You know what? Tex was not pleased. Not at all. One minute, she had been in her thousand pound MJOLNIR armor, and she'd been armed, and looking for her wayward idiot ex-boyfriend, who wasn't even real. Then again, neither was she, as she'd just found out. Great. This was just great. Fucking great.  She wasn't pleased. No. 'Not pleased' was an understatement. She was furious. Why?

Because she was no longer in her large, heavy suit of armor. She was no longer on a transport on her way to find Church. No. She was sitting in a forest, in nothing but a black sports bra and black underwear (military issue, don't get any ideas, punks). And she was pissed off. No. Really pissed off. A hand came up to push back through short red hair and the woman growled softly to herself as she looked to her left. Well, there was Church. Thank goodness for small favors. He was also without his armor and was in nothing but standard issue black boxer briefs.. but what really confused her was the .. relatively handsome dirty-blonde to her right, who was dressed in some strange.. uniform, it looked like. What was this, the military base from Hell?

After a few moments, the female Spartan finally pushed herself up to her feet, stretching a little as she did. Six foot two inches was tall for any woman.. unless she was a Spartan. Tex was actually quite short for her kind, and she heard enough shit about it as it was, thanks. Don't even open your mouth about it. She wasn't interested in hearing your crap. But then again, judging the man in the uniform.. he looked rather like a normal human. And in hoping that this place was full of normal humans, and not Covenant, or Reds, or Blues (please, not Blues), or other Freelancers.. was definitely on her list of things to do. If there were no other Spartans here, today would be a good day for the Freelancer.

"Rise and shine, boys." She cooed in a really.. well.. nasty tone. No, Tex wasn't nice. You could pay her to be nice, but beyond that? .. No. Not going to happen.

Tex let out a very loud, aggravated sigh, just to assure that the other two men knew that she was aggravated. Did everyone get that? If not, she was turning around to cross her arms over her chest in an equally aggravated way. That should get her point across. Still, she was watching as the two men began digging through the little kits. Tex had noticed hers, but she'd left it -- it could have been a bomb for all she knew -- but those two hadn't been blown up, so with a roll skyward of those impossibly green eyes, she was coming forward and bending to swipe up her own box, picking through it to grab the water, the socks, and the book, before throwing the rest carelessly onto the ground.

"A Captain, huh? Stand down, Leonard." She turned her head aside to look at the taller Spartan, lifting her eyebrows some. "He's a Captain. Show some damn respect." Not that she would. She was a Freelancer, and that made her above the law, as sick as that sounded.. but Church certainly wasn't above the law, and besides.. she liked watching him squirm. It just made her happy all over. But, when he didn't immediately back off, Tex was stepping forward and snapping out her next order. "I said now."

If that didn't get his attention, nothing would. But she'd put together that he had no idea who she was, so he had no idea that he definitely wouldn't be listening to her orders, if he did knew who she was .. if that made any sense at all. But even so, she was turning those sharp eyes right back onto the (God, but he was cute!) other man again, a hand lifting to push that short red hair out of her face.

"Okay, Captain. I'm Tex. That's Leonard Church. And before you say anything, just.. don't." The last part was aside to Church, with a glance, before all of her attention refocused on the shorter man. Yeah, Tex was tall, and yeah, she had.. a great body, a body that Marines would be jealous of, but she was still distinctly female. Very distinctly female. "Got any idea where the Hell we are?" She had already decided that he didn't, but it never hurt to ask, just in case he had any theories about the situation. Tex was more than willing to listen to his theories. He had a nice mouth. His mouth would look nicer between her legs.. Ugh, but then Church would have to break his neck and that would just be messy .. Then again, Church didn't know who she was, at the moment.

"What's your name, Captain?" The female Spartan was prompting once again, as she shifted the water and notebook into one hand, then hooked the rim of the socks on that same thumb so they wouldn't go anywhere. She wanted to have a free hand, just in case.

It was a lot like hearing himself talk. Authority could stick their guns and their meaningless threats up their ass for all he cared, but that was when he was younger. That was when... when he wasn't authority himself, when he didn't have an authority figure he could respect. When he never got respect because he didn't know how to give it. He wants to scowl but he barely represses the slight tinge of scorn and instead manages to smirk. "The crew is only as good as their leader. In which case, I'd have to say my little G.I. Joe's could wipe the floor with you," he commented offhandedly, dismissing his comment airily with a smile.

Jim turned to the woman and raised an eyebrow, interested, as she continued barking commands at the other man. She must belong to a higher rank than he, if anything, because not only was she comfortable with ordering them both around but she obviously expected no rebellion or backtalk (if her straightforward attitude was anything to go by). He watched Leonard cautiously, wondering how he would react to Tex.

His blue eyes drifted back to Tex, a scantily-clad sight for sore eyes. "I thought it was already established I'm as confused as you are.." he muttered, looking around at their surroundings. This place smelled moist and it wasn't a particularly pleasing smell, he thought, as he looked around where they had previously been laying. "We need to investigate, that's for sure. We won't get any answers by staying here and wondering what's going on..." he looked back at his kit and rubbed his head a little. He could feel the beginnings of a bump. Had he hit his head on something? Or.. had someone.. hit him? "I bet whoever brought us here was also nice enough to leave us these kits." He had no idea why their.. captor would leave them soggy matches, tube socks and water. What did they want with them? And why did they leave them alone after going through some pains to get them here (or at least, Kirk assumed the captor went through great pains, considering security in Starfleet base was nothing near slack)?

He grinned charmingly at her question, "My name is James T. Kirk." He gave Leonard a brief nod, his eyes wandering to him only momentarily before returning to Tex.

How the hell did she know his name? Blue eyes snapped back at her, despite his position nearer to the so called Captain, and he stared at her a moment after she’d told him to stand down… and used his first name. Regardless, though, he had a point to make: “He’s a Captain and I’m Santa Clause. You must be the ‘ho, ho, ho’.” His eyes rolled and he turned his attention back to Kirk, shoulders shifting back as he sized him up. He was way too young looking to be a Captain. The man was obviously lying. When Tex stepped forward and ordered him to stand down again, Leonard just smirked, but remained where he was. No, he didn’t have any idea who she was, but she obviously knew him. But regardless of that fact, why should he listen to her? She hadn’t stated a rank, hadn’t told him she was his superior officer… not like he would have believed her, anyway.

And then the “Captain” was speaking up. If Church had feathers, that statement would have ruffled them, and it certainly made the hair on the back of his neck stand up, and he took a step closer to the other man. “Wipe the floor with me? Well. Let’s say that that isn’t the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard, and they could do that. Where are they?” His brows lifted, and he took a step closer to him, so he was standing less than a foot in front of Kirk.. if the other man stood his ground. Church was expecting him to. “Who’s going to protect you if I decide that right now is the time I want to knock your fucking head off?” Church knew how strong he was. He might have a memory lapse, but he could feel it. He remembered the experiments they’d put him through, he remembered the enhancements and the effects. He remembered surviving. So he knew what he was capable of. He didn’t, however, know that the woman standing behind him also had those same enhancements, and that she was also capable of great feats of strength.

“Investigate. You do that, Sherlock. Me and Holmes back there are going to leave you in the woods and hope someone can find you a hot dog and some ketchup to complete your outfit.”

"Kirk." Her smile curled up at the edges and Tex nodded, then breathed out a small noise of contentment. She liked that name. And she liked his rank. He sure was cute. A little short for her tastes, though, unfortunately. Still. Church was mouthing off again and the red-head let out a slow breath, turning some to elbow her companion hard in the stomach before giving James Kirk her full attention again.

"I think it's best to split up. You look capable of taking care of yourself," Despite what Church had said, "I'm taking this asshole in that direction." She pointed her hand North, in the direction that she'd heard the noise coming from. "If nothing else, we can find some place to collect clothing from. Because if he doesn't stop staring at me, I'm going to break his nose." This, of course, was calmly said to Kirk, all the while never glancing over at the dark haired man at her side.

"I'm sure we'll see you again. If not, good luck." The woman offered him a lax salute before turning on her heel and heading off through the forest without a glance back. She was clearly a get-shit-done kind of woman. And she was ready to find out what the Hell was going on here.

And poor Kirk would be left behind in those woods, as the Freelancer led away the cursing mess that was her ex, into the small town, to find something to wear. Hopefully find something to wear. If worse came to worse, she'd knock someone out and take their clothing. That worked for her.
