Elliot was running out of things to do. She'd thought on her first day that it would be impossible. Even her second day had seemed not to let up until she was bone weary and ready to sleep. The third day however seemed to be crawling by. Most of the patients were in stable condition and those that weren't were being checked on at regular intervals. They'd done all they could with the supplies they'd had and now all they could do was hope for swelling to go down and pray that infections didn't take hold. Which seemed to be a long shot considering how filthy everything and everyone was.

She would've given anything for a bath. She'd found a somewhat clean shirt in the clothes that Logan had brought over form the thrift shop to use as makeshift bandages and blankets. She'd swapped out her blood stained shirt for this one, thinking that most people wouldn't want to be treated by a doctor who looked like she just came from a butcher shop. The top was bright yellow and made her complexion look sallow, which is why she'd slipped her denim jacket over it to try to detract from the blinding brightness of it. All it really made her look like was that she was trying to smuggle the sun out underneath her jacket. She was pretty sure her face was filthy as well as her hair and as much as she'd washed her hands over the last couple of days, she really wanted more than anything, some scalding water and soap.

She was making the rounds, checking the side of the gym that House had been mainly responsible for. She wasn't sure where the other Doctor had gotten off to, though she was fairly certain that he probably hadn't gotten far. She didn't know why that was a relief to her, just that it was.

A cot opened up and she sunk down on it, glancing at her neighbor as she slipped off her heels and massaged her feet. "These shoes are killing me," she said, attempting and half afraid to strike up a conversation. "If I'd known I was going to get kidnapped and thrown into this hellhole I would've worn my sneakers. I don't care what they say about wearing white after Labor Day. Does this place even have Labor Day?" She sighed. "But no, I had to wear my sexy heels so I could do a victory walk back into Sacred Heart." She looked up at her neighbor. He was barely more than just a kid. She couldn't remember his name, but knew his injuries included a broken ankle and concussion. He looked confused. "That's the hospital I work in. You know, normally."

Sid's days were dragging. As soon as he could bloody walk again, he was going to find Anders and build a new sodding Pyramid court, because this was ridiculous. He needed something to do. Someone to talk to would be nice, but mainly, he was just sick of lying uselessly on a cot. The more he laid there, the more he thought about Cass or the whispers he kept hearing about people who'd died. The more he wondered if Cass had shown up and was one of the unfortunates. The more he wished he didn't have time to think about it.

The hot blond doctor - he couldn't remember her name and he sort of didn't care, really, because there were other things to think about - sat down on a cot beside him and Sid was pulled from his lost thoughts. Slowly, he turned his head to look at her, eyebrows raised, as she spoke, sounding as though perhaps she was talking more to herself than to him. When she explained, Sid blinked. "Oh. ...right." He'd prefer his confusion in reference to her babbling than his annoying with the other doctor's grouchiness.

He sighed and looked away from her again, furrowing his brow. "How's your side? Looks better now that you've changed," he admitted absently. "...could I get some pain pills or somthing? This ankle is killing me, yeah?" Once again, he turned his head and looked over at her.

Elliot couldn't help but think he looked so young, sitting here on his own. He looked as lost as she felt. Which meant that his distracted look was close to breaking her heart.

He looked away when he asked about her side, but she didn't mind. She was surprised he'd noticed at all. She glanced down at the bright yellow of her shirt. She opened her mouth to thank him and ask him if it made her skin look yellow, but he turned back to her and asked for something for the pain.

She sighed and gave him a tired smile that faded quickly. "Sure," she said, slipping her shoes back on her feet and moving towards him. "Let me take another look at it."

She reached for the wrapping around it. "Is it still throbbing?"
