted, and he took a step closer to him, so he was standing less than a foot in front of Kirk.. if the other man stood his ground. Church was expecting him to. “Who’s going to protect you if I decide that right now is the time I want to knock your fucking head off?” Church knew how strong he was. He might have a memory lapse, but he could feel it. He remembered the experiments they’d put him through, he remembered the enhancements and the effects. He remembered surviving. So he knew what he was capable of. He didn’t, however, know that the woman standing behind him also had those same enhancements, and that she was also capable of great feats of strength.

“Investigate. You do that, Sherlock. Me and Holmes back there are going to leave you in the woods and hope someone can find you a hot dog and some ketchup to complete your outfit.”

"Kirk." Her smile curled up at the edges and Tex nodded, then breathed out a small noise of contentment. She liked that name. And she liked his rank. He sure was cute. A little short for her tastes, though, unfortunately. Still. Church was mouthing off again and the red-head let out a slow breath, turning some to elbow her companion hard in the stomach before giving James Kirk her full attention again.

"I think it's best to split up. You look capable of taking care of yourself," Despite what Church had said, "I'm taking this asshole in that direction." She pointed her hand North, in the direction that she'd heard the noise coming from. "If nothing else, we can find some place to collect clothing from. Because if he doesn't stop staring at me, I'm going to break his nose." This, of course, was calmly said to Kirk, all the while never glancing over at the dark haired man at her side.

"I'm sure we'll see you again. If not, good luck." The woman offered him a lax salute before turning on her heel and heading off through the forest without a glance back. She was clearly a get-shit-done kind of woman. And she was ready to find out what the Hell was going on here.

And poor Kirk would be left behind in those woods, as the Freelancer led away the cursing mess that was her ex, into the small town, to find something to wear. Hopefully find something to wear. If worse came to worse, she'd knock someone out and take their clothing. That worked for her.
