Day 10: In Town - 1:15pm
Who: OTA
What: Seven point five
When: 1:15pm - 5:00pm
Where: In Town
Rating: TBA
Status: Active

The sun was shining high in the sky and a gentle breeze stroked the leaves of the trees, making them, along with the severed stub of rope on the clock face from the day previous sway lazily. It was quiet. Perhaps it was too quiet, for the lack of birds chirping or insects buzzing.

All in all, the day was one of the most pleasant as of yet for the bulk of the involuntary residents of Vas Captio, save, of course, the heat. Maybe it was a bit too hot to be entirely comfortable.

It started small, as most things do. The dirt roads of Vas captio, while gravelly and, in their own humble way, as downtrodden as the buildings between one another they led, were unaffected by the quiet breeze of the hot, summery day. When the brief rumble rustled through the Glass Cage, pebbles danced on dirt, clacking together gently as they did so.

A settling fell over the roads, if just for a brief moment in time, before the earthquake rocked things back into action. Roads lining the exterior of the town were interrupted with the crashing down of thick tree branches. In some places, in fact, whole trees fell to their rest out of the forest and onto the ground.

In some places, the earth seemed to crack; long splintering fissures in the ground split off into gnarled branch-like lines, some even separating inches apart, leaving small, gapes in between that had the potential, at least, to be stepped in or trap an unfortunate passerby by the ankle.

Vas Captio was still, again, and silent once more.

Granny looked up sharply to the woman who had addressed her. This one, too, was wearing pants. Pants! She could see her legs!
The old witch would have usually given the shameless woman a look of disdain and moved away, but this was an emergency. Therefore she simply looked at the woman with disdain and shrugged in a way that indicated that, in her experience, a witch's hat protected from almost everything known to mankind including death and taxes.

"O' course I'm fine," she remarked, firmly ignoring the scratch in her forehead. "What about you?"
She didn't believe that a woman going around without a dress could really be fine, but Granny could point her in the direction of the dress shop. Could have, at any rate, she corrected herself mentally as she realized that by now the building was probably a pile of debris.
