Day Two - Late Afternoon
Who: Andy Gallagher and Sarah Vida
What: hunting and gathering
When: late afternoon/early evening
Where: the forest
Rating: PG-13 or R for language and violence
Status: Complete

After telling Luna that he was feeling restless and wanted to go out for some fresh air and move around a little, Andy let himself out of the church and only allowed himself to spare one glance over his shoulder as the doors closed behind him. He hated leaving her. Hated it. But, if it meant being able to help bring food, he was game. Andy was tired and in pain, but he was far more hungry than anything else, at this point. He couldn't remember the last time he'd eaten, after all. Who knew how long he'd been in Cold Oak; Ava had apparently been missing for months without realizing it. There was no way to know how long Andy had been there. All he knew is that he had planned on hitting up the Taco Bell down the street once he cashed his stash, but the last thing he'd remembered before waking up in Cold Oak was the fourth bong load. He'd still had one more load's worth of weed to spend, so...needless to say, it had been a while since he'd eaten. A few days, at best. Longer, at worst.

Never mind your stomach rumbling, asshole, he thought as his ear throbbed in pain at the feel of the rain dropping on the still open wound again. So long as he limped along carefully, he'd be all right with the leg. Hopefully, the wolves would still be in the clearing and they'd enter in the forest the right way. He had to assume that the situation for Luna and Sam had directly mirrored his and Martha's. He hoped like hell it did, anyway, because if not, he'd be fucked if he needed to run.

The bandages Luna had brought back from Martha were holding well and he'd stopped bleeding through them an hour or two ago, so he'd hobbled back behind the alter and into the back room, lucking out when he'd found some trash bags. He'd ripped one open and wrapped that around the wound, too, to keep the bandages dry. It vaguely occurred to him to change clothes so that he wasn't completely covered in blood when he met up with a friggen vampire, but he thought maybe Luna would catch on and stop him if he did.

Huh. Demons and vampires were real. Go figure, he thought with some amusement as he headed down the dirt road to meet Sarah. Maybe the rain would wash some of the blood out of his pajama pants and shirt. He'd had to stop every few minutes to put pressure on the wound while he'd been walking back from where he'd left Martha at the gym and the only thing to do was wipe his hands on his clothes. He looked like a freak show.

"Can't fucking believe I'm going back out in this commando," he muttered to himself.

It took a good fifteen minutes before he saw another person. A blond girl. What's with all the blondes? Fucking temptation, what the hell? he thought in annoyance. "Are you Sarah?" he called out to her.

"Alright, good." she smiled a bit relieved. She would have felt terrible if he had seen her feed.It probably would have made him feel a little sick. She was glad he was spared.

Sarah nodded, "Yeah I can." she laughed, "I'm sure it'd be interesting for someone to watch." she had never seen a vampire run up a tree before but she had seen them run up buildings to try to escape her.

The reminder of the others and the wolves made Sarah try to think about how long they had been gone. "You're right, we've been gone probably almost an hour or so...we should get back. They're probably worried about you." she added as she looked over his current state again.

Sarah started to walk with him back to the edge of the forest when he mentioned the wolves. "I think I'll just drop them outside the door and we can drag them from there. I'll take my coat then as well." she said glancing back up at them, "If you feel up to dragging one of them, ok. But are you sure you can with the apples as well. I don't mind dragging them both." she offered him

Once again, Andy only smiled, afraid that any other expression would betray his words. There was enough fucked up stuff going on here, seeing a young normal-looking girl rip open the throat of a wolf with her teeth would surely be forgotten soon enough. ...and was the least of his worries, anyway, so long as she saved the fangs for the animals.

"I'd pay to see that," he laughed in response. It would be a hell of a sight, he agreed.

Andy's eyes widened. Everything had seemed to happen so fast, it had thrown his own inner clock off. "Jesus, an hour?!" he gasped. "They're gonna be too busy killing me to worry..."

He followed closely beside Sarah, hefting the fruit cloth into a more comfortable distribution of weight, until they reached the edge of the forest. "I'll give it a go," he told her. "Once we get to the nearest building, I'll try and see how it feels, because never mind the fact that I'll look like a puss," he replied, only half-joking. "If I can't do it, I'll let you know, though," he added.

The rain seemed to be heavier outside the forest with the lack of trees to run interference and he looked down at his leg, glad to see that there wasn't any blood leaking out from beneath the bandaging and garbage bag. "Onward ho," he told her, looking back up at her and giving an impish grin. "Church is up that way," he added, pointing.
