Day Two - Late Afternoon
Who: Andy Gallagher and Sarah Vida
What: hunting and gathering
When: late afternoon/early evening
Where: the forest
Rating: PG-13 or R for language and violence
Status: Complete

After telling Luna that he was feeling restless and wanted to go out for some fresh air and move around a little, Andy let himself out of the church and only allowed himself to spare one glance over his shoulder as the doors closed behind him. He hated leaving her. Hated it. But, if it meant being able to help bring food, he was game. Andy was tired and in pain, but he was far more hungry than anything else, at this point. He couldn't remember the last time he'd eaten, after all. Who knew how long he'd been in Cold Oak; Ava had apparently been missing for months without realizing it. There was no way to know how long Andy had been there. All he knew is that he had planned on hitting up the Taco Bell down the street once he cashed his stash, but the last thing he'd remembered before waking up in Cold Oak was the fourth bong load. He'd still had one more load's worth of weed to spend, so...needless to say, it had been a while since he'd eaten. A few days, at best. Longer, at worst.

Never mind your stomach rumbling, asshole, he thought as his ear throbbed in pain at the feel of the rain dropping on the still open wound again. So long as he limped along carefully, he'd be all right with the leg. Hopefully, the wolves would still be in the clearing and they'd enter in the forest the right way. He had to assume that the situation for Luna and Sam had directly mirrored his and Martha's. He hoped like hell it did, anyway, because if not, he'd be fucked if he needed to run.

The bandages Luna had brought back from Martha were holding well and he'd stopped bleeding through them an hour or two ago, so he'd hobbled back behind the alter and into the back room, lucking out when he'd found some trash bags. He'd ripped one open and wrapped that around the wound, too, to keep the bandages dry. It vaguely occurred to him to change clothes so that he wasn't completely covered in blood when he met up with a friggen vampire, but he thought maybe Luna would catch on and stop him if he did.

Huh. Demons and vampires were real. Go figure, he thought with some amusement as he headed down the dirt road to meet Sarah. Maybe the rain would wash some of the blood out of his pajama pants and shirt. He'd had to stop every few minutes to put pressure on the wound while he'd been walking back from where he'd left Martha at the gym and the only thing to do was wipe his hands on his clothes. He looked like a freak show.

"Can't fucking believe I'm going back out in this commando," he muttered to himself.

It took a good fifteen minutes before he saw another person. A blond girl. What's with all the blondes? Fucking temptation, what the hell? he thought in annoyance. "Are you Sarah?" he called out to her.

Sarah couldn't help but smile. She attempted to shrug but only managed to just lift both wolves in the air a tiny bit. "A superhero? Thanks!" she laughed with him. "I ended up cutting their throats more so no one would notice the bite marks. I hope you didn't see too much of that..." she said making a somewhat hopeful face.

"Apples! That's actually the fruit Shannon was talking about. Also Ryuzaki wrote on my journal that he only eats fruit so that should help as well." Sarah said looking at the bag. She was happy with the good haul they seemed to have been able to manage getting together. "Well do you think that will be enough? I can quickly run up into the trees to get more if you think we need it." she offered.

Sarah nodded to answer his question, "Yeah we should, the rain has picked up some." she looked up into the sky. "We should get this food back to everyone. They're probably all pretty hungry." looking back at Andy she almost set the wolves down to take her coat but then thought better of it, "I'll take it back from you before we end up wherever we're going....where are we going exactly?" she realized he hadn't told her where there were others to possibly help them cook the wolves.

Andy's smile only faltered slightly and he wrinkled his nose, shaking his head. "Nah, not really, don't worry about it. I turned my head," he replied. It wasn't entirely a lie. What she didn't know wouldn't hurt her and it wasn't like he was going to tell anybody what he'd seen. He doubted that even if he did, no one would believe him, anyway. Well, Luna maybe, but he had no intention of breaking his end of the deal to find out.

"Really? That works out pretty well then," Andy replied with a smile. He blinked when she offered to run up the tree to get more. "Uh. Yeah okay, if you want to..." he laughed. "And actually...I believe I'd like to see that, to be honest with you," he added with a smirk. That was something one didn't see every day...a cute blonde running up a tree. "Although maybe not right now, because yeah...the rain and hungry people probably won't mix well. We'll have an angry mob on our asses if we don't hurry up," he added with a huff of laughter.

For a second, he looked back at Sarah. "Man, when we get closer, you gotta put those down...it's gonna look weird to people that you can carry 'em. Plus they're gonna think it's nuts that you're not wearing a coat in this kinda weather," he pointed out. "I can probably drag one of 'em if you think that'd help create the illusion that you're an everyday chick, or whatever," he offered awkwardly.
